Private Eclipsing Her Future

Lori wasn't always sure about stopping anywhere these days. Being the Face of the Eclipse Rebellion had quite a lot of drawbacks. It was always safer for her to be on one of her ships and on the move. But without fuel, her ships would go nowhere.

Parked in a spaceport, the Jaster's Delight was getting refuelled. There were some minor repairs to be done as well. So it wasn't like it was just going to be a few minutes delay. She had a couple of hours to kill. Possibly more.

With a hooded cloak to hide some of her Rebel Ops armour, blaster on her left hip and dagger in her right boot, she decided to head to the shopping district. There was a wedding in her future and she kind of was in need of a dress. Maybe here she'd get a few ideas.

As Overseer, the term I prefer is Director, of the Science Development Program of the Eternal Empire kept me busy when not fighting the enemy of the Empire. Most of my time was spent at The Royal Institute of Science overseeing several projects beneficial to the Empire, and malicious to our enemies. Due to my position, I often find myself visiting other science facilities, speaking with scientific scholars, recruiting said scientific scholars, or running down leads of scientific importance. It was the latter what brought me to this planet.

The instance I disembarked from my personal ship, Aries XIII, I could feel a sensation coursing throughout my body that this day wasn't going to turn out the way I expected. I don't possess precognition, but I am strong in the Dark Side of the Force; and it was whispering lullabies into my ears. My appearance did not announce me as a Force wielder, or Sith despite the encroaching physical corruptions. I took proper precautions to hide my twin hilts from prying eyes. And the crystals inside my weapons hid my presence in the force to other Force sensitives. My reasoning for being here was to visit a contact who knew a man who stumbled upon some ancient tablet that they thought was a chemistry or genetic formula from days gone by. As history goes, there were a few ancient cultures, now extinct, believed to have tampered with the genetic coding of other species. If this tablet was true, then it would unlock several potentials for the Empire.

On my way to the man's lab, I passed through the shopping district. Every kiosk, tent, and vendor was nearly packed. I can't fathom the idea of working for your credits, only to waste them on materialistic items.
