They were each taken during the dead of the night, some were sleeping, some were meditating, one was even in the middle of bath. Silent sentinels appeared without warning, sending summons by their master. They were each given only enough time to take one weapon with them before a hood was placed over their head and some sort of drug was injected into them causing them to lose consciousness.
When they next woke, it was because of the rocking sensation coming from long range flyer landing on a beach. Before they could ask where they were, large goons manhandled them, tossing them like sacks of grain on the sandy shore. Then the flyer took off leaving them stranded with nothing more than the clothes on their back and the weapon they choose.
The paralytic effect of the drug wore off after an hour just as the sun began to rise over the horizon. Twelves strangers left on an isle in the middle of nowhere. Was it a test? Was it a challenge? No one had any answers or any clue.
After a bit of exploration, they discovered that the island was roughly 3 and half miles wide, mostly composed of rough sandy beaches with strong waves battering the shore. There was a thin tropical forest cover, with possible options of primitive shelter and food, both from wild plants and native animals. The only natural feature was a towering cliff in the center of the island. Rising about 100 feet from the ground, the surface afforded several hand and foot holds to those inclined to explore. From the top one could obtain a panoramic view of the entire island and surrounding turbulent waters.
