[SIZE=9pt] [/SIZE][SIZE=9pt]Drystan designed “Edylon” as a highly functional, versatile tool; purpose-built to accompany her on any mission she’d be unable to wield a larger lightsaber. As the majority of her missions are predicated on remaining entirely unseen, her shoto has been built to withstand the most rigorous conditions & electronic detection methods. The shoto is incredibly slim with no snaggable edges, allowing it to be concealed nearly anywhere, and is ruggedly elegant in appearance - not at all built to draw the eye, but beautiful in its’ simplicity. [SIZE=9pt] Edylon is impervious to water damage & EMP Interference, is incredibly durable, and is very difficult to detect by electronic means (due to the use of a protective Nykkalt shroud which completely protects the Power Supply Assembly & two crystals). A small concealed dataport within the pommel provides secure & secret data storage. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt] A small number of highly advanced modifications have been built into the Shoto; firstly, the weapon is activated via an internal activation switch which must be triggered through telekinetic manipulation. To activate the lightsaber, one must know the precise location of the switch within the hilt itself, then depress the small silver button on the device; this engages the weapon’s “deadman switch”, completing the circuit and allowing for ignition. To engage the blade lock, the wielder may then depress the larger red button. Disengagement is achieved by pressing the red button, which deactivates the lightsaber until the deadman’s switch is depressed again. The wielder may actuate the internal mechanism through The Force, thus rendering the weapon entirely inert. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt] Secondly, through painstakingly detailed & intricate modifications, Edylon has been equipped with a series of energy baffles surrounding the shoto’s emitters; this effectively renders the device silent upon activation & during use. It does nothing to affect the lightsaber’s signature glow. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt] Finally, the addition of a secondary crystal (Stygium, in-fact), allows the Shoto to be utilized underwater through a Cyclical-Ignition Pulse module, as well as providing powerful bonuses to Drystan’s own stealth-related Force Abilities. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=10pt]Improved Cutting Strength: Due to the inclusion of a Nextor crystal as its' primary focusing crystal, Edylon possesses slightly increased cutting ability compared to a normal lightsaber.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Deflection: Energy bolts, like those fired from a blaster, can be blocked or deflected.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=10pt]Cuts both ways: As the lightsaber “blade” is wholly made up of a superheated plasma shaft, it’s as much a danger to the wielder as the target.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Cortosis[/SIZE][SIZE=10pt]: When the blade comes in direct contact with cortosis ore, it will short out momentarily. Blade may be reactivated. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Projectiles: In its default state, the lightsaber isn’t very good at blocking or deflecting solid projectiles. Its energy output isn’t high enough to vaporize them, especially those forged from lightsaber resistant materials, thus creating a spray of molten metal harmful to the wielder.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Exotic Energy Weaponry: The lightsaber doesn’t perform well blocking certain kinds of exotic directed energy weapons, like sonic blasters, [/SIZE][SIZE=10pt]particle beams[/SIZE][SIZE=10pt], and [/SIZE][SIZE=10pt]paddle beamers[/SIZE][SIZE=10pt]. To a lesser extent, even blaster weapons can be effective in certain configurations, like a [/SIZE][SIZE=10pt]blast cannon[/SIZE][SIZE=10pt].[/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Visibility: The bright silver blade of plasma makes the user easy to track both visually and nonvisually through energy receptors, even if previously stealthed.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=10pt]Short Blade: With only a 53 cm (21 in) blade, Drystan faces a significant disadvantage if engaging a weapon with a longer reach.[/SIZE]
