History: The asteroid was once part of an unexplored planet in the unknown regions, whose sun went supernova, destroying everything in the system. However, as the planet was one of the farthest from it's sun, the asteroid's planet wasn't completely decimated by the force of it's exploding sun. One small chunk, containing huge amounts of the unique ore extremely common on said planet, was blasted out of the system, cursed to shoot through the void of space for eternity.
Until it found another orbit. By sheer luck, the asteroid was eventually caught in the orbit of Duniya's sun, and eventually pulled closer until caught in Duniya's own orbit. By the time explorers arrived and named the asteroid in 378 ABY, it had been adopted by the planet as a second moon. Since then, the explorers and miners that inhabited Duniya were unaware of the huge amounts of rare Dunite ore contained within the asteroid, having only ever discovered the metal from a tiny meteorite that had broken off from Duniya II and entered Duniya's atmosphere. Now, with the system uninhabited, it's to late to explore the moon for it's ore... Until someone else comes along.
