Coat Description
Description: A custom build ordered by The Serpent aka Dyxra'a the woman wanted a coat to match that of other custom orders that fit her needs for lightweight armor that could protect her from various dangerous situations. So being one of the larger providers of Tarentatek hide, Spaarti Creations crafted three jackets for Dyxra'a that could offer light protection from blasters, sabers, blades, and the force.

How it's built. It starts with a leather trench coat crafted out of Tarentatek hide, it's not alchemized or anything special just a quality leather that retains the beasts abilities, but due to it not being alchemized it provides a lower quality of protection than what alchemized leather would. The second layer is a mesh made of Flexmetal which is known for keeping blaster bolts from burning through and killing you. This nestles between the coats third and final lining which is just cloth for comfort to prevent chaffing. It's an all around very simple design and does the job of offering light protection.

Protection. Let it be clear that the leather from the Tarentatek is just plain leather, it won't stop an lightsaber, and it won't stop a stabbing motion from a blade. It will however offer light protection against slicing bladed weapons as most leather does, it's tough and able to take a few slices. But that's just the physical aspect of the coat, on the astral side it's capable of stopping or easing tension from someone crushing The Serpent's chest or vital organs provided that it's buttoned up. It offers protection from basic TK attacks like pushes, pulls, or grips. Only slight protection from lightning and fire due to the heat that comes off said attacks that are capable of burning Dyxra'a and the jacket. The jacket only protects what is covering the user, if it's opened then a force user can target exposed areas that the coat doesn't cover. So hands, head, and anything that is open.

The Flexmetal mesh is where the real protection comes in. It's capable of stopping a blaster bolt from a heavy pistol, however anything rifle sized and up can pierce the mesh due to it being exactly that, a mesh. It's not a full piece or armor plate for the sake of flexibility in the jacket. But being a high heat resisting metal it is capable of some lightsaber resistance, a glancing sweep or strike can protect Dyxra'a, however any strike with some real "oomf" in it will immediately compromise the armor and do damage.

Drawbacks. Slugs. Those are the main weakness of this jacket, Fleximetal is designed to stop blasters and against a slug thrower the jacket will be compromised the mesh can maybe hold up against a .22 or a 9mm but it's not really something to count on. The jacket is just useless in that department and larger caliber blaster rifles will also due the trick, the jacket can maybe take a single hit from a rifle sized blaster but if it does and Dyxra'a survives the entire jacket's protection will be compromised and the mesh will be useless much like threads on Kevlar. As for force powers lightning and pyrokinesis will damage the coat due to its heat and power, so the Terentatek hide will be destroyed there as well. Also it won't protect you from good old fashion picking up something heavy and throwing it, it's just armor mesh and leather.

Summary. Overall it's a nice jacket with very light protection in the force and energy weapon department for Dyxra'a. If you want a custom order as well please contact your local Spaarti office.
