Enyo’s Cybernetic Implants

Intent: To rebuild Enyo and make her a cybernetic fighting monster for Archangel. This skeleton incorporates Phrik and other technology to make Enyo much stronger and more resilient, but with significant downsides too.
Development Thread: Yes.
Cats on Fire: Phrik is obtained from a raid on Sekalus. (30 posts)
We Can Rebuild Her…Whether She Wants It Or Not!: Enyo is rebuilt and her new skeleton is tested. (61 posts)
Manufacturer: Archangel Research & Design
Model: ARD-C002-001
Affiliation: Archangel, [member="Enyo Typhos"]
Modularity: No. Cybernetics can (but likely won’t) be covered by Synthskin.
Production: Unique – Enyo only.
Material: Phrik, cybernetic and electronic components.
Strengths:
  • Increased Strength. Enyo is now much stronger, able to operate at twice peak human strength, and for brief periods of time with triple strength. This allows her to punch, hit and lift much more than she could previously.
  • Increased Resilience. With her arms, legs, ribs and spine now made of Phrik, these areas are now lightsabre resistant and also strongly resistant to conventional weapons.
  • Gadgets. Enyo’s left hand incorporates a repulse hand, and the right incorporates a hidden mini-disruptor weapon (detailed below).
  • Menace. The cybernetics make Enyo taller, broader and more imposing than before.
Weaknesses:
  • Electrical Weakness. All droids and machines are vulnerable to ion and electrical weapons. In Enyo’s case this is especially dangerous as her breathing and movement as well as her spine are all controlled by machine parts. Unchecked, lightning or ion weapons can rapid kill her by rendering her unable to breathe or move.
  • Inhuman. The cybernetics are not covered, and so Enyo is clearly marked as a cyborg. It makes her disconnected from humanity and poor at infiltration.
  • Force Lapse. Enyo cannot use Force Lightning or ionise droid.
  • Cyborg. Though Enyo’s limbs, ribs and spine are Phrik her body is still organic. Thus it offers no special protection to hits to the torso or head.
  • Weight. Though Phrik is light, it is still heavier than flesh and bone. The cybernetics make Enyo considerably heavier than she was before. This means she cannot do acrobatics or expansive manoeuvres.
  • Lungs. Enyo’s lungs were replaced with a mechanical system. Though this is good at maintaining her breathing its noise and continual action is difficult to get used to. It also forms another point of failure if her cybernetics fail – this one fatal.

Description:
Enyo Typhos, the clone of Siobhan Kerrigan created by Archangel, was critically wounded during the bombardment of Korriban by Charzon Loulan. Her shattered body lived however and was returned to Archangel where they could remake her in their image.

Since it was determined that Enyo had not adequately served her purpose, a more martial bent was taken on her implants.
Using Phrik purloined from Sekalus, Archangel forged cybernetic arms and legs for Enyo which could be fitted to her shattered body. Immediately though they came to an issue. The added weight of the limbs plus the increased load from using their superior strength would cripple Enyo’s back. Thus the decision was taken to replace her entire spine with a phrik one.
This very complex procedure took many hours to accomplish but was at last completed.
A further area which needed replacement was Enyo’s lungs which had been seared by the blasts on Korriban. A mechanical set not unlike Darth Vader’s was implanted as a replacement. This necessitated the replacement of Enyo’s ribs as well as these had to be removed to access her lungs.
The Phrik limbs are covered with a Phrik ‘skin’ so the inner workings are not easily vulnerable.

In Enyo’s left arm is a Repulse Hand, a gadget which can deflect blasters and slow objects, as well as making a temporary melee weapon.

In Enyo’s right hand is a concealed weapon. Operating with specific hand movements or subvocalized commands, a short barrel emerges. This is mini ion disruptor which can be fired at close range.
The Disruptor can only fire 20 shots before it must be reloaded. This is done through a small hatch on the inner arm. The power cell is replaced.
The Disruptor is a strong weapon at close range. However, it has some key weaknesses:
  • It cannot disintegrate targets, but is still hideously effective against organics.
  • Accuracy is very poor as there are no sights.
  • Moderate number of shots per reload.
This has a single shot per two seconds firing action. Higher rates were preferred, but it was found it overheated the components unduly and caused too great wear.

All told this cybernetic upgrade has left Enyo stronger, more resilient, more imposing and with some fun toys to use on her enemies.
In strength she can now lift and hold twice what a human of peak capacity could do. This allows her melee attacks to be significantly stronger, her to continue for longer without tiring and being able to put her limbs in heat or other dangers an organic body could not endure.

However, there are also some pretty devastating weaknesses. Most notably that the replacement of so much of Enyo’s body with machine parts makes her vulnerable to electrical and ion weapons in a way which is fundamentally threatening. A particularly strong blast of lightning or ion pulse could render her unable to move and/or breathe.
She is now much more recognisable as her limbs are not covered by organic material. It also makes her unable to move as rapidly or as agilely as previously.
Finally, however much her limbs and skeleton are strong her torso and head are organic and vulnerable to damage as much as ever.
