Special Features:
Packs a big punch and small AOE discharge of a 2 meter wide possible kill zone on impact for unarmored targets, up to 5 meters away you are probably feeling the impact with or without armor. Having decent tensile strength in the metal itself makes it hardy to stretching or puncturing. The weapon comes with a standard x5, x10, or x20 adjustable scope, a carrying spacer's leather strap to secure the gun, cleaning kit and beginners holobook for safe maintenance.

Description:
Packing a heck of a kick to both the shooter and the target, the DS-8K is a relatively simple concept and named appropriately. Pack a lot of energy into a ball and then hit your target with the resulting force. It’s a simple, reliable rifle, good for most weather conditions and its trimantium material gives it a good tensile strength against force attacks or other impacts looking to pull it to pieces or puncture it, meaning ripping the metal itself out of someone's hands is a bit harder, especially when wearing the shoulder strap.

A friend to ranged soldiers looking for a secondary weapon they can rely on for some stopping power, as well as civilian home defense. Its isn’t too heavy because the ammo count is relatively low, so putting it over your shoulder as a backup doesn’t impede you too much. It does not take a lot of skill to use given its splash damage, and being reliable you can leave it at home for years and be sure its going to work when you need it, making it a good choice for home protection.

Disruptors are illegal on many worlds because of how they react to living matter, disintegration the probable result for anything unarmored but this varies world to world, species to species, with the weapon sometimes requiring licensing.

Being an energy weapon, shields and armor resistance will play a part, but its got high amount of impact force to its large projectiles, and if it connects directly its more likely than most energy weapons to cause damage, break bones, blow out a shield or penetrate armor through sheer force, which also means you don't want to be standing too close as it has a clear minimum range.

It can be scoped and like most guns taken to pieces to be cleaned, this one taking about 3 minutes to be taken apart and 3 minutes to put back together, nothing special compared to a more common rifle. Coming with a shoulder strap to fit around your neck or shoulder, allowing it to be carried as a backup weapon. It can be reloaded by swapping out the powercell in the barrel, but will overheat if this is done more than twice in a battle.

Strengths
+ Packs a heck of an impact
+ Is accurate, and comes with a scope.
+ Has AOE splash damage
+ Is a hardy, reliable, and light secondary weapon for ranged combatants
+ Disintegrates Living Matter, making it a possible terror weapon.

Weakness
- Even though it’s a very powerful discharge, and packs a kick, can be partially blocked, absorbed or fully negated by energy resistant shields or armor.
- Very low ammo count.
- Single Shot Fire Mode Only
- Will overheat if reloaded more than twice in a short battle.
- Its splash damage makes using it below a range of 7 meters hazardous to the user.

Pretty interesting concept with the splash damage, reminds of Dash Rendars disruptor. You've given it really solid weaknesses making this very balanced. Just one remark about the tensile strength and force attacks - due to its material it is not easily destroyed by pulling (stretching) movements but this does not mean it is harder to disarm a user with the Force i.e Force Pull it out of your hands, correct ?

Thanks for taking a look.

True I would say a bit harder, because you couldn't rip the metal grip or handle itself as easily, but the person's hand is no more or less protected or secured. I should dev a sub one day that counters that specifically, here you've got the shoulder strap at least as a safety measure, if its worn around the shoulder.

Altered the Description and Special Features sections to better reflect that.

Added.
