Aside from balance, what keeps droid NPCs and mainly PCs from having the type of shields that biologic characters can't cause of the cancer thing?

Uhh... I dunno, Hydra Droids, Primes, those big ones, I suppose they could petition.
Or do a quick development thread for some perky doodads, like shields.

I am planning to dev up a better body for Besh, with phrik or cortosis base and some type of ion shield to protect from ion attacks.
Just going to wait until Finals are over, priorities and such.
