GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Dren-Mura
  • Origins: Al-Khālī: The Academy of the Dead
  • Other Locations: Various worlds it is seeded to for biological weapon attacks
  • Classification: Botanical
  • Average Growth Cycle: 2 years to grow from seed to maturity and then able to survive as long as it feeds off meat and force users. Able to hibernate for long periods of time while feeding off of nutrients on the world.
  • Viability: Oxygen heavy world with meat either animals or humanoids.
  • Description: Created as a dangerous variant of the Drengir through experimentation on the progenitor by feeding it infected and alchemically altered orchids. The seeds that began to be produced from it were a hybrid seed forming into a more dangerous variant with a ravenous taste for flesh but also creating a black ooze in the body that would spread spores and grow into more orchids. THeir bodies able to survive dismemberment and much more durable even being animated after death. The orchid has given them a darker coloring and orchids grow on their bodies and can be harvested by force users.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION

  • Color: Dark greens and reddish coloring

  • Toxicity: Reanimation of Necrotized flesh, Ravenous Hunger
  • Other Effects: Corrupted Root mind
  • Distinctions: Bodies drained of vitality and energy reanimate as ravenous corpses to attack others spreading the infection.
Strengths:
  • Collective: A twice formed mindset. The Drengir Root mind combines all of them in a group and the Orchids collective intelligence means they can act in unison and slowly learn. Giving the Dren-Mura a steep learning curve when it comes to adding others to their root mind.
  • Domination: While not perfect, their corruptive mental attacks to combine and convert others to their service and to betray their friends delivering them to the Drengir is more dangerous spreading the wanting to feed more and more.
Weaknesses:
  • Force Nullification: Being a force being nullification fields harm them physically and mentally. Severing them form the root mind or making their ability to move under their own weight next to impossible.
  • Force Light: Being a darkside creature the lightside of the force is exceptionally powerful against the Drengir normally as mutated sithspawn creatures it does exponentially more damage to them.
  • Atmosphere: A big weakness of the drengir, vacuum prevents their bodies from healing as they need the oxygen to regrow body parts.
  • Progenitor: THe root mind is one of the most dangerous and what happens to the progenitor can attack and affect all of the children it has made. From being put to sleep to death if it is destroyed.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Created from experiments in the sith medical academy, their experiments with the infected and sickness on various species and creatures to record the best means to spread infection and weaponize them. When rumors of active Drengir came that had been engaged by the old empress Ashin... well they needed to search them out. Finding the world a progenitor was on and bringing it while it was in stasis back to the academy they took dozens of precautions that would prevent it from escaping and failsafes that were controlled by individuals who would be away from the root mind. The protection for them as much as for the creature as in the lowest depths was another collective mind from the infected. The goal being to slowly infect and harvest it.. to see if they could be used as biological weapons against each others. After all what was the point of unleashing a plague on a world if you didn't have a means to control and cleanse it.

The results were different, the infected progenitor producing seeds that could be rooted and grow. The drengir different as they seemed to be connected to both the infected and the root minds... giving them a steep ability to learn and share that knowledge with the other infected. The experiments on it showed it grew orchids and was if could be believed even more voracious in terms of its hunger. Now being able to drastically overpower most prey and infect them as well as eat. It made for a dangerous biological weapon that could be deployed and like several of the stronger infect a few groups were put in stasis to be transported. They would be able to be set on worlds of the jedi or Alliance or anyone who was considered enemies. Seras taking some interest as after the results of Drengir on Hetzel and their rate of attack vs infection of the food only stopped by Ko Vuto Ko Vuto interfering for a time... he still provided some other experiments.

The medical academy continued to work and brought in alchemists who would be able to work on the creatures that were being produced... augmenting them into a new mutation that could be spread and grown across the galaxy. The thought of the sickness reanimating the drengir if they are torn apart more and more to the point they could continue to attack like other species.... was a powerful motivator with so many foes who could and were able to cut down countless jobbers as many would jokingly say.
