STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:

+ Survivor: Edric has had to fight to survive his entire life, starting from when he was a mere 8 years old. He has become capable of surviving in the harshest of climates.

+ Quick to Learn: Edric is a fast learner, able to grasp new concepts and ideas quickly due in part to The Force, and in part to his developed skill of adaptability and survival.

+/- Passionate: While it may take him time to warm to a purpose, when he becomes passionate about something, it often consumes him, which can be incredibly helpful but is also a weakness.

+/- Untrained Force: While Edric has an extremely deep connection to the Force, he has no formal training aside from self training via the ancient journal of an ancient Sith Apprentice. While this can allow him to tap into extremely powerful abilities, it can also backfire, causing adverse effects or completely unanticipated manifestations of the Force.

- Short Tempered: Edric has spent his life forcing down his emotions, bottling them up inside. Much of this anger has festered and wells up unexpectedly at times. Something small can set him off.

- Impulsive: Edric has yet to understand the quality of patience, typically choosing the most direct and quickest path to an objective or outcome, especially when that route is violence. This is in part, due to his younger age, he does not have the benefit of wisdom from years of experience.

APPEARANCE:
Edric is relatively short for his age (5' 7''), most of his peers would likely stand several inches taller than he. His once blonde hair has now gone a darker brown, presumably an effect of the darkness he experienced on Ziost. He is slim of figure and has a narrow face. His eyes are a blue/gray color, and appear to change slightly depending on his mood. He has begun to grow facial hair, though he tends to keep it shaven as it hasn't fully come in yet and gets patchy.

BIOGRAPHY:
Edric was born to William and Miya Kedaan on the planet of Almania. His parents were poor, much like the rest of the population as a result of the planet’s troubled history. They made due, but there were days when dinner consisted of water, a few leaves of the local fauna and some rocks thrown in for flavor. Despite the family’s shortcomings, his father and mother always made sure to put him first, any food they were able to get went to Edric first. They cared for him as best they could, living out of the small shack they rented. While he was an infant, his mother stopped working to care for him. As he grew, his mother returned to work, working in the fields harvesting crops while his father went off to the mines located outside the city they lived in. Edric was often left on his own to scrounge and provide for himself during the day and as such discovered he had a hidden talent for hiding and misdirection. Unknown to himself this was in part due to The Force. Edric had been born under pretty typical circumstances for a poverty stricken world, the birth was messy… unsanitary, and far from easy but by the time it was over, the doctors were shocked he had survived the ordeal. Over the course of his first 7 years he became aware of innate abilities he had, but he didn’t understand them and didn’t know where they came from; things such as the ability to hear and sense things in the air, and to hide himself.

8 years from his birthdate, his parents told him a secret they had been keeping. They would be leaving Almania behind… in three days. They had been slaving for the past six years, determined to secure a better station for their son… so that he could live a life away from the poverty and hardship found on Almania. They would be boarding a shuttle bound for Telos where they would be able to live a better life and climb out of the poverty they lived in. He was scared at first, all he’d ever known was life on Almania. Perhaps it was the manner in which they told him that caused him such fear… they awoke him in the night, their bags (The few belongings they owned) packed and in hushed tones his mother explained they needed to leave. He began to question them… why must they leave, why are they leaving in the middle of the night… the questions went unanswered except for with a hush and a stern look from his father, peering out the front door of their dwelling, nervously eyeing the streets. Hastily they travelled between the buildings, avoiding the main streets and causeways. Eventually they reached it, a small warehouse with large doors taking up the entire ends, inside a small shuttlecraft sat, its lights and engines off, silent figures huddled near where the cargo ramp had been deployed. As they approached they were shuffled up into the ship, many others had also managed to secure transport as refugees on this shuttle craft it seemed. Many families were crammed into the seating area, there were a few men in uniforms, blasters strapped to their belts seeming to orchestrate the chaos. As everyone finally made it into the shuttle, the doors closed, a brief address from one of the security guards silencing the passengers. He advised them to remain quiet, stay seated, and above all else… Do not panic if they experience turbulence, they would be travelling through some rough patches in space.

Edric’s parents knew the risk they were taking, trying to flee Almania, refugees weren’t exactly just allowed off planet. They knew however that they didn’t want their son living in the mess of their old home… and they were willing to sacrifice everything for it, for Edric. As they sat waiting, Edric had fallen asleep on his mother’s lap, her arms wrapped protectively around him. His father sat next to them, his watchful gaze checking on the two, forcing a smile at his wife. He reassured her… “Everything is going to be okay… We need this… Edric needs this.”

Momentarily a quiet hum could be heard, ever increasing in magnitude as the ship’s engines roared to life. Dim lights flickered on above the passengers, a hushed gasp coming from the rear of the shuttle followed by a few hushed tones. “Don’t worry now, we’re almost there…” More families reassuring their loved ones that this risky venture was indeed going to be worth it. As the shuttle’s engines grew from a hum to a loud roar inside the hangar, shadowy figures began opening the bay doors, the dark night illuminated by a sharp beam entering the now open doors. Someone had talked… Outside, Security Forces could be seen their armed speeders forming a semicircle around the entry, a voice over a loudspeaker barely audible, calling for them to shut down the ship’s engines and surrender. The call was ignored as the shuttle lurched forward, blasting just over the speeders, a few stray laser blasts bouncing off the hull as it rose higher, angling towards the atmosphere. As the blasts hit the ship, a few screams could be heard from the rear of the shuttle, a woman hysterically crying out as the people around her attempted to suppress the screeching.

The shuttle bucked and rolled as it exited the atmosphere at a much faster rate than was intended, the brief but intense turbulence rocking its occupants and waking the young Edric. His heart rate picked up and he began to cry as the world shook around him. His father and mother wore tense expressions, his father’s hand on his shoulder the only thing keeping Edric from crying out in fear, and it was his first truly terrifying experience. As the ship broke clear of the atmosphere into space, the turbulence subsided. As it did so, sighs of relief could be heard throughout the cabin, the worst of it was over, and they’d broken free… Edric scooted over towards the nearest window port, his nose pressed against the reinforced window. As he looked out into space he could see the planet behind them, stars surrounding them in the distance… as he peered out, the ship adjusted its flight path, cutting away from Almania. A flicker of light caught his eye, the engines once more spooling even higher as they prepared for a hyperspace jump. Again, another flicker of light coming from the darkness of space… it appeared the speck of light was growing closer… and that’s when his father roughly pulled him away from the port.

It was a ship… a very bright green ship… Edric had seen that much, but what intrigued him more were the small beams of light coming from the ship, small red traces in the vastness of space. Now the ship was closer, a noise could be heard over the shriek of the shuttle’s engines. Another round of cries could be heard as loud thumps could be heard against the hull of the shuttle. Immediately Edric’s mother wrapped him in her arms, tears rolling down her face, Edric’s father gripping the seats tightly. A look of fear crossed the boy’s face before he buried it into his mother’s shoulder, gripping her tightly. Three jarring thumps could be heard and felt through the entire hull of the ship as it jumped into hyperspace… and then it was quiet.

Story Continues...

--------------------O--------------------
The only survivor of a shuttle crash in the wastes of Ziost, Edric stumbled across an ancient Sith ritual site. The site was old, remnants of the Force still present, emanating from deep within the earth. Edric didn't realize it till later, but it was these dark auras and his connection to the Force that kept him alive. After several weeks of living in the cave, he had a dream, a dream of a door opening in the side of the cave he now called home. How it was opened he didn't know. It led to a collection of small chambers hewn into the rock... and then darkness. The dream was short, devoid of any true meaning, but the dream consumed him.

One evening, consumed by the dream, he went to the back of the small cave and pressed his hand to its surface. The rock, normally cold to the touch seemed to pulse with energy, warmth traveling from its surface into his hand, through his arm. It was as if a cloud of energy had descended on his mind, but instead of confusion it granted clarity. With only a thought, a recalling of the dream, a grating sound filled the cave, a section of wall rumbling as it descended, a man sized doorway opening. For a moment he thought he was dreaming, but then the warmth slowly receded, the rock becoming cold once more. He had been living in this cave for weeks and just now discovered the caverns... It took less than a minute for himself to gather the courage he needed to descend into the opening.

Inside he discovered the remnants of a home, apparently the small hermit hole of a Sith named Hosh’pek Valari. The Sith had been on the edge of discovering something secret, something ancient. What that was, Edric never found out. Edric moved into this small series of caverns, investigating the remains of the hermit's abode. He found many texts along with the journal, some of them ancient, their pages brittle with age. It appeared the man had never subscribed to technology. Edric has read the journal from front to back, but much of it was in an old dialect or a different language and he was unable to grasp the most basic of the sentences.

The journal was large, in a leather bound book, the hide of some native animal. It contained enough information about the Force, and the Sith's personal journey through the Force for Edric to learn, to begin his own journey. In addition to the journal and a few other ancient texts containing Sith history, he found a drawer full of writing equipment. He has since begun his own journal, albeit less elegant than that of the Sith.

He lived there for years, testing his newfound abilities, not fully coming to master them, but enough to do things a normal human couldn't. Around the age of 16, he deserted the cave, heading towards the equator of the planet where he was set on by a small band of hunters. He was able to overcome them, stealing their small ship and escaping the planet.
