As time passes technology continually evolves, and the Manndorf Technocracy soon faced the need for a new ship capable of protecting it's assets by intercepting any possible threats before they are in range of any valuable possessions. This resulted in the development of an exceptionally fast tackler frigate, the Eagle Class Interceptor. This speed based design boasts incredible speed and impressive damage outputs, and is the pinnacle of tackler frigate design. Capable of dealing with larger ships when working in small groups, these frigates are a powerful deterrent to anyone who would wish to attack the Manndorf's property and assets.
The ship's extraordinary speed is a product of an expanded thruster array, combined with an afterburner. This system allows the ship to accelerate quickly and maintain extremely high top speeds. This does however come at a cost. Due to the fact that the expanded array adds a lot of mass to the ship, mass had to be reduced elsewhere. This forced engineers to reduce the armor plating on the frigate, giving it a notoriously flimsy hull.
The Eagle Frigate's weaponry consists of two quintuple heavy beam turrets. Much larger than any standard weapon you will find on most warships these days, these turrets allow the Eagle to focus all of it's firepower into two weapons, significantly decreasing target acquisition times, and allowing much more efficient use of a targeting computer's processing power. It also allows the ship to focus all damage into one spot, allowing it to tear right through a hull once enemy shields go down. The ship is also equipped with two proton torpedo launchers, which increase the frigate's stopping power even further.
All of these demanding systems are powered by an advanced cold fusion reactor. These reactors complete all fusion processes at lower temperatures, allowing fission to occur at an earlier stage, thus generating more power for the ship to utilize, which is critical when dealing with power management issues in ships of this size. This allows the Eagle to keep it's systems running at full power at all times.
The Eagle Frigate is, overall, an incredible solution to a tough problem. With these ships patrolling the area, those with malicious intent will think twice before making their move.
