Empires past [Open to Imperial Remnant players]

Location: Kamino system systems edge

As the old Victor class Cruisers hyper drive finally failed and it's main reactors faltered it came out of hyperspace. It's battered busted up frame floating on low engine power it began to put out a signal. it was an old Imperial code signaling ship distress. Inside sat one man as he watched the cryo sleep chambers go thorugh the process of waking his men. As they slowly assembled he looked over them with a look of a man who jsut saw his friends arrive for a meeting. "Ladies and Gentlemen, i hope you all had a fine rest. As it stats now we have lost hyper space ability. However we seem to be in luck or perhaps not depending. We are in a habitable system but we do not know who runs it. Distress has been sent but who if anyone will answer is unknown. We must be ready in case the descendants of the rebels may be here. But enough of this topic. i have brought you back as I promised."

"My friends today we begin our efforts a new. Long ago the Empire reached across the Galaxy with power and authority. The Emperors word was law to all and to question it was death! But as we saw there are people who refuse to be ruled, and in the war our weakness was used to break our spines. My friends as you have known, I like war...no I love war. And today begins the step towards the war those like us ere made for. I have no doubt the rebellion is gone but it's creations and legacy remain. For those who drove us into hiding today we begin our plans to remind them why they so feared us. We are likely among the last of the old Imperial army. Veterans of a thousand battles. This time our foes will not see us coming as they did before and unlike Lord Vader i won't be waiting to see if we wiped out any Left over jedi he and his pathetic inquisitors forgot to look for on some backwater from gods know where! "

"However unlike the days of old we are stronger, having suffered the void for so long we have adapted, now we are a clenched fist ready to strike down all who oppose us. The war we come to bring will engulf the galaxy itself. My friends all I ask for is war, a war so grand the greatest Sith Lords of old would feel impudent in the face of it! Centuries of waiting now finally reward us with a chance to do what our Empire made us for. Only fools think you build death stars, massive armada's and legions of warriors to wage peace. Empires are made for war and soon we will be back to our war. Our purpose will once again be seen as we light the galaxy a blaze!: His men cheered, as they did he smiled finally all his efforts were coming to where he needed them to. Now they needed only await those who came to pick them up.

Purge squadron was one of the many TIE fighter squadrons in patrol among the space of Kamino. It seemed it would be another routine run for the elite fighter squadron and they boredly passed the time with idle talk.

"Purge one do you believe the Emperor uses the lou?"

Desmond smiled as the remark echoed through his comms. It had been a discussion among his squadron as of late. Whether or not their god king truly went potty like the rest of them. Desmond usually never took part in the debacle, but today (Bored out of his wits) He decided why the hell not.

"Of course he kharking takes sh!ts you dolt," Desmond replied through his comms. He smirked a little when his response was greeted with laughter from the rest of his team. But, just as the merriment began it ended. A large victory class vessel exited hyperspace dangerously close to Kamino. A strange thing though. It used old Imperial codes. Very old codes. IT easily could have been a trap, but purge squadron hailed them anyways.

"Victory class cruise. This is Purge squadron we have received your distress beacon and request permission to dock," Des said in his thick Imperial accent. It was only moments later that they received a short curt reply

"Permission granted,"

Purge squadron flew into the hangar bays of the cruiser and docked without being fired upon. So, Des supposed that to be a good sign. He exited his Tie without ceremony and gathered with his troops. They were greeted by a flight officer and gave him a swift salute and he saluted in return. Des noted the man's strange style of dress. It was Imperial, but somehow odd... As if older.

"Greetings commander, you are to come with me," The flight officer said

"Very well, lead on," Desmond had a bad feeling about all this. Everything aboard the ship seemed off. As if from a different era.
Still the special agents of Purge squadron would get to the bottom of the case.

Word quickly reached Wilhelm of their visitors and he smiled. "Good, then bring them here our guests no doubt will have questions and I believe we owe our guests answers." As he moved to his place on the old bridge he awaited. The Men would be lead through the ship it's storm troopers and officers and crew all moving about their duties like any other Imperial service member. upon arrival the head of the group would see a overweight lookign man in a old white Imperial uniform smiling as he turned to face them. "Ah good evening Commander. Please come in I am sure you have many questions. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Major Wilhelm Rehm of the first Galactic Empire. We have been a drift for a very long time. Can i get you anything?" He asked smiling his tone pleasant and enthusiastic. But his gaze as a power to it for sure.

Desmond dismissed his squadron to wait in the hangar bay. He followed the gray clad man throughout the bowels of the vessel. The architecture was similar to that of modern day Star destroyers, but lacking some what. The technology aboard the ship certainly needed an update. He passed several stormtroopers and flight officers whom all sported long hair. As if they had been in some sort of sleep chamber for a very long time. Desmond was quickly beginning to piece together the puzzle. Or, at least beginning to get the impression these men weren't from this era. They walked through several more bleak corridors before finally arriving at the elevator that would take them to the bridge.

They boarded the elevator and Des figured now would be the time to try and get a few answers. They had not fired on the Imperials, so a rogue warlord seemed out of the question. They had also transmitted the ancient codes, so they were supposedly friendlies. But, the whole thing still seemed... Odd. "So ensign," Des began "What Star system does your fleet hail from," But, des's cautious probe was met by a hmph and little else. Finally the elevator stopped and Des was admitted into the large bridge.

Before him sat a pudgy man in a white Imperial coat. He wore the rank of major and sported a pair of spectacles atop his face. The man dispensed with the pleasantries. Inviting Desmond to come in, offering drinks, and finally stating his name and rank. But, what bothered Desmond was his statement about how long they've been adrift.

"Hello Major Wilhelm. I am Desmond C'artyom. I'll have a Corellian brandy if you have it," Desmond said in his rich Imperial accent. "But, down to the meat of it. Your men are obviously Imperial, but your fleet has not shown up in any of our records," The Chiss said as his cybernetic mind raced through registered ships within the fleet. "Secondly your ship is out of date and in need of major repairs. How long exactly have you been adrift?"

He nodded and fetched the one bottle he had left pouring him a glass. Offering him it before thinking. "Well When last we were in combat was Jekku. After that our ship had suffered some and our forces were in retreat. The officers of higher level were foolish and began fleeing and trying to make treaties with the Rebellion. I refused so did my men. We began doing long hyperspace jumps and raiding former imperial stock piles that were abandoned. We've been in cycles of cryo sleep or most of us have ever since. So Given the look hmmm some 800 years" he spoke as if this were nothing odd. He smiled. Walking to one of his control panels he looked it over.

"I suppose the old girl does need some work doesint she? Suffice to say With the Emperor dead and no Lord Vader to choke the idiots out anymore we had leadership issues." His voiced indicated he held probably little respect for the man called Vader. "Only such foolishness then again allows a farm boy from the tail end of the galaxy to show up as a jedi and ruin things. Then lets the rebellion get plans to secret projects. I wonder how much we wasted on that idiotic inquisitor program."

Desmond took the glass offered to him and sniffed the liquor. The aroma was strong. As if the bottle had been ageing for quiet some time. Des took a small sip and rinsed his mouth with it. Enjoying the full flavor of so fine a drink. Then the Major told him something that almost made him spit it out. The battle of Jakku! That can't be right? Desmond thought as his eyebrows arched upwards. If the Major was to be believed then this ship was around eight hundred years old. He seemed so calm about it as well. Despite Des's inclination to believe Wilhelm was lying everything seemed to point to the contrary. Des surveyed the room once more and again took stock of his surroundings. The ship, the uniforms, all of it was from the golden age Empire.

Desmond downed the rest of his drink in one gulp. He was glad he had asked for it, for the information the Major had just given him was quiet a bit to processes. Eight hundred years old! The Chiss thought incredulously. He felt a slight rush go to his head and it wasn't all just the booze. He peered more closely at the Major this time. What stories the man must have to tell. What secrets does he know? Desmond thought curiously.
"So, tell me if I am understanding this correctly. You and everybody aboard this ship are eight hundred years old?" Desmond asked still unable to fully rap his mind around it.

He shook his head and dismissed the question "Yes.. I suppose you are," He said under his breath. Then Wilhelm began to speak of Vader as though he were a fool. Desmond hadn't truly read up on his history, but he had heard the name in passing. What he did know however was about the Inquisitors of old. "See Wilhelm. The Empire has changed. We no longer have inquisitors. Instead things are run by a sect of force users known as the Imperial Knights," This was a half truth. The inquisitors were still around, but their existence was to be kept secret and so Des did not inform Wilhelm of this.

This was unimportant however. If what the man before Des was saying was true then he may have valuable information that could prove a stupendous break through for the Imperial Remnant. "Major. I believe you may have information that would be most vital to our cause and I personally would like to re-enlist you; full rank in tittle," Desmond began with a smirk "Their is also someone I would like you to meet," Before Des had even finished his sentence a message was being sent out by his squad in the hangar to one Director [member="Travis Caalgen"].

The message read simply "Break through discovered. Request presence immediately."

"Well that would be nice I am not in the shape I was to begin academy from the beginning." he chuckled. Then the man spoke of information. "hmm what Information woudl that be Commander? I;ve seen many things but I also was only a Major in the army. I didint have access to every project. Especially few things that fell under Tarkins perveiw that man was very much a man with no desire to share things. So depending on what you wish to know I'll have varying levels of information. And some projects I am under strict orders to only discuss with those of appropriate clearance. No offense intended but as you understand those orders are to ensure the security of Imperial records." He truly woudl love to talk to the commander but he also knew blabbing classified information would be unwise without assurances on who gave authorization.

The Conqueror-class Star Destroyer Silencer would come out of hyperspace a few minutes after the message was sent to Director Caalgen. And not even seconds later did a Delta-class T-3c shuttlecraft descend from the hangar of that ship to dock with the Victory cruiser drifting afloat in space.

The Director would exit his shuttle immediately followed by his detachment of deathtroopers, making his way until he found who he was looking for. With a sharp stare the man opened his mouth.

"You called? Agent C'artyom?"

The man who had now showed up and within minutes stormed into the bridge wore the look of the old ISB officers and command Directors. The Black troopers beside him drew a noticeable frown from the major. "By the gods they brought that project back? So many disasters and here we are with little thought digging into Moff Tarkins old think tank again are we? I begin to suspect I know now what your Agent here was after. That awful weapon he got made that cost more than a thousand starships! The Death Star Projects, I was not on the management for those those fell to Tarkin, Vader one Orson Krennic though in what capacity I lack details. technical specifications were known only to engineers needed to maintain and repair it or operate it's systems. Any other technical data would have been in Imperial archives. One such archive was destroyed details were sealed by Lord Vader. All inquires were denied barring approval by upper command. You'll have more luck getting the data for that project from Tarkins dusted vaporized remains than you will trying to likely by now locate those files." He moved to sit in one of the chairs on the bridge.

He figured the relative Rank of the man before him. "As I told your Agent here good sir I am Major Wilhelm Rehm of the Imperial Army. Besides combat operations I headed a few projects regarding enhancement of biological life forms. This gave me SOME access to older projects. Your Death Troopers were another failed project I remember. I saved...some files but their limited and much of it is by now mostly theoretical work. But if oyu want information on projects I had knowledge of i can tell you of the failed Dark trooper program, the Death trooper phase out. My own augments." he smiled.

Desmond spied the Director approach and answered him directly. "Sir this man is over eight hundred years old with direct ties to the old Galactic Empire. I believe he may have something insightful when it comes to technlogical advancements.." The Chiss trailed off as the rest became obvious.

"Major I agree. The Deathstar projects were a complete waste of time. We have in fact, made a ship of similar design, but being far more cost effective. While it can't destroy entire worlds it can destroy starships in a single blow," The fact that one of these ships was no doubt hovering outside now with weapons trained at the Major's own ship would be plenty testament to everything the Chiss had just stated. "But, this is beside the point major. I believe you may have knowledge on the blackwing virus. Something we have been atempting to recreate for sometime now with little success," If the Major knew nothing of this biological experiment then perhaps he could at least provide some insight on the Dark trooper experiments as he mentioned before.
