Character Eriana Starscion

History

A soldier lived and a soldier died. That’s the story of Eriana Starscion.

Born as the progeny of one of the most powerful noble families of the Norr, she was destined for greatness since day one. And her parents realized this, giving her a name totally unique to her own, expecting Eriana to accomplish feats that would cause future generations to be named after her. They paid for the best education, saw to it that she would rise the ranks of the military and become a great hero. Eriana herself hated it every step of the way, though in her household she had less than a voice. Merely a pawn in their game.

That, she didn’t like.

In a show of rebellion in her early teenage years, Eriana had the great idea to steal one of her family's ships and see how far she could go before they stopped her. It took them half a day to do so, her piloting skills rivaling that of some of the Norrmen adults. She got an earful when she got back home, but she was also given a name. The Starscion. She didn’t mind it.

A few years pass and she’s enlisted at the ripe age of 18. Pilot, one of the expendables. Her skills were too good to keep grounded, so her superior saw it fit to send her out as one of the first in their line of defense. Her father was pissed, but even his influence had its limits. Eriana, on the other hand, didn’t mind. In her squad was a young girl that she had begun to fancy, and the feelings were mutual. Their relationship was taboo and illegal so it was kept a secret from most, but even the blind observer could see the chemistry they had. If only they could run away together, live a long life together, be themselves.

And the opportunity came: space pirates in their system. It wasn’t uncommon that some idiots ended up in their corner of space, but even if it was an accident the response was hostile. These particular idiots were packing firepower and gave the fleet a good run for their money. In the chaos, Eriana and her partner made a plan to fake their deaths and jump as far as they could. That day was the last Eriana saw of her. Their death wasn’t faked.

It was a dangerous idea. It was a dumb idea. It was an idea that ended with Eriana in Hutt Space with the enemy close behind her. Crashing on Orondia, she barely got away with her life. A few months passed and she hitched a ride on the first flight to an actually livable planet: Nar Shaddaa. It was there that she laid low, but on Nar Shaddaa nobody truly stays nobody. Finding herself mixed up in small protection jobs and bounty hunts, it wasn’t long before offers to work for the Hutt’s started to come in. Eriana grew worried they wouldn’t stay just invites for long.

Luckily, the Hutta Space Consortium had a shorter lifespan than she, and she outlived them. Though, now that they were having to rebuild, perhaps it is the perfect opportunity for Eriana to take a piece for herself…

Strengths

Honest: Eriana is the speaker of her mind. Anything she thinks of is liable to be blurted out mere seconds later, whether or not it’s appropriate. At this point in her life, she’s overtaking other people’s shit and caring about what they think about her, so she goes about her life pretty carefree. This blunt honesty of hers has its drawbacks, making it hard for her to make new friends as she often ends up insulting them in the first few interactions because of how she ends up viewing them. However, even though that frequently happens she’s a pretty dependable underling as she won’t hesitate to do second guess orders and leaves the little question about where her loyalty lies.

Selfless: Kind, to a fault. Despite her tough and rugged exterior, Eriana is actually an open and warm person. While not exactly approachable, those who find that they can muster up the courage to strike up a conversation with her will quickly find that she’s only “mean” as a sort of survival instinct.

Weaknesses

Ambitious: A never-ending hunger for power and prestige. Ever since she was young, Eriana was indoctrinated with the idea that she was going to be great, and over the years she started to believe it. Her biggest dream is now to be a name that everyone in the galaxy knows, whether it be for good reasons or bad she does not care. This proves to be a problem for those who have a position she wants and for those who want to work lowkey, as almost everything about her is loud and proud.

Emotional: Often time, Eriana lets her emotions get the better of her, especially in times when they shouldn’t. Her feelings will eventually be her downfall, and she’s very aware of this but makes no effort to try and fix herself. How she feels about her comrades will almost always trump her well-being and objective decision-making. For example, if she hates her superior then best believe she will try her best to not only ignore their orders but actively try and get them fired. On the flip side, if she’s fond of a person then it’s highly likely that Eriana would go as for to take a bullet for them.

If you want loyalty from her, then appeal to her emotions. If you want to break her down, then attack them.
