Strengths:
Very high blaster resistance – The Duravlex used in the construction of this armour is capable of surviving extreme temperatures, and such can survived multiple shots from blasters.
Very high environmental resistance – The air filter and thermal suit allow for the wearer to survive in the harshest of environments.
Lightweight design
Stealth – The thermal suit can hide the thermal signatures of the wearer and the baffleweave under suit allow for the wearer to evade scanners and sensors.
Weaknesses:
Weak spots – To maintain the armours lightweight design, the duravlex plates have further spacings between them. Between these plates are weak spots for all types of damages.
Power cells – Power cells are required for the personal stealth design, air filter, and oxygen recirculatory system, however the protection offered by the armour is not inhibited.
Lower body armour – To ensure that maximum mobility is allowed for those wearing the armour, much of the legs and lower body have little or no armour. Because of this, any type of weaponry (blasters, kinetic weapons, explosives, etc.) that strike this area are likely to pierce the under suit and do damage to wearer.
DESCRIPTION
With the development of a new covert-operations mercenary squad, funded and utilised by The Orion Corporation, Jaccer realised the need for an armour system which allowed the wearer to survive in every known environment whilst maintaining a high degree of stealth. Hence, the Environmental Combat Stealth Armour was created.
The armour was designed to allow for high mobility in all terrain, therefore duravlex was used as the primary protective layer. This is an alloy of durasteel and Kevlar, allowing the armour to maintain a lightweight design and flexibility. The high heat resistance of the duravlex allows for it to be blaster resistant. The plates are also able to stop kinetic impacts but there will be significant energy transfer to the wearer.
The stealth features of the armour are what separates it from the rest. The Baffleweave used in the construction of the armour allow for the operatives utilising the suit to remain hidden from sensors and scanners. The thermal suit beneath the plating acts to control the temperature of the wearer, although it is also used to alter the heat signature of the wearer depending on the surrounding environment, allowing for them to not appear on thermal imaging. The final stealth addition is the layer silicon carbide that coats the entire armour. This layer gives the armour a black appearance, this absorbs light which allows for greater stealth at night or in the dark. The silicon carbide also absorbs radio waves, and so makes the armour not be detected by RADAR.
To survive in the harshest of environments, the Environmental Combat Stealth Armour employs multiple systems. One such system is the advanced air filter; this air filter is capable of removing all harmful elements in the air prior to the wearer breathing it in. Another feature is the thermal suit, this regulates the body temperature of the wearer so that they can continue to operate in conditions far colder or hotter than usually capable of. The final system is the oxygen recirculatory system, this system is capable of cleaning and reusing the same supply of oxygen (which is usually an hours’ worth) so that it can be used for 12 hours. The suit is also capable of taking the oxygen available in the atmosphere (not matter how little or much there is) and feed it into the system. This system does not function if the atmosphere of the air is breathable. The gas used in the system can be changed depending on the species utilising the armour.
