Duel of Technology

Upon the planet of Metellos was the Jedi Knight known was Zaren Bouqi to few, and then known as Bishop to many more. To those who knew him as Zaren Bouqi, they knew him before he had gotten his armour, before he had been prepared to fight for the Galactic Republic, before Telos IV. Or immediately after.

Then there were those who knew him as Bishop, the only person who he had actually told was a man known as Sarge Potteiger, though he knew him as Preacher. All we need is a Reverend...He heard the Beskar clad being say in his mind.

He was a funny man, Preacher. One day he hoped they would become brothers-in-arms upon the field of battle. But until then, he had business upon Metellos. A planet that was close to the fringes of what was determined as One Sith Space, and the Coruscant-not-to-be planet, or something like that, better known as Metellos, was where he'd begin to hunt down the Sith.

Darth Naomi was here on her private business and was most certainly not looking for a fight. In order to avoid it she wore a tattered brown cloak, instead of her majestic void black and was also actively suppressing her force alignment as well as her being in the force altogether, as Darth Veles has taught her. This was after all enemy territory and she knew coming here was risky, precautions had to be taken. The inconspicuous cloak she wore would completely conceal her lightsaber and a heavy slugthrower pistol, while only modestly revealing a partially hidden blaster on her right leg. It wasn't uncommon to carry a simple weapon and would prevent some unwanted attention.

What for would she take such risks to come here, maybe is a question? She was in need of some specific tech and Metellos happened to be the closest top tier technology exporter. It was likely she would be able to find what she was looking for here. Going under her real name of Tiiona, the Miraluka was already second day on the planet. Through questions, small bits of threatening and use of local business network she had already found a store which specialized in the type of stuff she desired and might have what she needed. Moments after her ship landed on a leveled platform on Stratablock 7, the female Sith stepped down the ramp. For a minute she would glance down to the slums beneath. Metellos was a great world known for its advanced technology, capable of creating flying cities for its rich to live in. And yet, despite all those advances it had such a high percentage of poor, lower class citizens. This was only another proof that abuse and profiting from the weak was the way of the strong in the universe. As her ship's ramp closed, Tiiona walked away into the city.

The Jedi Knight was walking around Stratablock 7. It was a place that was elevated above the overpopulated and poor area of the planet. A shame that there were people who would do such a thing, but it was something that a simple person such as Zaren Bouqi had no control over. He was making his way over to the closest headquarters of CarinShare, then he would head over to it's rival, Nonsu, simply for the fact that if the Sith wanted to have strongholds on a planet before they invaded, taking control over the bigger corporations upon the planet would be a good stepping ground, right?

It seemed that way for him.

Too late now.

He began walking straight to the front door of HQ. His phrik boots only making the tell-tale sound of metal upon duracrete, and then he was inside. He had no appointments, but he meant to speak to someone, and assure their allegiance to the Galactic Republic.

This was somewhat disappointing and frustrating. The store did indeed have what she needed, but not all of it. There were some other small pieces that were essential for the whole module to work. What was most important was that the pieces had to be compatible and it was not easy to find matching parts for this. Of course the store keeper would not know where to get the remaining components, he probably did not even know what the parts she bought from his were used for. Lucky for her, the planet's famous information broker corporations were also on Stratablock 7. Darth Naomi decided to visit CarinShare HQ, maybe because it sounded more serious or maybe because it was closer to get to, or both.

It was a short procedure of submitting your query. Immediately people who specialized in information of that kind were contacted and in a couple minutes the blind Sith had her info. Smiling she would turn away from the screen, in a moment's joy dropping her force concealment for but a second, allowing her joy to spike through the force in tones of relief, sinister satisfaction and the intolerance towards the retarded store keeper. And that's when she saw the Phrik wearing, light force radiating Jedi at the entrance. And she knew she was in deep...

At first when he had entered CarinShare HQ, he hadn't been sure what he was sensing when he felt the bogan presence within the building. He had felt an excessive amount of relief, that was tainted by the dark side and intertwined with malevolence as if they had succeeded at something that sinister.

Within a moment, he blinked a few times within his helmet, the HUD activated in response, and then he turned in the direction where he sensed the Bogan Aura coming from. It was too late, when he looked in that direction, the HUD zoomed in upon the woman's position, and he was certain now that she was looking at him. Although she had things covering her eyes, he thought nothing of it and was already making his way towards her.

His hand dropped down to his side, near to where his lightsaber was, and he continued upon his direct path to the Dark Sider. He'd give her a chance before he drew his weapon.

At this point there were several paths Naomi could take. Her force alignment was not suppressed once again, so she could try to play innocent. The problem with that is that she was not sure it will be possible to mask her emotions and lies, also if he got close and did not believe her the Sith would be in a major disadvantage. Taking a hostage would pin her down. The best way seemed to try to run. This was enemy territory and who knows if there aren't other Jedi around a corner. All those kilos of energy resistant armor also made her reluctant to fight him. It was time for good old ninja tricks.

Before the blasphemer got close, Darth Naomi's left hand briefly got under her cloak. Then she would thrust both her hand towards her adversary. The motion would be used to unleash a force push, to stagger him momentarily while also clearing the way behind him, breaking a glass door. But before the push, out of the Miraluka's left palm a small black sphere would be released. The item was no fancy feat of technology, but a rather primitive tool used by thugs and even rioters - it was a smoke bomb. The pressure from the force push would break it, releasing the gas and then carrying it together with the push to flood and blind everything in front of her. Unless somehow interrupted, the female Sith would take this chance, jump forward over the Jedi and into the street.

When her hand came upwards, he didn't even hesitate and he had leapt upwards over the force push, and continued towards her. The force push didn't slow him down, but he noticed the smoke bomb, and when the smoke started to come out, his hand flicked at it, and the wave knocked the smoke bomb across the courtyard, as well as the smoke, and it cleared up everything.

Obviously it didn't work completely since force wave wasn't a continuous ability, so there was a bit of smoke lingering a little, and his infrared sights activated upon his rapid blinking commands, and then he located [member="Darth Naomi"] after she had leapt over the Jedi Knight, once he had landed on the ground.

His gauntlets clenched, and two phrik knives slid into each of his hands, and he charged after the Sith Knight, the force propelling him faster, and slowed down the world around him. He loved the feeling, and his right hand snapped out towards her, and his Mastery of Ballistakinesis took effect and launched the two knives in that hand straight towards the Sith's back.

They moved with an almost super sonic speed, faster than he was moving, and he meant to just throw her down to the ground with them. One to the shoulder, and one to the back of her knee. If she didn't somehow try to slow them down, they would probably shear off those limbs, but he couldn't see how that was possible since they were moving so fast.

For the future of the galaxy, Zee. Get her.

He nodded and went after the miralukan.

Although the Jedi had managed to read through her move and negated it, she found herself uninterrupted in her attempt to flee the building. But it seemed that even though the Miralukan Sith had managed to get outside, the resistant metal encased Jedi did not consider to let her go. Through the use of Force Sight, Naomi could quite clearly see the blades being drawn, what motion followed despite it being behind her back. If not for this, the flyers would more likely have found their way to hit her. But, since she noticed it before they were released with overwhelming speed, a powerful force jump managed to save her from crippling harm, or at least partially. The one meant for her shoulder buzzed through her cloak (always! The cloak never survives...) and past her right leg, creating a gash above the knee.

However, Naomi would only feel the pain as she landed on a rooftop of a nearby building. Her injured leg gave out on her and she had to make it into a roll or painfully crash. That just made her escape less likely... Throwing out another smoke screen, the female Sith continued to suppress her force signature while making another jump to a nearby roof and trying to move between some random stuff, to put obstacles in her pursuer's path if he was to throw more daggers at her.

The one phrik knife that hadn't hit her was pulled back to his hand when the large form of the Protector of Tython landed upon the roof of the building that she had been on moments ago, and when he brought his hand to his chest and began to ran, both of the knives cameback to his hands once he had located them and he started to chase the girl again.

His infrared sights were on, so even when she had leapt off of the building to the next one he was already travelling through the air right behind her, and unclipping his lightsaber from his belt as he rolled out of his landing, sliding for a moment on a knee and a heel to slow his momentum to transition into running easier.

He leapt over the smoke screen again, just seeing through it and seeing that she leapt down into the streets, and he followed from the rooftops, while she ran on the ground, it's not like she was being smart with it either, she just kept running. And since he was unhindered, and built more or less for physical combat and things like this, he soon got in front of her, by just running along rooftops and then he leapt down from the roof to in front of her, igniting the purple beam of his lightsaber as he landed and he pointed it directly to her.

He threw the knife at her again, this time letting the force guide it to her, so that it would only scrape her neck at most and distract her for a moment so that he could close the distance, and he was only a moment behind it swinging his lightsaber up along her body diagonally.

[Please don't write where my character goes unless I write it first, as I like to choose my own actions. This is a minor instance of it, but the very same thing can be done to make my character jump off a cliff. I'll play along now, but please don't do it.]

Jumping over a few more narrow passages, Naomi soon realized she had to get off the roofs. Adrenaline surging through her veins made sure she could stand, but it would not keep her in such state for long and her leg was weakening with every jump. As her mind raced, she soon remembered a hanger not too far from here where she could find and mount a speeder, that would at least stop her leg condition from hindering her escape. With a heavy thud she'd land onto the street, while keeping a mental eye on her pursuer, who remained on the rooftops, running parallel to her. As soon as he made the jump, her left hand would grab one of the blasters and swiftly unload a whole volley at him while he was still in the air, aiming for head shots. It wasn't like she was going to just let him and and stab her to death.

The moment the man landed, assuming he did her right hand would fling a grenade into the air towards him, but out of his reach of he was to light a saber. With the explosive's detonation, after a short shockwave the area would be flooded with dust and dirt swirling in the air and Naomi would roll to her left into a passageway between buildings. It was starting to get harder to move to she had to employ some sort of trick and disappear and Force Cloak was what she did. With light bent around her she was effectively out of right, not counting the dirt and the wall that was an obstacle. She tried to make her way into another street while she still could maintain the cloak. Fighting that man was not a wise idea.

The Jedi Knight's speed was amplified by the force speed, her own speed was impeded by her weakening leg, and he knew it would only be amount of time until she decided that it was time for the chase to stop, and she would either fight or let herself be arrested, whichever it was, the outcome would be the same, that much he knew. It was clear the woman wasn't made for combat such as this.

He spiralled in the air, and he landed upon the ground, virtually unharmed despite burning holes within his black robes and and minor scorching marks upon his actual armour. There were few upon his helmet where she had been aiming, his lightsaber had lingered in front of him and acted as a shield to parry the bolts away from him before they could hit his actual face.

The thing was, when he landed she had released another circular object, and he had already taken in the environment in those few moments. He had to when he was in combat situations like these, there were always chances for escape for either target, so when the grenade had been flung, his infrared optics had returned, and what he had done was release a semi-sphere of a force bubble, and combined it with a force push and guiding the both of the abilities towards the alleyway just as the grenade exploded.

The smoke mostly blocked up the alleyway with the dust, but with his force sight and infrared optics, she wasn't going to get away. He had encountered a similar Sith upon Mon Calamari, though this one wasn't as adaptable, clearly. But that only made it easier for him, and he continued into the alleyway, assuming that she had been completely unharmed from the grenade's close proximity to her, and he followed the woman from the use of his infrared optics to the next street if she had made it.

"You can't escape."

[Sorry for a long wait, the invasion took an interesting turn for my character as it appears I am being captured there as well, let's assume this takes place before that. Oh also, infrared would not see through dirt, walls or force cloak (because it's also light), guess your use of force sight would help though, I intend to start going for the finish of this, please don't take her stuff]

The Jedi managed to thwart her attempt to trick him and sent the explosive back at her, aiming for the entrance of the alleyway that the Miraluka was in. Fortunately for her, it was simply not possible to get an ideal angle for it from where he stood in time before it exploded. Most of the shatter hit the walls, while dust and small debris showered everything in the narrow path, Naomi included. Somehow she got out of there uninjured further and he remained on her trail, but apart from a few words he did not assault her, so she continued running. The hangar was already in sights, but at this point she would barely run, luckily the blood she left was behind her, not in front of her eyes. Only with the aid of the force fueled by her evergrowing fear of capture she managed to go on.

A sound of a door breaking and dust settling accompanied her entrance into the hanger. The inside was dark, or so she gathered, not being able to actually see it, but sensing all her surroundings through the force. Darth Naomi lunged and quickly hit behind some crates. If there were speeders here, she could not find them. Which meant she hand to think of something else. Very unwillingly she finally accepted that her escape was now impossible, in which case she had to make sure her brothers and sisters found out about this. In a small black sack she would put her prized gun, the tech she bought and a small device from her wrist. The device silently blinked red as it's distress beacon was activated, the codes only known to the One Sith and most likely untraceable by others. It was doubtful the signal was powerful enough to reach them across the stars, but it would lead them here if they got into this system. Making sure the sack remained well hidden, the Miraluka prepared to make her last stand, grasping two blaster pistols tightly and focusing her attention at the door where she expected her pursuer to appear at any moment.
