Based out of a minting facility owned by Darth Kentarch on Nar Shadda, Kentarch used a large Aurodium reserve to create his own physical currency. The currency is minted into a small bar that weighs one ounce or roughly twenty-eight grams. When forged, special droids use a special template and laser etch the surface of the bar giving it a fine and unique texture so it becomes nigh impossible to counterfeit. Thus the Drachma bar is easily authenticated by a simple scan to very if it's real or not. The bar itself is a small, flat, and thin bar made of copper, nickel, and a trace amount of aurodium. With no serial numbers and no tracking mechanisms, the Drachma becomes an ideal currency in transactions that need to be held off the books, or used as a medium in exchange in certain portions of the galaxy where sovereign credit based on Fiat Money have no value. All Drachma bars are made exactly the same and are worth hundreds of typical galactic credits.
