Embracing the Sun (open)

Aaran left the training room going outside to the garden. He was not going anywhere near a bunch of busty old books. He would rather be dead than suffer that fate.

He went to the garden walking around the outside of it before going to the very center. He stretched out on his back tucking his hands behind his head letting the warm sun wash over him.

He closed his eyes and sighed. He never knew he could appreciate the sunshine. Then again this is the first time since he could remember that he had even taken a minute to even thing about it much less do it. Maybe the queen bee was not completely hopeless after all.

After a few minutes he propped up on his elbows looking around at the different plants seemingly dead to the world.

"Hey there, liking the garden?" Solan was laying above him in the crook of a tree as he looked down at Aaran. Running over his arms were various vines that seemed to have been growing and weaving a hammock like structure around him in order to keep him in place and stop him from falling. He stared down none the less at the man over the side of the hammock like vines.

He smiled though as he looked at the man he had yet to meet, It was always curious meeting new people. He wondered mostly though why this one had come to the garden, he did not seem like the type that enjoyed beauty but then again, solan did not look like one that would murder without hesitation at times. So he would see what this man had to offer in terms of conversation.

Aaran jumped slightly at hearing the voice not knowing anybody else was around. He looked at staring at the man for a moment before realizing who it was. He giving the man a nod........well I have shrug.

"It was the better of the two options and has turned out to be a rather peaceful endeavor."

Aaran sat up crossing his legs no longer looking up but still speaking to him.

"I know you don't I?" "You were the guy in charge during that resuce mission not long ago." "Pulling people out of the rumble on that half blown to bits planet."

Aaran chuckled to himself wondering if he had gone to the Library would it have been as empty as he had thought the garden was.

"Better of two options? Depending on that second option i must say i cannot quite agree with such but it is peaceful none the less... And yes. I was running the relief efforts and coordination on Daan, or Melinda, or what ever it is they want to call their home. Wish i could turn back time or create a place where the damage had not been touched but i could not. Perhaps the Vong... but not a conversation for now. What is the other option if you might mind my asking?"

Aaran chuckled at the man.

"The Library." "Nothing against intellectuals but I was raised a fighter not a scholar."

He shrugged.

"Guess it is detention for me when she finds out." "Oh well not the first time I have been in trouble."

"Ahh the library, a place of knowledge and advancement. Collector of all the knowledge that we have come to know or acquire. IT is a place you can not quite understand from a closed mind..." He smiled as the man mentioned himself getting in trouble before thinking. "Ok then fighter, get me down from this tree." He had a point to make about this man and he was going to ensure the point was made about it. His hands even weaved the vines closer around him to secure him in place. The point was simple, him like solan were only human and at times they required the help of more than their physical self.

Aaran looked at the man.

"Really?" "I am pretty sure you got up there just fine on your own." "Means you should be able to get down just fine on your own too."

He was sure this was some kind of test. He was certain of it. He still didn't care. If he was going to have to pay for not going to the library he was going to enjoy his time in the sun as long as he could.

"No offense but if I am going to get my teeth kicked in for being out here then I am going to make it worth it."

Aaran looked up at the tree and where the other man was.

"Beside I left my rocket launcher in my other robes."

Aaran smirked giving the man a sly wink.

"Odd... i have a question. You want to understand your power right, know what you can do and understand it on a level that others like myself do. Or would you rather simply just ignore the gift and live your life without it. My curiosity is genuine and i am more than glad to hear about it." His hands came to his lap as he waited to continue the conversation. If this one wanted to know about the force then he would need to devote more than just a passing interest in it.

Aaran shrugged.

"I was raised a pirate my whole life until a jacking attempt went south." "He died and I spent two years in a coma." "You speak of things I know nothing about but half the galaxy seems determined to lecture me about like I am supposed to have a clue what you are talking about."

He glanced out into the garden.

"I want my life back." "What do i care for power, or glory, or whatever it is you people keep lecturing me about." "It is like I am a child again trying to feel my way around the galaxy again." "Trying to relearn how to walk while being told to run."

He looked up at the man in the tree.

"Would you be eager to run if you were in my shoes?"

He watched the man, listened to him and studied him. His words, his eyes, his breath, his muscles. Every twitch, vibration, turn and curl. The air in which he spoke through and the speed at which those words traveled. Every ounce of what Solan looked for was there but all hidden before him in plain sight. "No..." He said as the question was posed. "I would not like to run in your shoes... and if you don't wish to learn, not know about the gift, why not just tell the one attempting to teach you. We are not like the Jedi or Sith, we respect one's decision to leave that Gift dormant."

Aaran laughed.

"Being taught and being expected to learn are not the same thing." "More to the point when the Kath Hound smells the Gizka does he leave it alone just because it doesn't want to be eaten or does it eat the Gizka anyway?"

He looked at the man.

"Is there such thing a civilian in a galaxy at war?" "Wanting to do something and needing to do it for survival is two entirely different things." "Sure I can fly a ship, sure I can shoot a blaster." "Not going to do much good against somebody that can kill you with a thought before you even know they are there now is it?"

[member="Aaran Calfan"]

"Well that depends, when i fight i am that pilot with a blaster, sure i know this little plant trick but there isn't much use for it on planets like tatooine or geonosis." His hand moved and the vines retreated from around him before opening up and letting him fall to the ground, creating a small push out as he used the force to cushion his landing.

"Have you ever fought? With a weapon i dont care or just your bare hands. I am curious if you ever fought before and how it felt to fight, what you thought about it after and if you would ever wish to do it again. You leave me curious on your answer and i must see what you experienced."
