- Iron Law: The Ra'ntisr is an extremely deadly blaster pistol; in standard 'Marksman' mode, its long-range accuracy and high damage makes it a very dangerous weapon in the right hands. Featuring both elements drawn from conventional particle blasters and disruptor pistols, its armor-piercing, penetrative, and all around destructive properties are much more profound than a conventional blaster pistol of its caliber.
- Fan the Hammer: When the situation requires it, the Ra'ntisr can be toggled into gunslinger mode, increasing its rate of fire and damage at the expense of long-range accuracy and ammunition capacity. This makes it much deadlier in close-range situations and is useful when outnumbered by large groups of targets.
- Durable: The weapon is of a rugged and durable design, able to withstand the most extreme of occasions. Unlike market-standard blaster weapons, it can be relied on to function even in undesirable conditions.
- Trade-Offs: Depending on the mode, the user must sacrifice certain ratings for others
- Ammunition Capacity: When in Gunslinger mode, the weapon consumes ammunition at a higher rate; frequent use of the mode may require carrying additional power cells.
- Rate of Fire: When in Marskman mode, the weapon has a low rate of fire which makes it inefficient against large groups of enemies.
- Effective Range: When in Gunslinger mode, the weapon's effective range significantly decreases.
- Extreme Range Bloom: Over very long and extreme ranges, the accuracy of the heavy blaster pistol can become unpredictable and result in a 'bloom' that lessens the effectiveness of the weapon, while the blaster bolt itself can often dissipate and lose effectiveness over these extreme ranges as well.
To fire a blaster is one thing; to use it as if it were an extension of yourself, something more than components crudely strapped together to create lasers and noise? It is more than a skill -- it is an art. The art of the gunslinger.
The ENCL-21 Ran'tisr Heavy Blaster Pistol is one of the more finer weapons crafted by the Enclave's gunsmiths; it is intended to be a tasteful, elegant weapon of sleek design. And it is alos intended to be very, very powerful. The entire concept of the of the blaster revolves around the two interchangeable modes: its 'standard' mode, or 'Marskman' mode, or the alternate 'Gunslinger' mode. In marksman mode, the heavy blaster pistol functions as any weapon of its archetype would -- low rate of fire, with high accuracy and damage. When switching into gunslinger mode, however, the weapon's damage and rate-of-fire increase at the expense of worse recoil and effective range. The higher damage output also taxes the weapon's power supply at a higher rate, so frequent use of the gunslinger mode may require the user to carry extra ammunition. If the situation favors it, it allows for quicker drawing and better effectiveness against large groups of enemies in close ranges.
In either mode, the weapon is extremely powerful in its own right. With a mix of modified disruptor and particle blaster components, the weapon's damage output and penetrative capabilities are much more potent than standard heavy blaster pistols of the same caliber. On top of that, despite its ornate appearance the weapon is extremely rugged and durable, able to withstand extreme conditions and abuse, and is much more reliable than market-standard blaster weapons.
Altogether, for the Mandalorian gunslinger, the Ran'tisr is a wish come true, an instrument for them perfect their art.
