GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: Eight Arrows Sect
  • Classification: Force Order | Religious Cult | Martial Arts Order | Monastic Order
  • Affiliation: Agents of Chaos, The Silencers
  • Organization Symbol: Symbol of Chaos
  • Colors: Pink, Purple, Magenta, and White
  • Description: The Eight Arrows Sect is a Force and Martial Arts Order which was established on the Scintilla after the conception of the Silencers. Although they are a sect within the Silencers, they are largely independent in handling their internal affairs. However, they receive the bulk of their funding directly from their host organization, the Silencers.
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy: The leader of the Eight Arrows Sect is known formally as the Grand Abbess. Her duties are to lead the Council of Abbesses, administer the overarching directives of the sect, and to facilitate communication with the Silencers. Directly below the Grand Abbess in the hierarchy are the Abbesses. The responsibilities of these individuals are to attend the council and oversee the day-to-day affairs of the sect. Below the Abbesses in the hierarchy, Prioresses are responsible for training lower-ranked members, serving as exemplars, and for leading initiates and disciples during excursions and other external operations. Disciples are the most numerous members of the sect, and their responsibilities are to execute and fulfill duties, missions, and various tasks which are integral to the objectives of the sect. Finally, Initiates are prospective members of the sect, who are undergoing their trials of initiation. Only a small percentage of Initiates become full members of the sect.

    • Eight Arrows Adept (Disciple)
    • Eight Arrows Apprentice (Disciple)
    • Eight Arrows Novitiate (Disciple)
    • Eight Arrows Initiate
  • Membership: Prospective members must be women in order to be considered for admission into the sect. Non-force sensitive individuals are welcome (and encouraged) to apply for admission as well. However, their initiation trials are considerably more difficult than those for Force-sensitive individuals. Potential members must also pass rigorous standards of physical fitness (especially Non-Force sensitive recruits), and be prepared to demonstrate absolute loyalty to the sect, and by extension, the Agents of Chaos. As of 862 ABY, there are slightly less than 20 full members of the sect.
    • The Initiation Trials: The Initiation Trials are a period of rigorous tests which may last up to twelve months, during which Initiates must prove that they are capable of adhering to the rigorous standards of the sect. During this period, they undergo a number of grueling trials which are designed to challenge their willpower, endurance, and strength of character. While failure is discouraged, it is not a basis for dismissal, since the trials are intended to be a test of willpower, not ability to succeed. As such, the trials are designed to such a demanding extent that candidates will typically remove themselves. However, those candidates who are judged to be weak in willpower and who do not withdraw on their own will typically be asked to leave. Theoretically, it is possible for an individual to fail all of the trials and still be granted full membership to the sect if their willpower is judged to be strong. The inverse scenario is also quite possible.
  • Climate: The Eight Arrows sect maintains a hyper-disciplined atmosphere within the organization, which is characterized by extreme devotion to Discordia, near-constant martial arts and Force training, and rigorous study. All members take vows of poverty and limited celibacy, and in doing so they are not permitted to own property beyond modest personal possessions or to marry, although they are not restricted from sexual activity or intimate relationships. However, during periods of personal time, members maintain a lighthearted manner, often indulging in hobbies, playing sports and various games, making playful conversation, and building deep interpersonal relationships. Contrary to perception, members of the sect are not reclusive and they almost always enjoy more personal time during holidays and on at least one day out of the week.
  • Reputation: The existence of the Eight Arrows Sect is completely unheard of outside the Scintilla, and within the greater galaxy. Within the Scintilla, they are virtually unheard of, especially since even fewer people are aware of their existence than there are those who know of the Silencers. Rank-and-file assassins of the Silencers are typically aware of their existence, but only a few high-ranking members of the Wild Hunt and the Armada know of them. Needless to say, all of the Firsts are aware of the sect’s existence, as well.
  • Curios: Full members of the Eight Arrows Sect receive a single Force mark on their bodies, drawn in the shape of the symbol of Chaos. It is imbued with a small essence of Discordia’s blood which ties them directly to the Dark Lady of Chaos. Each member also receives their own personalized weapons and armor, which are typically crafted within the Dark Forge. Members of the Order very rarely use guns, even among the Non-Force sensitive sisters. Instead, they typically opt for lightsabers, vibro weapons, Force-imbued weapons, energy bows, or other types of “archaic” weaponry.
  • Rules: In addition to their vows of limited celibacy and poverty, members of the Eight Arrows Sect are sworn to a rigorous set of eight tenets which all full members of the sect are expected to adhere to at all times.
    • The Eight Arrows of Devotion
      • Pray to Discordia, thrice daily. Once in the morning, once during the peak hour, and once at dark.
      • Protect your sisters, obey your mothers, and serve the sect.
      • Strive always for divine perfection.
      • Serve and shield the innocent. Do not surrender to the whims of Bogan.
      • Own no property. All shall be held in common. Do not exploit another for profit or personal gain.
      • Sustain faith in Discordia. Serve her divine mission and bring chaotic peace to the galaxy.
      • Your body is the temple of Discordia. Protect, maintain, heal, and cherish it.
      • Suffer in faith.
  • Goals: The primary mission of the Eight Arrows Sect is to serve Discordia and her divine mission in bringing about peaceful chaos to the galaxy. Implicitly, this objective necessitates the toppling of virtually all forms of intersystem states, especially those that fail to distribute the essential resources of life in an equitable manner. To that end, the Eight Arrows Sect mandates that each of its members train extensively in the Force and/or martial arts (Exclusively for Non-Force-sensitive members). In supporting Discordia’s divine mission, the Eight Arrows also render aid to civilians. This largely takes the form of healing, but also charity missions to the poor and various forms of community service. Sisters of the sect are also expected to assist in administering religious services to civilians within the Scintilla.

Fàn Jia Li (Eight Arrows Grand Abbess): A former Jedi Master of an Atrisian Jedi Order, Fàn Jia Li is an extremely talented swordswoman who is especially skilled in the Jar’Kai form. Having occupied a position of great respect and esteem within the Jedi, Jia Li rose quickly through the ranks due to her prodigious skills, especially pertaining to her martial talents and nigh-immaculate Force-crafting techniques. However, Jia Li quickly became disillusioned with the Jedi after perceiving their growing tolerance for Jedi who exploited their powers for personal gain within the greater galaxy. She also grew dissatisfied with the limits of the Light Side, especially after reading the texts of a few other Force-based organizations in the galaxy, many of which supported a more neutral interpretation of the Force. In the wake of her increasingly radical philosophical and political beliefs, Jia Li left the Jedi Order with two of her former Padawans and eventually found her way to the Agents of Chaos. By this time, she had developed a coherent set of radical anarchist political beliefs, which predisposed her to the mission of Discordia and the objectives of the Agents of Chaos. Jia Li quickly pledged herself to Discordia’s service, and within a few months she successfully constructed the foundations of her own sect within the Silencers.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Eight Arrows Sect was formally established in 860 ABY by Fàn Jia Li a few months after she departed from the Atrisian Jedi and pledged herself to Discordia’s service. In the months after the sect’s establishment, Jia Li trained her first classes of candidates and began to fill out the ranks of her sect. As a sect beneath the Silencers, the Eight Arrows received a great deal of material support and financial support from the organization during its first months. Although the sect is not entirely self-sufficient, as an institution, it has already generated a number of talented Force users and martial artists, all of whom are extremely capable and dangerous combatants, rivaling that of Jedi and Sith.
