  • Affiliation: Imperial Commonwealth of Dosuun
  • Market Status: Closed-Market
  • Model: CVT-SPGDK-M1 "Duke"
  • Modularity: Yes
  • Production: Minor
  • Material: Reinforced durasteel hull; layered composite armor; ceramic spall liners; thermal-insulated gun cradle; reinforced recoil frame; sealed crew capsule
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Tank, Self-Propelled Gun [Artillery]
  • Role: Indirect fire support; counter-battery fire; fortification reduction; area denial
  • Size: Very Large
  • Weight: Very Heavy
  • Armaments: Very High
    • Heavy Long-Barrel Artillery Cannon
      • Primary weapon; high-arc indirect fire at extreme range, with limited direct-fire capability in emergencies. Lethality is delivered through reach and munition selection rather than rate of fire.
      • Swappable munition types:
      • High-Explosive (HE) — massed formations, soft targets
      • Bunker-buster penetrators — hardened positions, fortifications
      • Airburst fragmentation — entrenched infantry, drones
      • Sensor-disruption / ion-analog shells — EW and area denial
      • Precision-guided smart munitions — surgical strikes, minimal collateral
    • Secondary Hull-Mounted Medium Repeating Blaster
      • Local defense against infantry and light vehicles.
    • Remote Close-Defense Turret (Light Repeating Blaster)
      • Top-cover against drones, infiltrators, and close skirmishers.
    • Deployable Countermeasure Launchers
      • Smoke, obscurants, and sensor-confusion munitions supporting shoot-and-scoot survivability.
  • Defenses: High
    • Reinforced frontal arc; heavy side and rear armor
    • Internal blast compartmentalization + ammunition isolation
    • Active fire suppression
    • Electronic Warfare countermeasures (soft-kill / spoofing)
  • Maneuverability Rating: Low
  • Speed Rating: Low
  • Propulsion: Tracks (heavy-duty, recoil-stabilized suspension)
  • Minimum Crew: 3
  • Optimal Crew: 5 (driver, commander, gunner, systems officer, loader/munitions tech)
  • Passenger Capacity: None
  • Cargo Capacity: Average (ammunition stowage and fire-mission equipment)
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Advanced fire-control & ballistics computer (multi-trajectory solutions, time-on-target coordination)
  • Commonwealth BattleNet datalink (receives target tracks from Hound-type scouts, drones, and forward observers)
  • Counter-battery detection suite (incoming-fire triangulation and rapid return solutions)
  • Shoot-and-scoot automation (rapid fire-mission → automated displacement before counter-battery)
  • Recoil-absorbing stabilizer system (no deployable spades required; fire from short halt)
  • Armored ammunition carousel with blast venting
STRENGTHS
  • Reach and shaping power: dominates entire sectors from beyond visual range, shaping engagements before tanks and infantry make contact.
  • Precision over devastation: guided munitions allow surgical fire support, reducing the need for orbital strikes in populated areas — a doctrinal priority for a successor state that intends to govern what it takes.
  • Survivable for its role: ammo isolation, compartmentalization, and shoot-and-scoot automation keep it alive against counter-battery fire.
WEAKNESSES
  • Helpless up close: relies entirely on escorts and distance; a Duke caught alone by maneuver elements is a dead Duke.
  • Slow to redeploy: not suited to rapid advances without planning and route support.
  • Limited direct fire: cannot stand in the line as a tank; it shapes the battle, it does not hold the ground.
DESCRIPTION
The Duke-type Self-Propelled Gun is the Commonwealth's answer to a hard truth carried out of the First Order's collapse: orbital bombardment wins battles but loses worlds. Designed to provide sustained, precise, and scalable fire support, the Duke lets Commonwealth ground forces dismantle enemy fortifications, logistics hubs, and massed formations from beyond visual range — without leveling cities or poisoning the political landscape of the governance that follows. Its lethality is not in a single terror-shot but in reach, accuracy, and a munitions rack that can be tuned from saturation HE to a single guided round through a bunker slit.

In doctrine, the Duke completes the Commonwealth's combined-arms triad as its long arm. It operates well behind the forward line, protected by Selim-type MBTs and screened by Hound-type autonomous vehicles, with fire missions directed by forward observers, drones, and armored reconnaissance feeding targeting data through BattleNet. Once a mission is complete, automated displacement protocols relocate the platform before effective counter-battery fire can be brought to bear. Slow and vulnerable in isolation, a properly supported Duke battery can dominate a sector long before the enemy ever sees a Commonwealth tank — the eyes of the Hound, the knife of the Selim, and the reach of the Duke working as one.
