Intent: To create a traditional weapon for the Eldorai which is being superceded by both the blaster and the bolter. This weapon will essentially be a halfway point between blasters and slugthrowers, with strengths and weaknesses from both.
Development Thread: If needed.
Manufacturer: Eldorai armouries.
Model: Mk XVIII Eagle Pattern Staser Pistol
Affiliation: Eldorai/Kaeshana Confederation
Modularity: Sights can be swapped out.
Production: Mass-Produced
Material: Equivalent of blaster components.
Classification: Energised slugthrower.
Size: Handheld
Length: 30cm
Weight: 1.5kg
Ammunition Type: Solid projectiles magazine.
Ammunition Capacity: 30 rounds per magazine.
Effective Range: 30 metres effective, 100 metres dangerous if hit.
Rate of Fire: Semi-automatic. Firing rate 550 rounds a minute.
Special Features:
  • High rate of fire.
  • Good accuracy from single shots.
  • High magazine capacity.
  • Relatively poor penetration compared with blasters and bolters.
Description:
The counterpart of the staser rifle, the pistol version is essentially the same weapon, but cut down to a smaller size. Like the rifle, the pistol fires metal spikes, but these are smaller again, a mere 2cm long, and thus penetration is even more reduced than the rifle.
However, on the plus side, a pistol’s primary ability is not to penetrate armour, but to be a backup and support weapon, thus the staser pistol might yet live on as a backup weapon for officers. Having said that, it’s lack of penetration, high cost to maintain and create and association with the ‘old ways’ may well see it eventually join its longer cousin on the scrapheap of history.
