+ Intelligent - "Elsi" is an incredibly well-read and well-studied individual. She is versed in a wide range of topics ranging from engineering and technology, to medical science and biochemistry.
+ Practical - Knowledge is always put to good use and applied in some way. Elsan does not learn for learning's sake, but to supplement and satisfy a wellspring of curiosity and fascination.

Personnel Elsan Soban, born Clea Elson-Soban, hails from the central deserts of the planet Alexandria, homeworld and capital of the Commonwealth. Born among the desert clans, she has been known for her inclination for exploration, engineering, and medical sciences. Only a relative handful of her kin have been noted to be Commonwealth military personnel. She grew up piloting skimmers across the great dune seas of Alexandria, often making long runs between settlements with her siblings and friends. She was initially recommended for recruitment into a military academy following observed adeptness at building, operating, maintaining and augmenting machinery of almost any sort. Electronics and computers seem to come naturally to Elsan.
Initial years as a recruit were unremarkable, but eventually Soban's remarkable knack as an engineer; pilot, and also her noted skills in working the medical bays, were noticed by senior instructors and directors. Classmates have repeatedly highlighted her passion for machines and medical science, as well as her skills as an accomplished vehicle driver/pilot. Instructors have made no comments on any remarkable or substandard combat performance on Elsan's part. Commonwealth researchers and engineers she worked with as part of either practicum training or for special projects have made remarks on her ingenuity and extraordinary analytical abilities.
Elsan Soban graduated from the academy at the age of 22, and now serves in the Commonwealth Army. Across a number of minor skirmishes, counter-uprisings and counter-terrorism campaigns, she has acted in several designations: Chief Engineering Officer, Chief Science Officer, Chief Communications Officer, as a pilot/tank driver, and as a researcher. Close colleagues have noted her pastime of drawing up ship/vehicle designs for the Commonwealth's planetary defense forces.
