DESCRIPTION
Forged as a deeply personal gift by Irina, the Emberfang blends the primal elements of fire, emotion, and predatory instinct. The blackened cortosis-alloy blade is shaped with a gentle curve reminiscent of a wolf's fang, honed through Sith alchemy to maintain a razor-sharp, almost unnatural edge. Designed with the recipient's shapeshifting ability in mind, the knife is lightweight, perfectly balanced, and functional both in humanoid hands and clenched between the teeth of his wolf form.
The most striking feature of the blade is the set of runes carved along its spine. These runes were created through a pyromantic ritual in which the Irina poured a fragment of her own fire-aligned Force essence into the metal. As a result, the blade carries an internal ember, a quiet, living heat that responds to Aerik's emotional state. In moments of fear, rage, desire, or fierce protectiveness, the runes flare to life in glowing red patterns, and the blade gently warms in Aerik's hand. This heat is not enough to burn, but enough to cauterise minor wounds on impact and to reduce friction through flesh and hide, making the weapon lethally efficient in hunting or assassination.
The knife is built for survival, close combat, and instinct-driven violence. When emotion surges, the blade's cutting potential subtly increases, allowing it to punch through tougher hide or armour more easily. However, this connection to emotional heat also creates vulnerability, should Aerik be forced into emotional numbness or heavy meditation, the runes fall dormant, and the blade behaves like a standard (though still exceptionally well-forged) knife.
In battle, the Emberfang is a weapon of passion: it shines brightest when Aerik is burning internally. In quiet moments, it remains warm a low, comforting reminder of Irina, and of the fire she willingly placed in his hands.
