In the furthest flung reaches of the Empire, in a sector known only as The Wastes in Wild Space, Commander Vexis finds himself disturbed by an eerie silence. Dispatched to guard the secretive Outpost Epsilon, a research facility operating on the ice planet of Zeta-Zero-Nine. The planets natural electromagnetic storms makes offworld communication difficult, but years of silence from Imperial Command fills Vexis with unease.
Unbeknownst to Vexis the Empire he once knew has decayed, beset by squabbling warlords and pressured from the Galactic Alliances war effort. The collapse was sudden and catastrophic. Outpost Epsilon serves as a fading testament to Imperial Rule, marked by dwindling supplies and an understaffed garrison, yet a determined commander who is not ready to submit to defeat.
