Description: Energy Crystal Cells were initially designed by Circe Savan of Subach-Innes to power high-energy, small-sized applications. Two main types of crystals exist - there are high-power types, energized with Force energy and Sith sorcery, and there are low-power types, electrically energized at factories, or via repeated artificial lightning strikes. The latter is more common, traditionally the size of a thermos(though crystals in sheet form have been used), and is easily capable of powering most vehicles, droids, and small to medium starships. Such however are far bigger and clunkier than standard energy cells, and most products using them will require adapters or significant modification to fit them.
The former, high-power energy crystals, are traditionally the size of a lightsaber crystal, and unlike synthetically produced crystals, which typically have a blue or green glow, crystals empowered with Force energy are typically either glowing dark purple, or completely clear with a white light. These carry a little more energy than their larger cousins, and are capable of fitting in the place of most standard power cells, but require someone skilled in the arts of Sith sorcery to make them. The creator must also know the proper ritual to create such crystals, otherwise the crystal may be easily drained of energy, or even explode.
These crystals can traditionally be used in place of most power sources, though for large warships, multiple crystals will be needed, as well as significant refitting. A "crystal reactor" designed specifically for starships is under design.
