Duello Di Mio Onore - Duel Of My Honor

Clashing steel upon steel of vibroblades. The pounding of your heart that the heat of battle generates. These were the rhythms of a sword fight. Nephenee ducked under a swing, parrying the blade of the other. Her two opponents fought like wild beasts. Slashing with fever but no soul. She fought with a grace unknown to them. Natural in its movements, pleasant in its form. Another crash of steel echoed around the courtyard in which they dueled. It was a great deal tougher to fight two foes at once. Despite their lower skill. She skipped two steps back to clear some room. And like she anticipated they set down upon her one before the other. The first blade to reach for her was deflected to the right and he stumbled past her. Now she had the opening she needed as the other man bore down quickly, blade raised high for a powerful downward slash. She aimed for the grip as he let loose the blades fury. A great length of his fingers were lost; his blade clattered across the ferrocrete. Before he could grip his stubbed appendages he was dispatched with a thrust though his back.

"You killed my brother. You'll pay for that you karker"!

"You were the ones starting trouble. I'm just doing the locals a service by removing you scum". Nephenee readied her stance. Raising her sword for the final dance. The remaining brother charged, a folly as he should of ran. It wouldn't be right to have this man die as his blood did. Whatever his crimes may be his family didn't deserve this much loss. Nephenee lowered herself further as he charged in. In the last split second she kicked out and tripped up his legs. The man was sent falling past over her to the ground. Nephenee scrambled up and jumped on him, cracking him over the skull with the pommel of her blade. That was it for him, out like a light. Nephenee raised herself up, setting a foot on his unconscious back in a sort of triumph. She starred at the dead man. He paid with his life for attacking her, the other will pay with his loss, and a nice long time in prison.

Prex Tower
Lord Protector's Office

The shutters were lowered over the windows, leaving the office near pitch black, save for a viridian light that shone outward from an object on the ground. Shaped like a sphere, save for a pair of small, flat surfaces directly opposite of each other, it sat perfectly balanced on the ground, no hint of wobble. Beside it sat Ayden, his eyes closed in meditation. His work on his personal holocron continued as he poured knowledge of recent events into it. Galaxy-shaking events such as Omni's invasion and the Dark Harvest were stored, as well as more monumental events such as the battles of Roche and Polis Massa. It contained lifetimes worth of information, added to over the decades and centuries.

After some time, the light faded and Ayden visibly sagged with a sigh. Slowly, he rose to his feet and drew the sphere into his hand. At the same time, the shutters in the room rose to let the afternoon sun into the room. Tapping a hidden switch under his desk, revealing a pedestal in the center of the room. Setting the holocron into the inset and gently pushed down, causing the pedestal to automatically descend into its hidden alcove. Satisfied with it for the time, Ayden turned and walked out of the office, triggering its security features as he left. A lifetime spent with the likes of Sarge, and his many infiltration attempts into the former Prex's office had left him with the sense to put certain countermeasures in place.

Descending the tower in one of the repulsorlifts, Ayden stepped out near the bottom and headed for the Bounty Office. It wasn't part of his normal schedule, but he on occasion got the urge to do the unexpected. It kept people on their toes, as well as gave insight to the others he ruled over now. What exactly he was looking for and expected to find were not known to him, but he trudged onward anyways. Perhaps he'd meet an interesting person or learn something new.

No one had been around to hear the three way duel. Good for the girl. Authorities didn't usually side with the one standing over some bodies. Nephenee removed her foot and knelt to loot anything of value off the guy. Rifling through the pockets she obtained a few credit chips. Not much, but it would get her a meal or two. Nephenee shifted over to the corpse and did the same. Unfortunately he had nothing of value on him. Of course his vibroblade may be of some use. She picked the sword up to inspect it, a single chip down the edge but otherwise in Ok condition. Nephenee slid the blade into her belt, unlike her own she didn't have a sheath for it, neither did the dead guy.

Well, no time to be wasting. Nephenee pulled out a small datapad with a camera built in. A few rolled bodies and some pictures latter she was nearly set. On top of the physical work she sent out her location to the proper authorities. Their arrival was timed as such she'd be gone. Not needing to be held up by them for questioning.

A Short Time Latter
Prex Tower

Nephenee slid her datapad over the counter. The Clerk would be taking their time anyways. Verifying with the authorities that those two were indeed the same people would take some time. Maybe she'd go loiter someplace. The redhead spun around on her heel. Perhaps a bite to eat with those liberated credits. Now she had to decide as she walked. It was a tough decision, though quickly settled with a grumbling stomach. The thought now had brought up she hasn't eaten in a good eight hours. Nephenee rounded a corner and nearly took a face shot off some dudes chest. Reflex had her jump back. "Kark buddy, right of way".

Ayden was looking the other way as he turned a corner and nearly had someone bounce off him. Taking a split-second, he looked over the other person. A full head shorter than he was, the only reason he really knew he'd nearly walked into someone was the indignant expletive thrown at him. If nothing else, he admired her spirit. Mouthing off to a man almost two dozen centimeters taller and easily twice her size took guts, to say nothing of doing so to a man of his stature and position. Rather than feel annoyed or angry like some might, Ayden simply grinned and chuckled. "Well thank you for yielding. I'm sure an apology will come later." Lord Protector or not, somethings he couldn't resist the urge to making a snarky comment. After all, he was Corellian. Without another word, he brushed past her and continued on his way.

Nephenee's expression soured at his snark comment. He side stepped and kept going but she wasn't going to let him slight her like that. "You want an apology little big Hutt you can get one out of me in a fight". Nephenee reached with her will and grasped the back of his coat with an invisible hand to stop him. "Duel me in honorable combat. If your not a Ropo that is". Her grasp relented and the direction he wished to take was now his.

Ayden paused in mid-stride. Though she could not see it, there was a distinctly surprised and amused look on his face. Either this girl had a pair, or she had no idea she just challenged the Lord Protector to a duel. He sighed and reached into his pocket and pulled a fresh cigar and set it between his lips. Slowly he turned to face her with a very bored expression. "Listen, I'm sure your honor is important to you and all, but you don't want to do this." He pulled a lighter from one pocket and lit the cigar, letting a fresh puff waft in the air before continuing. "You have no idea what you're about to get yourself into."
