The original DT-1111 was a Mandalorian warrior, who went by the name of Corlys Skirata. Corlys served as a Commander within the Imperial Military, in command of the elite special forces unit known as ‘Special Task Force 110 “Death Mask”’. The primary charge of this special task force was to serve as the elite bodyguard and paramilitary force for Grand Moff Ignacious Korvan. While DT-1111 and the unit as a whole served with distinction both publicly and privately, Corlys would perish along with a whole squad of this task force due to the events surrounding the death of the Grand Moff.
Despite the assumptions of many who believed the unit met its end on that day, the Death Mask endured in the form of several secondary squads scattered across different installations. During the aftermath of Ignacious’ death, his son Tiberius would consolidate power around himself in the effort of securing his own survival. Chief among these efforts, was rallying the balance of the Death Mask. The extensive cloning facilities funded by his father would be discovered, along with the ability to replenish the task force’s ranks accordingly. So it was that a ready-made replacement for the late Corlys Skirata would be found, in a near-perfect biological clone from his DNA.

DT-1111 is every bid the image of his progenitor, with a physique seemingly carved from stone, along with the gene enhancements native to the famed Death Trooper corps.
