OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Every Mando needs a best friend.
  • Image Credit: Snagged from this image.
  • Role: Dezoraths companion, friend and steed at times. Assists Dezorath when he needs help hunting or a quick escape.
  • Links: N/A
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: No one really knows...
  • Force Sensitivity: Force User
  • Species: Loth-wolf
  • Appearance: Stands two meters tall and one and half meters in length. Drayth is a large creature with white coarse fur, orange eyes, large protruding fangs and a scar over his left eye. Due to his size he is easy to spot in the open and in a crowd
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Drayth
  • Loyalties: Dezorath
  • Notable Possessions: None
  • Personality: Smart. Crafty. Strong but also fierce.
  • Training: Unlike most beast companions. Drayth is actually sentient and capable of thinking for himself. Drayth can speak basic but rather communicates telepathically, specifically to Dezorath. Drayth is not a pet or animal to be tamed and has been taught no tricks or skills. Instead Drayth is the one who could teach Dezorath skills and lessons. As a Loth-wolf Drayth has a very deep connection to the force and is capable of several applications. Mind tricks, Hibernation trance, Healing or purging of toxins and lastly the strange ability to travel through a different dimension to arrive at another location. Dezorath has only witnessed this occur once after in dire need to saving. Best way he could describe it was travelling through hyperspace. Little did he know that Drayth was able to travel through a place called the world between worlds.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Combat Function: In combat Drayth takes a less active role unless called or needed. Drayth uses his large mass, strength and fangs to rip into armored foes and drag them off. By all intents and purposes he fights like a wolf but is far smarter than just an animal. Drayth often will show advanced flanking tactics, psychological ploys and work in tandem with Dezorath to take down a foe. Rarely does he actively use his force abilities in less they are needed or it is life or death.
Strengths:
  • Very Intelligent.
  • Capable of communication, passing on knowledge and tactics.
  • Able to travel instantaneously through the world between worlds he deems it fit.
  • Fast, agile and strong
Weaknesses:
  • Often is mistaken as just a beast. An issue for public places.
  • Prone to running off and doing his own thing.
  • Wears no armor or equipment. Has no possessions.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Lothal. That was the planet where Dezorath had discovered Drayth. Originally poaching, looking for pelts to sell to a local client. The gen'dai found he was in over his head after attempting to shoot a large loth-wolf in the back leg. The projectile never steered close to the animal. Blitzing into movement the wolf sprinted toward the hunter after dashing behind a medium sized hill. With Dezoraths size and speed it did not take him long to cut the wolf off or would of. The wolf was no there. Next thing Dezorath knew he was waking up in a cave with the animal starring directly at him. No clue how he got there or how the animal knocked him out the two slowly began to communicate as the story goes. In person Dezorath states Drayth(The wolf) owes him a life debt but no one really knows and truth is... It is Dezorath that owes Drayth the life debt.

But he would never admit that. Who would?!

I like the pic and seeing more animals being subbed. There's a bunch of ground to cover, but once we've addressed it, we can move this to approved.

Force Sensitivity: Master
This needs to be edited to be in accordance with the Beast Companion Template.

Force Sensitivity: [ Choose from: Force Dead, Non-Force User, Untrained Force Sensitive, Force User. ]

It has to be one of those categories. In this case, Force-User would be appropriate.

I have done some research on the teleportation/dimension-hopping abilities of Loth-Wolves and consulted members of Codex staff who are more knowledgeable about the Rebels series than I. The consensus is that it would be best to rephrase this and add a weakness.

The Wikia is ambiguous on whether they can dimension-hop from anywhere they want or whether this ability is something they can only use while on Lotha. The Loth-Wolf article implies that this power is bound to Lothal:

"They were strongly connected to the Force of Lothal, making them capable of remarkable feats."

"He included the wolf because of his love of the creature, but also because of the cultural perception of wolves as guides. He further stated that the loth-wolf is a natural element of the Force on Lothal."

However, other articles make it seem ambiguous, though these only provide limited information and in one case it's just a stub (Hyper Tunnel, World Between Worlds, White Loth Wolf Sub).

With that in mind, I do believe that this should be more in line with what is written in the Loth-Wolf article. In keeping with this, the Loth-Wolf should draw a least some of his strength for his teleportation 'feats' from Lothal itself because there is no Canon evidence of these powers being used elsewhere.

Due to the degree of ambiguity, I believe we can achieve a middle ground by allowing phasing to decent distances and even have some limited teleportation once he is no longer on Lothal. But he would be unable to make any huge jumps once he's not on Lothal because departing the planet has resulted in losing part of the innate power source.

Keep in mind that using this power as a 'get out of jail free card' without any drawbacks is likely to result in a report. Even with the above caveat, Drayth still has a pretty powerful ability. Ergo I'd advise adding some sort of weakness to it. Maybe he gets more fatigued the longer the jump is. And his jumps require a good deal of focus and concentration, especially when not on Lothal since there's less of a power source to tap in.

Apologies for the wall of text. I had to do some reading and cover a number of things.
