Strengths:
Portable: With the capability of being disassembled between the weapon, the tripod, and the power generator, the EO-12 can be moved around a battlefield and assembled nearly anywhere, providing excellent fire support from flanking positions.
Support Fire: With a solid rate of fire and power per shot for a weapon of its class, in addition to its ability to be moved and set up anywhere on the battlefield, the EO-12 can be used to excellent effect in providing support, from covering retreating troops to suppressing a defending enemy and allow friendlies to move forward.
Weaknesses:
Size: Between the weapon itself, the power generator, and the tripod, the EO-12 is too heavy for a single trooper to carry, requiring a team of two to move and assemble the weapon on the battlefield. One trooper carries the weapon itself, and the other carries the tripod and power supply. This can leave it taking up significant storage and transport space, as well as taking approximate a minute and a half to set up on the field, leaving its operators exposed while in the process.
Exposure of Operators: In addition to the time taken to set up the weapon, it has no built-in protection for the operators, leaving them exposed to enemy fire while the weapon is in use.
DESCRIPTION
With the need to provide heavy fire support always present on the modern battlefield, the EO-12 is designed to both keep friendlies covered and intimidate enemies into taking cover. It sports a solid rate of fire and power per shot, but the weight of the weapon, tripod, and power pack require it to be operated by a crew of two: one to carry the tripod and power pack, and one to carry the weapon itself. All three pieces come with straps to easily carry them on the torso, allowing the crew to utilize primary weaponry such as blaster rifles while in transport.
