"You have superior armor? Superior numbers? Bah. My heavy blaster cannon will make short work of them."
- Jorir Si'kayha Commando Boasting

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a heavy blaster cannon for Si'kayha of the Mandalorian Enclave.

  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Heavy Blaster Cannon
  • Size: Very Large
  • Weight: Very Heavy
  • Ammunition Type:
  • Ammunition Capacity: Very High
  • Effective Range: Long-Range
  • Rate of Fire: Very High
  • Damage Output: Very High
  • Recoil: High
SPECIAL FEATURES

    • Multiple shots overload energy weapon and deflector shield systems
  • Backplate-mounted power cell chamber
    • Greatly increases ammunition capacity
    • Allows for high-grade blaster gas per bolt
    • Insulated ammunition feed system from chamber to weapon
  • Glowrod attachment on the bottom of the barrel.
  • Electromagnetic Acceleration coils.
  • Modular Hardpoints [Grip, etc.]
  • Weapon targeting HUD integration.
STRENGTHS
  • Heavy Fire: The Kayaur excels as a heavy blaster cannon. The weapon's ammunition is high-grade, high-volume radiation-enhanced blaster gas; when combined with the disruptor components that increase damage output and armor penetration, it becomes absurdly lethal on the battlefield. Coupled with the rapid-fire rate of the blaster cannon, the Kayaur is able to lay waste to entire armies.
  • Ammunition Capacity: The backplate-mounted power chamber of the heavy blaster cannon allows for the continuous fire of the weapon without needing to worry about reloading. Rarely, even during the longest and most pitched battles, will a Kayaur run out of ammunition.
  • Durable: The weapon is of a rugged and durable design, able to withstand the most extreme of occasions. Unlike market-standard blaster weapons, the blaster cannon can be relied on to function even in undesirable conditions.
WEAKNESSES
  • Weight: The heavy blaster cannon is very heavy and requires a lot of strength to handle properly.
  • Size: The heavy blaster cannon is huge and unwieldy in close-quarter situations.
  • Recoil: The recoil of the weapon requires physical strength or a fixed mount to handle and prevent long-range inaccuracy.
DESCRIPTION
The Jorir discipline of the Si'kayha commandos focuses on survivability and the ability to both tank incoming damage and deal out even more damage in return. They are the traditional heavy infantry scaled to an absurd level, and in a similar fashion was the ENCL-43 Kayaur Heavy Blaster Cannon designed.

The heavy blaster cannon is quite heavy indeed. The blaster component of the weapon system is the standard size and weight for a rotary blaster cannon; that is to say, very large and heavy. But what comes, in addition, is a heavy backplate-mounted power chamber and cumbersome feeder tube into the weapon The power chamber is not optional, either; without it, the blaster cannon has no ammunition to expend. To top it off, the already-unwieldy blaster cannon suffers from high recoil requiring a great deal of physical exertion and consternation to handle the weapon.

So why bother?

Well, as one Jorir Si'kayha aptly put it, a big blaster means a big boom. And the Kayaur definitely creates a big boom. The bulky power chamber is there to spin high-grade T-33 radiation-enhanced blaster gas into the weapon, which when fed through the modified disruptor components at the high rate of fire that the blaster cannon possesses, creates such a level of destructive firepower that calling it a 'big boom' does not do the weapon justice. The volume of blaster gas per bolt is tuned to the highest possible, meaning that more gas is consumed per bolt fired when compared to the average blaster. And the large power chamber means that the Kayaur can do this on end for the duration of the entire battle and only rarely fully expend all of its contents.

With the heavy, shield and armor-penetrating fire of the Kayaur, the only matchup that a Jorir warrior is unprepared for would be against a Star Destroyer. And even then, it would be close.
