The Biograpghy

Draven Vex was born beneath the perpetual haze of Mahporeem, a planet where civilization had long since learned to survive among the ruins of everything that had come before it. His childhood was spent amid mountains of twisted durasteel, shattered starship components, discarded machinery, and the ever-present clanger of salvage yards. Alongside his father and three brothers, two older and one younger, Draven learned the harsh arithmetic of survival; what could be repaired, what could be sold, and what was better left buried beneath the scrap.

Their family worked long hours stripping useful materials from wreckage and abandoned vessels, selling whatever they could recover for enough credits to keep food on the table and their modest home functioning. It was not a glamorous upbringing, but it instilled in Draven a stubborn work ethic, mechanical intuition, and an understanding that nothing was truly worthless if one possessed the patience to find its purpose.

As he grew older, Draven became determined to escape the scrapyards without abandoning the lessons they had given him. His opportunity came when he enrolled in the Mahporeem Imperial Naval Academy system, where his natural aptitude for machinery, navigation, and rapid decision-making quickly drew the attention of his instructors.

Training transformed the former junkyard salvager into a disciplined naval officer, while specialized flight instruction revealed an unexpected talent for starfighter piloting. Draven excelled in simulations, atmospheric maneuvers, and combat exercises, developing the calm precision necessary to survive in the unforgiving void of space. Upon graduating from the Academy, he was commissioned and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, marking the beginning of a new chapter far removed from the scrap fields of his childhood.

Now assigned to the Mahporeem Imperial Navy, Draven Vex carries the lessons of Mahporeem's junkyards with him.

Personality Traits

Lieutenant Vex is, above all else, an honest and disciplined man, shaped by a life in which hard work and personal responsibility were necessities rather than virtues preached from a podium. He speaks plainly and has little patience for deception, preferring an uncomfortable truth over a comforting lie. His years on Mahporeem and his military education instilled in him a strong sense of discipline, patience, and perseverance.

Draven rarely abandons a task simply because it becomes difficult, and once he has committed himself to a course of action, convincing him otherwise can be nearly impossible. That determination, however, often crosses into stubbornness. He can become so fixed upon his convictions that even sound arguments struggle to move him, particularly when he believes someone is questioning his competence or loyalty.

Despite his serious military nature, Lieutenant Vex possesses a sharp and often irreverent sense of humour. He frequently uses sarcasm as both entertainment and a weapon, delivering dry remarks with a straight face even in situations where others might consider the timing inappropriate. Beneath that humour, however, lies a distinctly hotheaded temperament. Draven can tolerate frustration for a surprisingly long time, but once his patience finally breaks, his temper can flare with considerable force.

He is not naturally cruel or needlessly aggressive, but his pride, stubbornness, and fiery disposition can push him into confrontations he might later regret. Still, his honesty tends to make him straightforward about his mistakes, and he would rather admit that he was wrong than hide behind excuses; a quality that earns him both respect and occasional headaches among his fellow officers.
