Corbin stood before the magnificent entrance of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, the ancient structure towering above him like a beacon of serenity. With a determined expression etched upon his face, he approached the imposing doors, his footsteps echoing through the grand courtyard. Just as they were approaching upon the giant-like doors, a formidable figure emerged from the shadows, clad in traditional Jedi robes.

"State your purpose," the Jedi's voice carried an air of authority, his eyes scanning Corbin's body.

Corbin should've thought about this a bit more clearly. He had a feeling that asking to just casually see a Jedi Master wouldn't be easy. "I'm here to see a friend. Master Jedi Valery Noble." The eyes of the Jedi were critical. "Access to the Jedi Temple is limited to those chosen by the Force or individuals with explicit authorization. Do you possess such authorization?" Corbin froze, not knowing what to say next. He didn't think the Jedi Temple would be this tightly guard... he supposed it would make sense, considering how valuable they are to the Galactic Republic.

"I thought not. I'm sorry, but if you do not have any real reason to be here, I must ask you to leave." Corbin sighed... maybe he should try and call Valery instead? Does he even have her holonumber?

Valery was reading through a report on her datapad while she walked through the Temple, when she felt a familiar presence. It wasn't too strange usually in a Temple full of Jedi she knew, but this presence in the Force was very different. She stopped, turned her eyes in the direction of the entrance and spent several seconds focusing on it. Then she finally realized who it was, and blinked in confusion.

Why was he all the way out here?

After a short walk, Valery stepped outside and spotted the Jedi Temple Guard who forced the man to turn away. He was just doing his job, and Valery felt grateful for it, but she was glad that she had felt something, or she would have missed this visit entirely. As far as she remembered, she never gave him any contact details after the battle. He had been rushed to a military hopsital while she took part in the debriefing process.

"Lieutenant?" Valery asked when she made her way down some of the steps to catch up. But rather than bring him up to the Temple, she gestured for him to follow her while they walked away from the entrance. She couldn't really bring someone inside just like that, unless it was an emergency.

"I didn't expect you here, but it's good to see you. Did you make a full recovery?" She looked him over once, as if she'd be able to tell just by looking at him.

"Lieutenant?"

Valery's voice broke through Corbin's and the Jedi's conversation, and he turned to face her, a hint of surprise evident in his expression. As she gestured for him to follow, he fell into step beside her, their footsteps echoing against the temple's stone steps. The imposing structure loomed behind them, a silent witness to their conversation.

He chuckled when she asked about him making a full recovery, as well as her straightforward scanning of his body. "Good as new. Medical facility patched up all the wounds and burns, and I'm ready for the next time we take over a fortress." but he expected that second question to come along, or at least he feels like it's lining up to that point. She's clearly surprised to see him here. "I've been granted a bit of breathing leeway, dropped on Coruscant for a few weeks. I thought I'd stop by." there were some... inquires and questions placed into his squad, with the death of Hammer and Corbin's own injuries nearly claiming his life, they were being audited for quality. To either disband their squad and merge to a pre-existing battalion, or if the audit can prove that they give enough results to justify continuing to exist. But he wouldn't freak her out with that one. He's sure that she has problems of her own to worry about.

"How much do you know about Coruscant? I've been around some shady corners here and there for the fun of it, but that's more on the lower levels. Anything fun up here?" he could be referring to the Jedi Temple, but very well the actual upper levels.

"I'm glad to hear it," Valery said, her gaze now shifting to the horizon as they stepped away from the Temple. "Next time, just try to not get blown up, hm?" She smirked but she was still admiring the vast view from where they were standing. At least, until he mentioned that he had been given some time off. It wasn't uncommon for soldiers who had nearly lost their lives to be allowed some time to recover both physically and mentally, but why Coruscant?

If she were him, she'd have gone somewhere a little more peaceful and quiet.

"I know a decent bit about the planet," Valery then said in response to his question. "I obviously spend plenty of time up here at the Temple, but I occasionally visit the Senate Plaza as well. Either to represent the Jedi in the senate or to just go for a walk." Valery then looked at a series of tall skyscrapers in the distance and roughly gestured in their direction, "I also live in that area there, but I wouldn't say I spend much time just wandering around."

"I mostly visit shopping areas when I need something, or travel for my duties."
She glanced at him with a smirk now, "I do know some decent restaurants as well, or even clubs and cantinas if you're into that sort of thing. Both up here and all across the lower levels." She knew some because she had met with people there, while those further down were typically because of work.

He raised a brow at that mention of being blown up. "Hey, I didn't expect an imp to blow up on me..." he still couldn't get over that. He knew the imperials were fanatics, but that was something else entirely. She then mentioned a few options, the plaza, cantinas, clubs... that last one particularly got him curious. "A club, huh? I don't see you as the clubbing sort." He's not type of person himself either, but it'd be more believable for a soldier to do it over a master jedi.

"But I get it. Places like that, makes us forget our roles sometimes." escapism. That's what it's like sometimes and he's not against the idea. "So, Master Jedi, when are you free? I still owe you that favor, remember? If you'd like, we can go to any place tonight of your choosing. A restaurant, cantina or daresay... a club. It's on me." he's earned a fair amount of credits being a Lieutenant that regardless of how the night could go, he can take the hit to his savings.

"I know, I'm just teasing," Valery chuckled and watched his reaction to what she told him about Coruscant with a smirk. "That's because I'm not a clubbing type of person. I've been dragged into one once by a friend, and I've infiltrated several in the lower levels to hunt down criminals, but that's about it for me." She smiled a little thinking about it all. There was a time when she never did anything for fun really - it was all about Jedi duty. So even going to a restaurant had been something she only did much later in life.

Valery then turned her fiery gaze back to him when he asked about ber availability and perked a brow just a little bit. Was he trying to ask her-

Oh, he wanted to repay her for what she had done for him back on the battlefield. It got her to stop walking for a moment, so she could better turn to him. "Well, I'm free but I don't actually want you to feel like you owe me anything. If someone owed me something every time I did what I signed up for as a Jedi...it wouldn't be right." She chuckled again and raised a hand up through her hair while she enjoyed the fresh air outside the Temple.

"That said, where do you want to go to celebrate that you made a full recovery? I don't go to places like that very often, so I'm not sure what would be a good thing to do. Maybe a restaurant or cantina if you want to grab some food and talk?" She really felt like she wasn't a very fun person in that regard. Going out for food or drinks or just socializing wasn't something she really did much at all.

She redirected the question back to him... well, he could think of a few places to eat at but they were all pretty expensive. Then again, he's taking "time" off at the moment and he's sure that he can cover it. "How about... Stellaré? I heard it's a good place. Interesting meals, good drinks." it's the only one he's heard of. He's heard of high ranking alliance officers dining at the place for business and whatnot, which felt like it matched what they were aiming for. "I'll meet you there around when the sun sets down." and with that and a light smile, he gave her a light wave before heading off, his gaze looking over the temple once more before exiting.

As the double doors of Stellaré swung open, guests were greeted by an air of refined elegance that enveloped the establishment. The interior exuded sophistication, with its sleek marble floors, glistening crystal chandeliers, and walls adorned with tasteful artwork depicting scenes from across the galaxy. Soft, ambient lighting bathed the space, casting a warm glow on the intricately set tables draped in pristine white linens. Each table boasted an arrangement of exquisite silverware, delicate porcelain plates, and crystal glassware, reflecting the attention to detail that defined Stellaré's dining experience. The melodious strains of live music filled the air, emanating from a small ensemble positioned near the grand piano. The soothing melodies provided the perfect backdrop for conversation and added to the enchanting ambiance.

The establishment is considered more "quiet" at this time, and by that definition, it meant that walk ins were allowed at the moment. Corbin no longer wore that plated armor but instead, donned a tailored tuxedo with jet-black ensemble, adorned with subtle silver accents which hugged their form perfectly, accentuating their muscular physique. A crisp white shirt, meticulously pressed, offered a striking contrast against the dark fabric. Corbin fastened shimmering silver cufflinks around their wrists, adding a touch of sophistication to their ensemble. A silk bowtie, meticulously tied, completed the look with a flourish.

He simply waited by the entrance, watching as people walked in.

"Stellaré?" Valery pursed her lips in thought. "Haven't been there before but it sounds fancy." It also seemed like the most appropriate of all their options. She didn't know Corbin that long yet, but already considered him a friend. She just didn't know much about him beyond what he was like as a soldier, so this would be an opportunity to get to know him a little better. Some good food to go along with that also helped a lot.

"Sounds good. I doubt they'd appreciate me walking in like this, so I'll get changed and meet you there soon." She offered a smile in return and first headed back to the Temple to drop off a few things, before she went home to get ready for the evening. It was always a bit of a process for her, but she wanted to be appropriately dressed and impress just a little bit.

By the time Valery arrived at the restaurant around sunset, she had changed into a green, silk dress that gently clung to her body. It was modest and not overly flashy, but fancy enough for a restaurant. She had curled her bangs and ponytail a little as well, and fixed up her make-up to make the whole look come together nicely.

"It's strange seeing you without heavy combat armor, but the suit looks great," Valery said as she walked over to him near the entrance of the establishment. It was even fancier than she had imagined, but not too much for her taste. Perhaps she'd have to keep it in mind for the future if the food was any good as well.
"Let's find a table, hm?" She then asked, and judging by her smile, she seemed eager to try the food and spend the evening in good conversation.

He smiled at as she approached him, that dress is definitely an eye-catcher. He quickly switched his eyes back to match her eye level, nodding to finding a table. "Thanks, it wasn't easy to get on." he jested when she complimented him on his suit. They went through the tedious approaching of signing themselves in, giving their names, getting a table, etc etc. Their table ended up being just a few tables from the center of the establishment. A pondering thought made him think that would've been nice... but alas, he's thankful that they got in so easily at all. The chairs themselves were a marvel of comfort and sophistication, upholstered in a rich, deep blue velvet that invited guests to sink into their sumptuous depths. The moment they would be seated, it's as if the chairs adapted themselves to the weight and space of the sitter, offering a world of comfortability... something that he hasn't quite experienced before. He almost wants to buy this kind of chair for himself.

He leaned forward, but also getting his lower body comfortable... "These chairs..." he's genuinely impressed. "Okay, I'll stop." and he gave a deep sigh, looking to the silverware, water jug and glasses already prepared for them. He looked down at the menu in-front of them, to which Corbin seemed to have a habit of reading out. "Alderaanian Spice-Rubbed Bird with a Truffle Risotto... Sun-Root stew with Spiced Dune Herbs... and this drink, Coruscant Sunset... a combination of gin, citrus and something called cloudfruit..." he keeps reading this menu, but aside from the general terms of seasoning and meats, he has no idea what these actually mean. He just chalked it up to all of it being very, very fancy.

"You making sense of any of this?"

"I can't imagine it was, but worth the effort." She smirked and followed him inside to first go through the whole process of signing in. Giving her name often came with interesting responses because it was very well-known in these parts of Coruscant. Luckily, there was no strange exchange at all, and a waiter quickly escorted them to a table for two. It perhaps wasn't the most desirable table in the entire restaurant, but it was completely fine to her. She wasn't really here to admire an expensive restaurant anyway - she wanted to talk to him and get to know him better.

Finally, Valery carefully and elegantly lowered herself into her seat, and blinked when she felt how comfortable they were. How they adjusted to her. "Right? I was not expecting all of this." It made her feel a little bad that he was wanting to pay for everything. Perhaps she'd have to offer to split the bill later. First, though, she focused on the menu and all the options it had.

"I...have no idea. I like simple, so I'm going with steak and some Alderaanian red wine." Sure, the steak had some fancy name here, but it was just steak to her at the end of the day. Valery then looked up as a waiter approached to already get their drinks at least, so Valery requested her wine but also ordered the steak dinner she seemed to want.

Then, she turned back to Corbin and smiled.

"So, visiting me can't be everything you were planning to do here on Coruscant, right? Any plans for your time off?"

In the end, he decided to get Roasted Nerf with Nerf Salt. He seemed to get a judgemental look when he said that, before the waiter walked off with his order. Electing to ignore that, he shifted his attention to Val's question. "I honestly came here for some shopping. If I could get some beskar or something to stop what happened from happening again, but on my salary, can't really get that. In the end, the top-tier stuff is behind a wall of credits that I don't have. I'll just keep working towards it." and then there's the trouble of getting all that hypothetical stuff approved with the alliance military... he had a strong reason to believe they wouldn't accept it for one reason or another.

"But that's for me to worry about. Just improvements I'm trying to make. I've been thinking of getting into holochess tournaments honestly. The sort of strategy that's involved. It helps considering what we do, but I just like the satisfaction of a plan going really, really well. It's a high for me." but again, it somehow related to his work, to his job as a soldier. He's slowly realising that with each word, he doesn't seem to have many interests or hobbies outside of what a soldier needed him to be.

"I heard there's some professional holochess tournaments happening around this time in the lower levels too. I'm sure they'll accept an lieutenant of the GADF. It could be good cred for them, and fun for me." he knew that some of them were... shady sometimes. Illegal betting, modifications, and identity theft to hide the players who are really good at what they do, followed by illegal betting for big wins. He'd have to be careful of those ones. "Do you just hang around at the temple all the time, or do you do any fun at all? It feels like Coruscant has it all."

Orders for food and drinks were placed, but Valery wasn't really too focused on waiting for that, and even the judgemental look from the waiter escaped her for the most part. She was focused on Corbin, and listened to what he told her about his plans on Coruscant. Shopping for armor, diving deep into strategy games with holochess... none of that surprised her at all, and she even began to chuckle a little after a moment.

"You really are a soldier through and through, hm?" She asked to poke fun a little bit. Valery could tell that he was aware that all his hobbies seemed to somehow be tied a little to his work. Not that it was a problem, of course. She used to do nothing but work herself, but now she did understand that there was much more to life than that. "But holochess does sound like an actual fun hobby, and if you're good at it, you should join tournaments. Just...be careful in the lower levels." She probably didn't need to tell him at all, but it wasn't exactly the safest place to be.

Jedi, law enforcement and soldiers were especially disliked in certain parts.

"Maybe I'll come spectate if you have an important game," she then added before the question was essentially turned around on her as well. She chuckled a little and rubbed the back of her neck. "I'm at the Temple a lot, but I don't hang out there when I don't need to be there. I usually go home and spend time with my family. The kids need a lot of attention." He likely knew about her family, since it was fairly widely known in the Galaxy. But if he didn't, he would now.

"So not a lot of time for fun outside of all of that. But I'm not complaining."

He should've expected that. He knew enough that she's someone high-ranking in the Jedi Order, so free time like this is a massive luxury for her. He was a bit surprised to hear about the family and kids, more so in the sense that he's heard about how Jedi weren't... supposed to do things like that. "A Jedi with a family? That's interesting. I'm sure that's both fun and uh... chaotic?" he's heard mix things about parenting and families from fellow soldiers, so he has some idea of how that must be, but being a Master Jedi on top of it must be something else entirely.

"I guess when you're a Jedi, expectations are different. Well... in that case, we should've gone somewhere a bit more fun for the evening." obviously they'd still have their food and drinks, but ideas are echoing in his head as to what they can do after dinner. "I'm sure there's something you've always wanted to do... speeder racing? sabacc? Pick your poison. We can go there after dinner." he's basically hoping to gauge something out of her that in her eyes, is fun and then they can spend some spare time tonight doing that. Knowing how precious her free time is, she might as well spend it doing something she wants to do, whereas he has all this free time in the next couple of weeks.

"It's not that strange for Jedi to accept their feelings, and start relationships anymore these days," Valery clarified with a chuckle. "It requires a level of control, but it can give a lot of strength as well." Fun was another word to use for it, but strength was definitely one as well. Whenever things got difficult, it felt good to have people to lean on. Both family and good friends. "It's not easy to balance, though, but I've gotten better at it."

"What about you? Anybody special in your life?"
she asked before he asked another question. She chuckled a little, and smiled almost sheepishly for a moment. "Well actually, something like this is quite nice. Kids are difficult, Jedi duty is very active and demanding, so it's sometimes really nice to just sit down and talk to someone."

That said, there was a noticeable fiery sparkle in her eyes at the mention of speeder racing. "I do love to take my bike out when I can, though. So... perhaps." She shot him a smirk and gestured at the drinks that were already offered to them. "First, enjoy the meal and drinks."

He nodded, a bit surprised at that. It sounded like it's how it worked for a while but based on her words, that's changed. "I see. I've never thought of it like that." friends were good to have and he had that with his fellow soldiers, but something past that? He only knows people in relation to his job. He was taken back a bit by that question of seeing anyone in his life, only giving a light laugh and lightly shaking his head. "No, no. Maybe when I rank up enough or have more time on my hands maybe... but no, I'm not seeing anyone right now. Don't think it'd work out anyway."

"Yeah, food and drinks first."
and he noted her reaction to the mention of speeder racing. It looks like that's the one. Before there talk could go any further though, the waiter finally emerged with a tray. As he approached the table, a tantalizing aroma wafted through the air. With a professional yet welcoming smile, he skillfully placed the plates on the table.

The first one is the tender steak, the aroma of grilled meat filling the air. It was expertly seared, boasting a mouthwatering crust that promised a delightful texture and robust flavor. The waiter then carefully poured a deep crimson Alderaanian red wine into a delicate crystal glass. The rich hue of the wine mirrored the warmth in the room, and its complex aromas hinted at notes of ripe berries and oak, before being placed down on Valery's side.

On Corbin's side is a perfectly cooked Roasted Nerf, its surface glistening with flavorful juices. The meat was tender and succulent, adorned with a sprinkling of Nerf Salt that added a hint of savory zest. The dish was accompanied by a colorful medley of seasonal vegetables, carefully arranged to complement the main course.

It looked good, and smelt good. "About time." he said, and the waiter gave a light nod before walking off. Corbin wasted no time digging in, using the silverware to start eating. Admittedly, his use of it was a bit... primitive. It became evident quite quickly he isn't used to eating like this.

Valery shot an almost teasing smirk when he seemed surprised by the question, but ultimately dipped her head at the answer, "A good mindset to have. It's not something to rush into. You have to meet the right person, but at the right time as well." Her smile was more genuine this time. Warmer, and it all clearly came from experience. For most of her life, she had been among very traditional Jedi, so even just the idea of relationships was impossible. A lot had changed since then, and Valery finally embraced that part about herself.

She had always been more emotional, and been more likely to develop strong feelings.

"Good," Valery then said, right as their food and drinks arrived. Much like the restaurant around them, it was carefully prepared and presented to the two at the table. But it didn't just look good either — it smelled amazing, and when Valery took the first small bite from her steak, she just froze for a second. This was probably some of the best food she had ever eaten, and it showed in the way she smiled.

A smile that turned into a grin when she saw him eat.

"First time at a restaurant like this?" He didn't really seem like the type to go out eating at overly fancy places, so it'd check out if it was actually his first time. These were the restaurants visited either by the rich, couples or good friends.

He understood that... or at least, he thinks he does. He's probably just going to do the same thing that he's doing at the moment, focus on his own duties and then if the chance presents itself, he'll decide then. He cut off a piece of the roasted nerf and it... words couldn't describe what he's feeling in his mouth. But he wanted more, and wasted no time cutting more and more of it, and faster than he anticipated, he's smashing through the roasted nerf.

He swallowed by the time she asked that last question, giving a light nod followed by words. "Yeah. I'm used to rations or foraging in the field, but this... is something else entirely." he's not sure how else to take it, other than to just keep eating it. "Foods good for you?" he still planned to pay for it, he was expecting more than this but honestly? This should be payable.

As they continued to dine, the atmosphere around them seemed to fade away, leaving them immersed in their own world of delectable flavors and engaging conversation. The soft lighting and gentle hum of background music added to the enchanting ambiance of the restaurant, creating a sense of relaxation. It felt good that for himself, he could momentarily step away from the role of a soldier. He felt pretty confident she felt the same way, to forget about being a Jedi for just one night.

"I'm curious... has you ever brought your family to places like this?" with the way she asked him about it being his first time, he's sure that she's brought them to similar places.

"Oh yeah, I know that feeling,"
Valery laughed a little, "Energy bars, rations..." she shuddered at the thought of eating those again, but it was more than likely that she would. Whenever she traveled to a battlefield, she brought them along, and even though the war with the Maw was over, there was plenty of fighting still that could bring her away from home for a while. But right now, she didn't think too much about that.

The food, the ambiance of the restaurant, and even the faint background music all helped her just be herself, rather than a Jedi out on duty. Of course, it helped that she had someone to talk to who felt the same, and wasn't looking to dive too deep into conversations about work. Not that she'd be entirely opposed to it, but she much rather discussed other things. Even if it was maybe a little bit silly.

At his question, Valery looked up from her plate and smiled, "Oh yeah. Maybe not always to a place this fancy, but we have our family dinners away from home too. It is a bit harder with the triplets though - they are less than a year old, so I can't really bring them into a place like this." Not that it bothered her at all. She loved her family, and there would be a day in the future when they were all able to enjoy a dinner like this together.

"Thank you for bringing me along for this, though. It's quite nice to not think about fighting for once, wouldn't you say?"

Corbin nodded, he could only imagine the challenges of juggling family life and finding time for such luxurious outings. "I can only imagine how lively your family dinners must be with three little ones. They're lucky to have a Jedi as their mother," he said with a warm smile. "But I can see how it would be difficult to bring them to a place like this. Perhaps when they're a bit older, they can experience the finer things in life too." The weight of duty and the chaos of battle faded into the background, replaced by a sense of camaraderie and shared enjoyment of the present moment.

He agreed with her words. "Absolutely," he replied. "It's nice to know what we're fighting for. If I have a Roast Nerf like this waiting for me after every battle, I'd honestly be a lot more motivated." he gave a bit of a chuckle, realising that he demolished through the Roast Nerf in a short amount of time. "But thanks for doing this, with a soldier like me. It's been good to know you more on a personal level." he realised that he didn't share much about himself, but it's not like he had a whole lot to really share with her. His upbringing isn't that exciting.

He decided to ask more about... her life instead. He's curious what the Jedi really are about. They're these powerful force-wielding peacekeepers with a level of respect to be given, but his curiosity got the better of him. "I want to ask something... what does being a Jedi really mean? I've seen you in battle, and I know you guys help bring peace to the galaxy... but what is it that drives you?" he understands soldiers, and most signing up had their reasons, family, credits, patriotism, but he never understood the Jedi in that regard.

"Lively is one way to describe it,"
Valery laughed and kept her smile after she was able to talk again, "They can be very difficult, but I love them very much, and being able to have them all together for big family dinners is... the best feeling there is." She smiled proudly at that — her family was clearly important to her, and she'd never even try to hide that fact. Even if they were sometimes very difficult to handle.

Then there was the problem of having to balance being a Jedi with being a wife and a mother... but she didn't want to bore him to death just talking about herself too much.

Valery then took a small sip from her wine again, and looked up at him as he thanked her for the dinner. She just chuckled, shook her head and set down her glass after swallowing the wine, "Oh it's my pleasure, truly. I find it refreshing to spend time with the men and women who really make the difference in times of war and peace." She then smirked, "You're also pretty cool and interesting to talk to, so that helps." A slight bit of teasing, she hoped he wouldn't mind.

Corbin then decided to ask a question about her — about being a Jedi — and Valery seemed to think about it more seriously for a moment. "This is in part why I really wanted to start a family. To see them happy when we're all together and living through good times is the best feeling in the world, and what drives me is to bring that joy to as many people as I can."

"I want people in the Galaxy to live without fear, and be able to freely express themselves and live good lives. It... sound very idealistic, but I'm well-aware that it's not so easy. But if nobody ever tries to fight for what's right, then nothing will ever get better for anybody."
But with that said, she figured she'd turn that question around on him as well.

"What about you? Why do you fight?"
