Misc. Equipment

SPECIAL FEATURES
Strengths:

 • Actuation System: The use of the Myomer Actuation System rather than typical droid actuators allows the Draagax-series more advanced strength and mobility than many other battle droids on the market.

 • Armor: Thanks to its actuation system providing extreme levels of strength, the Draagax-series is fitted with double-layered duranium plating impregnated with neutronium, making it exceptionally resistant to blaster fire as well as providing solid kinetic protection and light protection from lightsabers. Duramesh is used to cover the joints while allowing for enough flexibility to make it a threat in combat, keeping them well protected from blaster fire and lightsabers.

 • Security Systems: Several systems are present in the droids to keep them protected from outside interference, such as the Hermes communications encryption software, the Hydra mesh network, and most importantly the Mithril Security Software alongside a redundant socketguard.

 • Diatium Power Cells: Known for their exceptional longevity, Diatium power cells are used to power the droids, allowing it to operate its power-intensive actuator system, weapons, and other on-board systems for long stretches of time.
Weaknesses:

 • Ion Weaponry: A natural weakness of droids and automated systems in general, ion blasts are exceptionally effective against the Draagax-series’ systems and joints.

 • Mass: Larger than several other main-line battle droids, the Draagax-series takes up quite a bit of space, and while this has its advantages, it comes with several inherent issues. Chief among which is the fact that it can easily get trapped in hallways or rooms too small for it to properly move around in. Rocky and swampy terrain can also be an issue, as its weight can result in the droid being knocked off balance and falling over.

 • Skeleton Damage: The Myomer system requires the droid’s skeletal system to be sturdy in order to work properly without risking failure, and even the smallest compromisation of the ferrocarbon skeleton can lead to the actuators snapping, resulting in complete loss of use of the limb that’s been damaged. This can come from either significant shock such as that from particularly powerful explosives or from kinetic weaponry penetrating a limb and damaging the system or the skeleton itself.

 • Hand Retraction: In order to operate the automatic blaster cannon or the rocket launcher present in the Draagax-series’ arms, the hands need to retract to open the space for them both to fire. This can present a vulnerable moment if the droid is using its hands otherwise and is attacked, leaving a period of a few seconds for the hands to split and retract before they can be used.

 • Inaccurate Sensor Package: While the full-spectrum transceiver can detect a large array of phenomena, its low sensitivity in passive mode requires more specialized equipment to accurately pick up on what it is scanning for, putting it at a disadvantage as it can be slow to pick up on immediate threats with its primary sensor package.
DESCRIPTION

Designed to be a heavy-duty battle droid for use by the Silver Spacy during boarding and anti-boarding operations, the Draagax-series Super Battle Droid can take big hits and give them right back. Named for one of the more dangerous creatures of the galaxy, the DS is built with several special features to improve its effectiveness, mainly the Myomer actuation system, which provides extra strength and mobility even by droid standards, allowing it to utilize extremely heavy weaponry with its hands. It also contains several countermeasures such as a mesh network to ensure continued communications during jamming, and Mithril security software to prevent slicing.

As its combat capacity goes, the DS droid is well-armed and armored, with an automatic blaster cannon and rocket launcher inside of its right and left arms, respectively, splitting and retracting its hands in order to utilize either of them offensively. Its hands can also utilize tools and weapons, though preferably larger ones as standard-sized weaponry is often too small for them. This makes it an excellent option in a support role, as it can utilize heavier weaponry such as rotary blasters or launchers that would otherwise be too heavy for a standard trooper. Defensively it contains a double layer of neutronium-impregnated duranium, making it exceptionally resilient against even heavy blaster fire, with the Myomer system providing enough raw power that the added weight doesn’t slow it down.

Each unit comes with several typical droid features such as universal sockets, a scomp link, A/V recording software, and a holoprojector. The DS droid also comes with a general purpose scanner, allowing it to pick up on life form signatures, communication signals, and detect motion among other things. In addition they come with a full spectrum sensor package for passive detection, with both used in tandem, as the sensors pick up phenomenon passively, though inaccurately, while the scanner works to give the droid a clearer image of what is in the area, both hostile and friendly. While this slows down its potential response time, active use of the scanners can provide an excellent image of what is around the droid, helping not only itself but others with access to its reports. A wheel handle on the droid's back opens its torso upwards, allowing for maintenance, replacement of parts, and reloading of the tibanna gas canister for its blaster and projectiles for its rocket launcher.
