PERSONALITY:
Experience with war forced out his emotions, making him into a ruthless killer whether out in the trenches or the dense jungles. Despite that, he still carries with him a sense of pride and honor as a soldier. Far from the basic automaton of the Empire, his goal is to bring peace within the galaxy even if that means fixing the shortcomings of the Empire. If he sees anyone on the Empire’s payroll neglecting their duties or abusing their power, he won’t hesitate to purge them from command and find someone who is worthy to serve the empire.

BIOGRAPHY:
Draven Darkstar was born and raised in the city of Vuultin on Brentaal IV. At age nineteen, he was enrolled into the city’s Imperial Academy. After several weeks of training, he managed to earn his white clad Imperial storm trooper armor. With his strong work ethic, he solved many cases involving minor conflicts with troublemakers such as petty thieves, minor smugglers, or small gangs claiming to be Rebel groups. Eventually he gains recognition when he discovers a Rebel scout hiding within the city, earning him the Badge of Honor and a promotion to squad commander. He was considered the “golden” boy among his peers, and was always at his superiors’ beck and call. A bright future was ahead of him as he was positioned to fly through the ranks. During this time he felt like he doing significant work for the Empire, as if he were an essential part of it. This thought process is partially due to heavy praise bestowed upon him by Tarion Spince, the commanding officer who ran the installation. He even found himself on friendly terms with Spince, able to talk with little regard for formality. This casual nature between officers and their subordinates was commonplace in the Vuultin installation, mainly resulting from the territory’s secure position within the Empire and the many years without any real threats of resistance efforts or Rebel attacks. Command became comfortable in assuming that all citizens in the sector would be compliant, so those on top were much less strict than in most other installations. Draven’s accomplishments, the constant praise, and the easygoing work environment all contributed to his ego, making him cocky and arrogant. Like his commanding officers, he concluded that their sector had achieved true order. More importantly, he assumed it was because of his own efforts. However, unbeknownst to both Draven and the outpost, a real insurrection was beginning to move upon them and completely dismantle their delusions of grandeur.

After a long day, Draven was meeting up with his squad at a cantina. However, before they could even wave to Draven, several explosions engulfed the local hangout. Out of his squad of sixteen, only four men survived. After regaining his bearings, Draven managed to see group of Rebels escaping the area. Driven by a blinding rage, Draven ignored orders saying not to pursue and instead gave chase on a speeder. However, this was a trap. A proximity mine was set nearby, which blew up Draven’s speeder hurled him into the ground. He awakened in a medical bay, and noticing that his left eye and right arm are missing and that his body was heavily bandaged due to severe burns. He was awarded for his bravery, but he barely gives it a thought due to the guilt he felt over the loss of his comrades and his failure to apprehend the terrorists. For weeks he punished himself by hardly eating and refusing his medication. However, he noticed that his surviving brothers were suffering due to a lack of proper medical supplies and treatment. This snapped Draven out of his state of self-imposed torture, now driven by a desire to help his remaining squad mates.

Draven demanded to know who was shortening their supplies. After scouring the facility, he managed to find Spince quivering as he was scolded before a high ranking admiral. The admiral, Vexa Ghast, was in a nearby sector during the attack and was the one who responded to the distress signal sent out by the installation. Draven brazenly confronted her about the medical supplies, addressing her like he would his usual commanding officers. After attempts at ignoring him fail, Ghast harshly berated Draven. She informed him that he and his squad should grin and bear it as such conditions were common in a real war - supplies are always short when so many need it at once. She was also quick to point out that the incompetent leadership at this installation was what lead to its forces being so easily defeated. She notes that Spince, the commanding officer who Draven revered for so many years, was cowering in his quarters during the incident, and had been stripped of his rank as punishment. These revelations opened Draven’s eyes. He didn’t know the first thing about fighting in a war - not even his former commander knew that. He became so comfortable in his environment that he never realized that it was all an artifice, that serving in such a safe area wouldn’t be of any real use to the Empire. He concluded that he would never go anywhere if he stayed here, so it was time for a change.

After being refitted with a cybernetic arm and eye, Draven put in a transfer request to join the admiral’s legion aboard her Star Destroyer, known as the The Decimator. Impressed by his dedication and convinced of his potential to be a better soldier, Ghast accepted his request. However, she stripped him from his rank, reducing him to a private. Partly due to Draven’s mangled appearance but mainly at the command of the admiral herself, the officers above Draven treated him unfairly. This made Draven’s training a living hell, but he endured. While Draven began to hate the admiral, he also admired her strong, effective command. Ghast paid close attention to Draven’s training, strongly influencing his development. She hardened, or rather sharpened, Draven into what she would call “Death's perfect blade.” After countless missions, he was given the rank of storm commando, one of the Empire's deadliest specializations. With his trademark black armor, he struck fear into the hearts of rebel cells and foes alike. He eventually went back to Brentaal IV, only to whip the inadequate troopers to shape.
