OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
• Intent: A wearable that captures and records visual and auditory information. A boon to visionaries, farseers, psychometrists, flow-walkers, artists, witnesses, spies, designers, therapists, interrogators, and really just about anyone.
• Image Source: “Neural Head Dress” by Josh Powers, found at https://www.artstation.com/artwork/xQ2lR
• Canon Link: N/A
• Restricted Missions: N/A
• Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
• Manufacturer: Bard Independent (design and prototype), Silk Holdings (licensed production)
• Model: Dreamscape Headset
• Affiliation: Open market (may be used by any character without permission from the Manufacturer)
• Modularity: Compatible with various neural implants, mainly those that interact with or record sensory information.
• Production: Mass-produced
• Material: Electronics
SPECIAL FEATURES
• Monitors how the brain’s visual and auditory centres process dreams, visions, powerful memories, or precise visualization.
STRENGTHS
• Turns strong mental images, dreams, hallucinations, Force visions, powerful memories, etc. into transferable data.
• Formats include audio, 2D video, and 3d holo, playable through any standard media device.
WEAKNESSES
• Output is intrinsically bound up with the variability of perception. The user's mental and emotional state can have strong effects on scale, proportion, hue, saturation, perspective, background noise, and/or level of detail. Even dishonesty can distort the output, though that would require a deep and practiced self-deception. (Note that these limitations may benefit some users, such as artists.)
• Only usable by humans, near-humans, mammalian humanoids, etc.
• After data is captured and transferred to a media device, it is vulnerable to interference, editing, or deletion. The wearer is likewise vulnerable to hallucinogens or Force influence.
DESCRIPTION
The Dreamscape is a headset composed of neural sensors that evaluate how visual and auditory centres process imaginative experiences. Connory built the original for rapid prototyping, but the technology proved to have much broader applications. For example, a shipwright or engineer could connect the Dreamscape to a holo design table and turn visualization into a schematic. A witness could provide court with a subjective image of their memories. A Jedi could create holorecords of symbolic or clairvoyant visions, both to reexamine and to share.

The Dreamscape comes integrated with its own small holoprojector and speakers for real-time output, and is compatible with a wide variety of media equipment.
