OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: A droid to help militaries and Jedi learn to fight the Draelvasier.
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: Draelvasier
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: A Kubaz robotics team in collaboration with Massive Mobility
  • Affiliation: Jedi academies, closed market (ask first)
  • Model: DSCRD (Draelvasier Subspecies Configurable Replica Droid)
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Semi-unique
  • Material: Duranium, ceramic composite armour
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
  • Classification: Fourth Degree
  • Weight: Very Heavy (Extremely Heavy with density projector activated)
  • Height: Very Large (2.5-3.5 metres depending on configuration)
  • Movement: Bipedal
  • Armaments:
    • A variety of handheld training weapons similar to known Drael weapons. Can also use live weapons, such as a superheated spike launcher (analogous to a Drael spiker) for live fire exercises. Hands are too large for human-scale weapons as a general rule.
  • Misc. Equipment:
    • Infrared vision
    • Density projector
  • Resistances:
    • Energy: Very High (Tank mode), High (Priest and Brute modes)
    • Kinetic: Very High (Tank mode), High (Priest and Brute modes)
    • Lightsabers: Average (Tank mode), Low (Priest and Brute modes)
    • Heat/Cold: Very High (pretends to have a high resistance to one extreme and a vulnerability to the other, depending on whether it's impersonating Priests or Tanks)
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Drael subspecies impersonation through physical configuration, density projectors, and holograms
  • Temperature protection
  • Ceramic composite armour comparable to Drael armour
  • High-power servomotors
STRENGTHS
  • Can impersonate (imdraelinate?) each of the known Drael subspecies: Baedurin (a.k.a. Tanks, heat resistance, cold vulnerability); Aeravalin (a.k.a. Priests, cold resistance, heat vulnerability); and Sraelvun (a.k.a. Brutes, stupid).
  • Can apply physical strength and toughness identical to the Drael subspecies being impersonated.
  • Can see in the infrared.
  • Excellent environmental (heat/cold) resistance, inside and out, allowing it to mimic subspecies' resistances in behaviour.
WEAKNESSES
  • Bulk and density can be situational liabilities.
  • Won't impersonate a Drael to Drael eyes.
  • Can be blinded by heat like a Drael due to infrared vision.
  • Training droid, not a battle droid: hardwired not to kill. (Actual Drael are an exception, just in case.)
  • Limited numbers - can only provide a training experience equivalent to fighting an individual Drael, or a squad if a few droids are available.
DESCRIPTION
"But what disturbs me most is that fighting a Drael is a whole different paradigm, like fighting an armored savrip or a Yuuzhan Vong. The Jedi have no consistent experience or best practices that would help. We need to look harder at experience-based and evidence-based training. Fortunately, we have friends among the diaspora communities of the species that the Drael have murdered. A Kubaz robotics firm is building Drael-analogue droids - same strength, size, durability and so forth - to help galactic militaries and the Jedi learn how to fight them better. The first batch will be delivered to twenty Jedi enclaves this week. The project is reasonably secret because the Drael are masters of genetic adaptation."
