TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Cortosis is a metal well known within the Echani weapon designs of the Vibroblade. It has been trusted for many years for its value against Lightsabers, and the like. However, Cortosis is a rather brittle metal. Even when in use of a weave, it can be brittle to the point that constant use, or use over a very long period of time can require the weapon to need replacement, or to be melted down and reforged into a new blade.
Shaun has trained many years of his life with weapons much like this. He has no problem with these blades, but with his recent ventures out into the galaxy, he requires a weapon that can be suitable for him and any situation he comes in. A weapon that won't chip, or break under stress.
Replacing the iconic use of Cortosis weave, with that of a Songsteel blade, with a combination of Mullinine and Ostrine metals to create a devastating edge all put together on a Vibrosword frame.
This weapon could easily replace his Echani Sister swords with ease.
As the weapon itself is very useful single handed, Shaun is not one to be without his merits. Also forging a dagger to go along with it.

- Singing Steels: Using a metal that is resistant to lightsaber blows, as well as blaster weaponry makes this a suitable replacement for a lightsaber in the hands of Shaun Irons.
- Cold Edge: Using a combination of Mullinine, and Ostrine for the edge of the weapon allows for the blade to keep an edge, while also being able to cause a secondary type of damage. The Ostrine can cause frostbite, and even freeze wounds. This could result in the victim needing extensive surgeries to remove dead flesh, and deadened nerves. Otherwise, a lack of medical attention can cause necrosis of the flesh.
- Vibrations Hurt: Utilizing a ultrasonic-vibration generator, the weapon can cut more deeply into materials. This can also permit damage to some armors should they not be resilient enough.
- Physical Limitations: The sword has a single edge. Thus causing any kind of damage must be done with the edge of the blade, or the point. While parries, and blocks can be done with the flat of the blade, and the spine, at best, you might cause a bruise or break bones to be hit with the spine or face of the sword. It also lacks a crossguard. This causes the weapon to either attack, or parry. Blocking with this weapon is rather difficult depending upon the angle in which an attack is coming from, and the angle in which the sword is placed to defend ones self.
- Boom Boom: As the sword utilizes an ultrasonic generator, should the generator be active, and the weapon be damaged with Ion, EMP, or electrical type damage, the generator can be temporarily shut off, Damaged to the point of needed to be replaced, or completely blow up in Shaun's hands.
- Sheathed when not in Use: The mullinine edge in combination with ostrine causes maintenance upon the weapon to be rather difficult. Even just drawing the blade and letting it be out of it's sheath is dangerous due to how sharp the blade is, and the implications of Ostrine. So for the sake of everyone's safety, the sword should be sheathed when not in use, or being maintained. No showing off.
