CONTENT INFORMATION
The book is structured in a timeline type, very similar to those used by autobiographies. It follows the life of Dr. Lydia Vherdun from a child to her remarkable mission to Humbarine which restores life on Humbarine once more. The latter part contains the bulk of the book's content as scientists were able to dig out more information for that part of her life more than anything else. Fortunately, that part was also her most noteworthy of her life.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Humbarine Academy of Science embarked on a decade long research over the lost history of Humbarine before the Gulag but more specifically about the obscure figure of Dr. Lydia Vherdun. What was found was incredible turning a person of obscure past and vague rumors to a national hero.
The event of the restoration of Humbarine is known as a fact to Humbariners but its details were exposed when Dr. Hulbert Bao's research on the life of Dr. Lydia Vherdun brought new light to the key event in Humbarine's history.
In 20 BBY when the Confederacy of Independent Systems bombarded Humbarine to death, those who were able to seek refuge fled deeper into the Core embarking on what was named as "The Dark Exodus." The Republic left the planet abandoned until the rise of the Galactic Empire.
It was then when Dr. Lydia Vherdun, an expert in the fields of Terraforming and a daughter of two Humbarine refugees, embarked on a mission to resettle Humbarine. Part of the Imperial Exploratory Corps, she was able to persuade and gather funds both from the Galactic Empire and private investors to start her ambitious mission.
The enormous project was finished in three years, around the time the Galactic Empire collapsed. Thanks to her Humbarine still exists as a habitable planet and thousands of years of history were preserved and continued. Humbarine, one of the founding members of the Galactic Republic, was restored to life thanks to Dr. Vherdun's boldness and sacrifices.
A true patriot to all, especially to more nationalistic members of Humbarine society, her signature is often tattooed on those of hardline patriotic inclinations.
Her fate after resurrecting Humbarine is unknown. Some believe she died of sickness developed due to her intimacy with the terraforming processes. Others believe she had been a victim of the New Republic Intelligence's dark 'clean-up' missions of key Imperial figures. But others argue that Dr. Lydia Vherdun was a secret sympathizer of the Rebel Alliance.
To this day, there are still theories regarding her but one thing is sure:
Dr. Lydia Vherdun deservedly holds the poetic title of Saviour of Humbarine.
A true national hero.
