Duel personalities (Lord Ajihad)

Mid Day
Sith Academy on Korriban
A duel is to begin soon in the ancient halls of the Sith Academy. The winner decided by skill, power, and strategy.
Principal characters: @jareth johnathon holst
[member="Lord Ajihad"]

A lone figure strode into what used to be the main foyer of the Sith academy on Korriban. Not much was left of the ancient structure, save for a few ruins. The assassin'a boots made no sound as they lightly stepped across the sand-strewn floor. He was here to duel a certain [member="Jareth Johnathon Holst"] . They had gotten into a slight "disagreement" the other day over a holocron on the sandy planet. The situation had escalated quickly, to say the least. Now, they were to duel. Winner gets the holocron. Lord Ajihad scanned the surrounding area, looking for both his opponent, and any advantages he could find in the surrounding environment.

*Ajihad would find Jareth standing his ground waiting for the fight. Around them, 6 pillars rose from the ground, some crumbling leaving massive blocks of stone strewn about the ground. This place was an abandoned section left in shambles by millennia of wars and the corrupting influence of the dark side.*

Jareth: "I see you were serious about this duel after all. The best of luck to you, and know that I will not hold back anything."

[member="Lord Ajihad"]

The assassin looked his opponent up and down before speaking. "Won't hold anything back, eh? Doesn't seen there's much for you to hold back." He said this as he looked at his opponent's scrawny form. Of course, he wouldn't underestimate [member="Jareth Johnathon Holst"] , but he was attempting to make his opponent angry. Angry men did reckless things, though at times, it made them more powerful.

As he spoke, he sent a steady wave of emotions at his opponent. Jareth would feel anger and hate begin to seep into his veins, and a desire to annihilate Ajihad. He would hopefully become very angry, though it was possible that the tactic could backfire on the young assassin...

*An interesting remark, but there was more behind his words than met the eyes. A wave of emotion crashed subtly into Jareth. Anger, hate, powerful tools when they made an opponent act foolishly.*

Dust: "I see you too are a practitioner of emotion altering abilities. You will find their effectiveness is limited on me if only because I use similar techniques. Where most wouldn't notice the change in emotional state, I can feel the attempt to alter my mood and as a result I can calm myself in order to temper the effect."

*Right now seemed to be the posturing phase. Figuring out what you are capable of in relation to your enemy. If Dust was in full combat mood at the moment he might've feigned ignorance of the mans abilities and let him waste energy on affecting a move, but he had other plans that involved using this exposition to his favor. Dust was using the time spent talking to begin affecting the environment of this planet, causing a storm to begin brewing above them. Most wouldn't notice it until too late, it takes great perception to realize the sky is beginning to become a playground of lightning before the clouds have already darkened over head and the storm is complete.*

He raised an eyebrow at the remark. It really didn't do much to affect his strategy, as he had many more tricks up his sleeve. The only words he offered were "You talk funny." That's when he noticed the area around him getting darker. He looked up, and saw a storm cloud forming over the old academy. He frowned. It seemed his opponent knew how to alter the environment.

Then, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed an old oil drum next to his opponent, hidden beneath the sand. In the blink of an eye, he let loose a duo of arrows from his Dathomiri energy bow. One was aimed for his opponent's lower abdomen, the other for the old oil drum right next to him.

[member="Jareth Johnathon Holst"]

*The movements from his opponent were quick and sudden. Dust barely had time to react to the arrow headed for his abdomen, but he managed to note the second was not aimed for him directly. His opponent was clearly a good shot from the first arrow so he must have aimed intentionally so instead of making a slight dodge to simply move to the side of the abdomen aimed arrow he rolled to the right side right before the oil drum exploded, propelling him slightly further in his roll and singing his clothes along the left side. Dust landed with a slight thud, rolling through improperly due to the disturbance and slamming the wrong foot down causing minor pain. He pulled out his lightsaber, Voice of the Fallen, and ignited the blade as white as new fallen snow.*

Dust: "Listen and hear... The Voice of the Fallen."

*The blade forged using the metal of his fallen friends twin blasters, with the engagement ring of his dead fiancee as the seed for the crystal within, burned with the light of his determination. Two murdered before his eyes, both avenged, and now he would be their voice. Dust now settled into the Vishu ready stance (Unorthodox lightsaber style created by Dust. Check the bio for a link detailing how it works).*

The Demon's Fist drew his two sabers, settling into a Juyo stance. His first blade was his own custom lightsaber, with an electrum hilt and a deep indigo blade. The second was the weapon he had taken from a Jedi he had defeated in combat. Both blades hummed as he prepared to destroy [member="Jareth Johnathon Holst"] . However, before attacking with his sabers, he tried a different tactic. He sent a concentrated force blast into his opponent's lungs, probably knocking the wind out of him. He then clenched his fist, force choking Jareth. The two attacks combi we would hopefully knock his opponent unconscious in a matter of seconds.

*Jareth was a skillful tenant in terms of sensing the force, so when the blast of force energy was sent at him he was able to detect and avoid it rather easily; however, this distracted him from the force choke allowing it to penetrate his relatively weak defense against direct force powers. Fortunately, Jareth had dealt with literal hours of being force choked over and over again until its affect on his senses and decision making was diminished, though it lost little of its killing power. He was, through the lack of oxygen and sharp pain, still able to maintain clarity of thought where he began to draw on the storm brewing above him, creating a path of ionized air as he used the force within the air to break it into positive and negatively charged areas where electrons could flow freely, acting like a wire as the ionization reached down to encompass Ajihad's body and creating a perfect conduit for the electric currents above to short into the planet below, catching Ajihad in the strong electrical discharge known as lightning if he failed to sense and avoid the strike. If Ajihad had a keen sense he might detect the ionization as it was occurring, giving him a head start on the bolt, if not he would feel the hair on his skin raise and metal objects around him might take on a slight blue glow warning him of the strike and possibly allowing him to dodge out of the way of the attack were his reflexes and speed high enough, or maybe he could find some other way to avoid the bolt: it was up to him now to survive.*

Unfortunately for him, [member="Jareth Johnathon Holst"] had forgotten a simple fact; lighting was something all Sith learned to manipulate. Therefore, when the assassin felt the hair on the back of his neck raise in response to the building levels of static electricity, he knew what to do. He shut his eye, relying on the Force to provide his vision. He calmed himself down, and fully concentrated on the task at hand. He was currently force choking his opponent, cutting off his oxygen supply, while simultaneously holding him still. While he maintained the choke, he also used the force to slightly redirect the powerful bolt towards his choking opponent's body. Though it was but a slight alteration, it exerted him more than he expected. Beads of sweat began to form on his forehead, and his body shuddered with exertion. Though the task tired him out, he maintained the mental discipline to maintain both of his attack...

*Jareth was starting to have difficulties, all of these independent events had happened in a little over 1 minute since the choke began. Jareth through his training was able to maintain full clarity of thought and ability for just over 3 minutes, after 4 minutes his thoughts would get fuzzy, 5 minutes would start to blur his vision, 6 minutes would see the edges of his vision fade into blackness, and after 7 minutes Jareth would pass out. For now, however, the task at hand was in stopping the lightning that had been redirected at him. Impressive fighting power from the other, high proficiency in multiple disciplines both in respect to the force and he could only assume physical combat. Jareth was different in that he was very focused on specific abilities, perfecting individual fighting techniques to the point of instinctive reaction, and his knowledge of physics and how nature and the force worked was second to very few. Here he would do two simple things out of pure muscle memory and instinct, with his throat held in place by the force choke he lifted his legs meaning he was no longer grounded, he then created a path of ionized air leading to the ground in front of him leading to a piece of crumbled stone jutting above the ground causing the lightning to take the path of least resistance and discharge harmlessly into the ground. He then used the force which he had already focused around the stone piece while he was ionizing air and lifted it before sending it at his opponent, aiming for the legs of his opponent with the high velocity stone. That was 2 minutes down, 2 minutes of oxygen deprivation before his thinking and reaction time was impaired. In fact, the combination of abilities just now probably knocked it closer to a minute 30.*

Vi'kas frowned as his lighting was grounded. He was hoping that'd have some sort of effect on his opponent. However, he recovered quickly. What's done is done, and there was nothing he could do about it. However, that's when a rock shot out at his feet.

Now, Lord Ajihad was a practitioner of Ataru, and a good one at that. He had learned from the best, after all. Therefore, when the sizable rock was sent at his legs, he jumped right over it. He landed much closer to [member="Jareth Johnathon Holst"] . He was now close enough to be able to react to any more flying objects or attacks, but close enough that if his opponent tried to summon more lightning like that, he'd fry himself too.

He still maintained the force choke, but added another tactic to the mix. He used something similar to force choke to squeeze his opponent's chest like an anaconda. This'd remove the air from Jareth's lungs, and possibly break a few ribs in the process. He crushed with surprising strength, squeezing the life out of him.

*Lord Ajihad was impressive in his Ataru style jump. The ease with which he cleared the object was to be expected however since the projectile wasn't really intended to hit him. No, Jareth only wanted it closer to him, and as Ajihad lept, Jareth finished the process of force combustion, causing the large piece of rock to explode with great force as Ajihad began his jump, sending shrapnel in all directions at lethal velocities if they hit the right part of someones body. This technique was of course intended to cause Ajihad pain and would further punish him for leaping by reducing his options to avoid the shower of shrapnel now bursting outward at him, and also Jareth. One might think Jareth a great fool for using the technique that close to himself, the velocities upon reaching him were no longer as lethal; however, they were more than capable of causing him bodily harm with their spread pattern. This fact was a tennant of strategy though, as his master had taught him one force ability over and over, the ability to use pain as an emotion to fuel the darkside of the force. As the shrapnel would've peppered him, Jareth felt scrapes, cuts, and bruises across his entire body and as that occurred his force shield was bolstered suddenly allowing him to break the force choke. He was now at the ready stance once more, and he would be ready for any other attempts to force choke him.*

As he jumped over the rock, it exploded. He growled as he flew forward more than he intended, sailing through the air. However, the rock shrapnel had minimal effect on him. His armor absorbed almost all of the damage, so the attack only threw him off balance. As he flew towards one of the old walls, he made his body go limp, pretending to go unconscious. Just as he was about to be crushed by the impact, he did two things. One, through a poisoned knife at [member="Jareth Johnathon Holst"] . At the same time, he rebounded of the wall, set on a direct course for Jareth, lightsabers drawn. It was time to spill some blood.

*Jareth gripped the lightsaber in his right hand and put his fingers forward sending an arc of black electricity from his finger tips, electric judgement cloaked in the corruption of the dark side, to hit the blade and knock it away from him at the last second before it hit. His opponent was flying toward him, Jareth caught the lightsaber against his, doing his best to deflect the lightsaber away from himself but the surprise caused by his opponents feint hurt his ability to block it properly resulting in him having to step back and being caught in a saber lock so that he couldn't counterattack properly. He needed to get some spacing again, the storm he had been brewing was starting to intensify. Wind was whipping across the battlefield as the battle continued.*

As [member="Jareth Johnathon Holst"] locked his saber, Ajihad used his primary one to slash at his lower abdomen. With his locked saber, he tried a fancier move, one meant to disarm his opponent. He slid the tip of the saber towards his opponent's hilt, and gave his wrist a good twist. This would also twist Jareth's wrist into an unnatural position, hopefully making him drop his saber. As a bit of overkill, He sent a small stream of lightning at his opponent's hand. It wasn't all that strong, but would hopefully do the trick.
