Name: Dragon's Keep (Stronghold)

Intent: To provide the Red Ravens with their first permanently established military base. This is to be used to provide extra security to the Dragon Palace Casino, provide defense in the event of invasion, and police the surrounding city areas on Antecedent.

Classification: Prefabricated Garrison Base

Location: Near Dragon Palace Casino, Antecedent

Affiliation: Red Ravens (Xalus as Commanding Officer)

Population: An IM-455 Modular Garrison Base was typically housed up to 3,000 personnel divided as follows.
  • 300 Command Personnel (Z1 and TA3 Droids)
  • 500 Support/Services Personnel (Organic and Z2 Droids)
  • 200 Technical Personnel (Organic staff)
  • 200 Science Personnel (Organic scientists)
  • 100 Medical Personnel (Organic, S1, 2-1B, and IM-6 Droids)
  • 100 Gunners/Weapons Technicians (TA1 and AD-series Droids)
  • 80 Vehicle Technicians (Z5 Droids)
  • 70 Trade Mission/Diplomatic Personnel (Organic)
  • 60 Ground Crew Technicians (Organic)
  • 25 Traffic Controllers (Organic)
  • 25 Sensor Technicians (Organic)
  • 50 Scout Personnel (DRK-1 Droids)

Defenses: IM-455 Modular Garrisons were equipped with three heavy twin turbolasers and six heavy laser turrets, as well as tractor beam projectors.

While these garrisons were shielded, they also provided extensive ground defenses such as anti-infantry and anti-vehicle minefields, and a ten meter high electrified death fence. The fence had a variable power setting, so it could either severely shock a being or outright turn them into a pile of ashes, depending on the commander's choice and/or mood.

To get through the fence and into the base, units had to pass through force field gates. These were flanked by two guard towers with TA1 Battle Droids on constant duty and positioned evenly around the fence's perimeter. Running behind the fence and parallel to it was an elevated catwalk patrolled by battle droids and mercenaries with guard towers - each one equipped with electrobinoculars, floodlights, and an alarm system - spaced at every 100 meters.

In addition to the above defensive emplacements and armaments are the following combat and combat support staff.
  • 40 Fighter Pilots (Organic and Z6 Droids)
  • 800 Combat Arms Personnel (Organic, TA1, and TA2 Droids)
  • 200 Perimeter Support Troops (TA1 Droids)
  • 150 Base Security/Detention Troops (TA1 Droids)
  • 40 Shock Troops (TA4 Droids)
This ground troop contingent also supported a small mechanized/aerial force.

Points of Interest: The most notable point of interest within the Dragon's Keep compound is the central tower. It broadcasts a wide range of military commands through a secure, encrypted HoloNet transmission to droid and organic units stationed throughout the citysacpe of Antecendent.

Outside of the compound is another story. After passing the guards, force field gate, death fence and minefield is simply nothing but flat ground. While much of that ground is fashioned and decorated much like a park is, it's nothing to be tread upon lightly. Across a couple hundred meters of said ground is the Dragon Palace Casino.

Description: Constructed for and by the Red Ravens' new Head of Security, Xalus, is the Dragon's Keep. It was an old gift to the Red Ravens, presented to them by the more Imperial types of the One Sith in hopes that the criminal syndicate might one day finally create an official standing defense force to uphold their laws and customs.

Well, it wasn't.

Dragon's Keep isn't here to uphold laws and justice. It's here to defend the Dragon Palace and its surrounding areas to the best of its ability. While it may seem to be strange in putting a military fortification next to a casino, the security specialists applauded this motion in terms of mobility and closeness to its charge. Perimeter patrol teams are regularly deployed throughout the surrounding areas, including the Dragon Palace Casino, for routine security inspections and the occasional shakedown.

Guard rotations are kept to a minimum, with the rotation schedule being altered at random intervals as to maintain vigilance against outside attempts at infiltration. There simply is a 360 degree view of the base at all times, be it a gate guard, a tower gunner, or a sensor operator in the central tower.

Regarding the internal affairs of the Dragon's Keep are fairly simple operations. The base consisted of eight levels, topped by a sensor and communications tower. Levels one through five, all identical in shape and size, consisted of the large surface vehicle bays where they were stored, maintained, and deployed from. They also contained much of the personnel quarters, armory, detention cells, mess hall, medbay, and various key base areas.

Level six held the officers' quarters, pilots' quarters, command rooms and so on. Level seven consisted entirely of the fighter hangars. Level eight was the deployment chute and control rooms for the fighters, being retrieved and manipulated by the base's powerful tractor beams. Dragon's Keep also had underground sub-levels which contained the various generators and main infrastructure.

History: The Dragon's Keep story is a short and simple one. It was a gift from the Imperial types among the One Sith's ranks in hopes that the Red Ravens would use it to ensure order and justice. While that was all and well, the Ravens didn't even consider using the prefabricated base at all.

Only when the relations between the Sith and Ravens soured was when it became activated by the new Head of Security, Xalus. It was established for peacetime and war operations, securing the surrounding areas of the Dragon Palace casino and the casino itself should it come under attack. The Dragon's Keep also serves as the Red Ravens' primary command post, directing all official military operations through face-to-face conferences, encrypted networks, or other secure methods.

If I make you wait more than two days for a reply please send me a PM. My apologies.

Alright, after reviewing this submission I'm going to ask for a dev thread with a minimum of 30 posts and two writers.

Seeing as this is for a Major Faction's capital planet, its not unbelievable but I'd like a further show of work for this.

While I do understand your want of a development thread for this, I don't believe that it's necessary. This is a canon article, completely stock in description and use. I don't think it's worth 30 posts to simply detail everything I've written here, especially when the only things I've altered are the types of personnel and vehicles stored within this base. I can drop numbers if you'd like, but I don't believe doing an extended development thread for something that's canon to be this deserving.

A military base almost always requires a dev thread. Minor bases are usually 10 posts, larger ones can be 25.

Regardless of it being canon or not this is a pretty substantial military base. It's high security, well armed, and has an array of military vehicles at its disposal; not to mention has nearly 3,000 personnel. Something like this has lot of use for a major faction outside of invasions. It could be used to hold key prisoners, store sensitive technology, and protect VIPs.

I'm asking for 30 posts because the Dragon Palace Casino is already a fortress in its own rights and didn't require a dev thread. If the RR wants to expand on Antecedent's defenses I expect a dev thread. I'm not asking a lot from a faction who I've witnessed first hand garnering posts easily within an evening.
