Private Drugs Are Bad

Fighting against crime wasn't something Iris did a lot of. Fighting wasn't what she wanted to do, not in the streets. But sometimes it was a necessity. Her paint covered form sprinted through the streets. Yelling filled the world behind her. The gang she'd been going against caught wind of her location, and now she was being hunted. Rounding another corner she came face to face with another of the thugs. Leveling a blaster towards her. She frowned, but she didn't stop.

Iris dipped down under the shot. Got right into his guard before jumping overhead and away. He turned, unware of the small sphere she'd set on his chest. Just as he went to pull the trigger, the paint bomb went off. A cloud of blue erupted, leaving him in a cloud of chalky paint. He coughed, waved his arm to try and clear it.

But Iris was already gone. Leapt to the roof to get out of sight. And there she rested, closing her eyes. Running around and not using her lightsaber made this all difficult. Worth it, to keep the gang from thinking there was Jedi here. But exhausting. The occasional help she got from her fellow Padawans was always useful. Maybe it was time to ask for another.

The Path of Shadows - Two Feathers

Ichika Masudo wasn't a vigilante, but why she was here, following the trail of the one that had called on her, garbed from head to toe in a manner that befit shinobi, rather than Jedi... she had her own reasons. In reading the message mere hours before, she had to wonder if the Keshian knew the kinds of things that would pull her in, or maybe it was her way with the blade.

No matter. She was thankful for the unexpected arrival of a ko-wakizashi the day prior, roughly the length of a tanto, as if her father had forseen this... or maybe it was coincidence. The matter had been discussed, but that was months ago. Judging from the streets and alleyways, some spaces were too narrow to comfortably or safely make use of a full katana, but at the same time, drawing a blade was indication that you were prepared to end a life. There was considerable ambivalence in her on that matter, but there was much that could be done with a saya, or hands and feet.

She came to the same rooftop with a swift jump and controlled impact, and approached with silent steps, slouching down with her co-conspirator and giving her a cursory glance. Wordlessly, she reached into the folds of her top and pulled out a small packet. Unwrapping it, Daisy offered a piece of the jerky to Iris, pulling one out for herself and pulling down the wrap that covered her own mouth.

"So this is where you disappear to."

Not an accusation, merely a statement. She nipped off a bite and chewed.

Another color.

For a moment, Iris thought someone followed her up. She tensed, readied her blade. Then, relaxed. No, it wasn't one of the thugs she left behind. She offered a brief smile once Daisy came into view, reaching out to accept some of the Jerky. Took a bite. Chewed. Chewed some more. Oh wow Jerky needed a lot of chewing. Iris blinked in surprise, continuing to chew with a renewed vigor as she tried to finish the bite she took before responding.

Finally, she did respond.

"Ah, yeah. Had to run a little. Sorry if I was late to meet up, heh. Things here are.. Always busy?" She laughed. Nervously. Even after spoiling the shipment with Zoar Zoar the Giggledust hadn't left the streets. There had to be more facilities. The laugh died off to a more grim expression.

"You know the rules, right? The Master's can't know about this, not yet."

The Path of Shadows - Two Feathers

Always busy... Daisy rolled those two words over in her thoughts. Like Coruscant, it bustled, so full of people, their noise, their emotions... how palpable some of those emotions were above all else, as she'd traversed from where she set down, to here. The way Iris laughed made her brow pull together just a bit, mild concern setting in.

She chewed, and chewed, and swallowed.

"What was that saying?" her blue eyes slipped over to Iris, "Ah, 'It's easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission'?" she responded, knowing that this wouldn't have come to her as it did, or at all, if the masters were aware, "I only brought hard blades."

Daisy smiled mildly. Giggledust was only the beginning, sometimes... or the tip of the iceberg.

"What's the plan?"

She took another bite, and chewed.

Hard blades. Lethal. Iris frowned slightly, but they weren't lightsabers. That was the other rule, after all. No letting the thugs know they were Jedi. Iris took another, smaller bite, her gaze shifting back over the town. A lot of people needed their help. But the help of a Jedi would only get them in trouble. Them being the locals. "That's more the issue. I'm not sure how the Giggledust is still around. So.. I'm not really sure where to go from here, asides from beat up a seller and find their boss, and go from there."

She swallowed after some chewing. The jerky was a nice little bit of protein, and took up little space. The Keshian's frown wasn't lost on her.

"I don't intend to draw my blades unless there is no other option," she clarified, "The saya... ehh, the sheath is just as good a weapon," Daisy glanced at the last bit jerky, held between her fingers, "but I will rely on my martial arts training, most of all."

That should more than suffice.

"What about..." a panicked scream rose above the din, putting an end to the question at the tip of her tongue. She rose to a crouch, flicked her gaze towards the direction of the noise, and grasped the sharp rise in the fear... no, terror that permeated the night, "Did you hear that?"

What they didn't hear was the begging, the pleading. Daisy popped the last morsel in her mouth, pulled the cloth back up over her nose and mouth, and glanced back to Iris.

"I will do the beating, you do the talking."

A scream. A flash of terror. Iris's eyes narrowed as she turned her gaze to where the greying colors were coming from. She didn't respond verbally. Just nodded as she pulled down her hood. That'd have to do, she figured. Then took off in a sprint.

"We fight together. Never alone. Not on these streets."

Daisy took off, following after Iris. Where the Keshian could see the colours of emotion, the half-Zeltron could perceive those nuances almost as if they were her own, but she had long-since learned to differentiate between what she gleaned from others and what was her own.

“Reasonable.”

That was all she said. Reaching the rooftop across the alley from the flat where the scream had emanated, there was a brief stop. Then a blaster shot went off, and a crash sounded from said flat as the assailant thudded against the window with the wounded shoulder, then the whole of his upper back; the window shattered at the impact, just before he lurched forward, back into the midst of the flat with an enraged roar.

“You’re dead, betch.”

Ichika frowned beneath the wrapping about her head, but deferred to Iris with a glance.

Iris didn't stop. She landed on the rooftop and immediately shot towards the next building. True to her nickname, she plucked out one of her paint bombs as she crashed through the window. Tossed it. A wave of blue washed over the room as she weaved through. Snatched the blaster from the woman's shaking grip. Launched a foot for the chin of the man so enraged. There was a thud as he dropped, and a cry of panic from the now paint covered woman.

"You're alright." Iris kept her words soft, glancing to the blaster for a brief moment.

"Tell me what happened."
