When life gives you Mandos, make Mando'ade
Intent: A means of rendering conditional a character's contamination with Devaronian blood poison, or delivering Devaronian blood poison to a character.
Development Thread:
http://starwarsrp.net/topic/29180-alas-babylon-countermeasures-republicjedi/ (obtains thaissen crystals)
http://starwarsrp.net/topic/31552-rather-be-dead/ (creates Equivox)
Manufacturer: Silk Holdings/Consolidated Bacta Ltd.
Model: Pentacircarpous Haemodilitirion, brand name 'Equivox'
Affiliation: Open market
Modularity: Not without a new tech sub
Production: Minor (very expensive and exclusive medication for treating a single type of poison; most large hospitals would have a handful of doses, if that)
Material: One part micronized thaissen crystal, one part micronized Devaronian blood poison (DBP) crystal, one part photosensitive crystalline linkage
Description: After the maiming and poisoning of Mia Monroe by Nemene Talith, Rel Connory put his mind to the task of finding a solution. The resulting microscopic crystalline compound is fine enough to resemble icing sugar or talcum powder, and fine enough to be absorbed through slightly damp or oily skin. For a more reliable effect, it should be applied in solution with a syringe. If ingested, it can irritate the bowel but would be absorbed to a moderate degree.

Equivox is marketed and sold without the DBP component. Its primary function is to bind to DBP in a patient's bloodstream and accrete a small crystal of DBP, removing it from the blood. With a sufficient dosage, Equivox can remove 95% of DBP from the bloodstream within half an hour, generally leaving patients with a manageable level of pain.

Patients are strongly cautioned to avoid intense bursts of visible light in the red portion of the visible spectrum, as the compound is somewhat photosensitive.

The purpose of the thaissen crystal is as a regulatory mechanism tied to another agenda. Thaissen crystal generates mild electromagnetic radiation in the visible spectrum when exposed to Force energy; in other words, it glows, blue for Light Side and red for Dark Side. The crystalline bond which connects the tiny piece of thaissen with the tiny piece of DBP crystal is photosensitive to red light only (due to refractive angles and crystalline geometry, the bond cannot be modified to accept wider or alternate frequency sets). When the micronized thaissen crystals respond to very close emanations of the Dark Side (very close being less than a centimetre), they emit an infinitesimal red glow, which activates the bond and releases the DBP. In other words, when people are exposed to significant doses of Equivox which has already bonded with DBP, they are exposed to a poison which affects only Darksiders, and only Darksiders who are in the process of using the Force. The result is temporary but absolutely incapacitating.

As an example, Mia Monroe lives with constant agony and partially effective Crucitorn use. When Equivox entered her system, it bonded with 95% of the Devaronian blood poison in her circulatory system, reducing her pain to manageable levels. If and when she uses the Dark Side of the Force, DBP is released into her bloodstream. The resulting pain takes roughly ten minutes to half an hour to wear off.

Mindful of weaponization possibilities, Rel Connory opted for a wholly crystalline structure in order to fool sensors by its similarity to other crystals, especially in small amounts. Coming into possession of several small and insignificant holocrons and datacrons, he dusted their lattices with DBP-doped Equivox. The price of learning, after all, is pain, and he intended to exact that price on the Sith. It is even theorized that, with careful application of support materials, a false holocron could be constructed entirely out of Equivox.

Being crystalline, Equivox stores well and cannot go bad. It can be damaged by exposure to very intense light.
