SPECIAL FEATURES

Oversized Magnetic Pulse Accelerator: Contains a toggleable pulse accelerator that rapidly increases projectile speed and stopping power. This is only effective with solid slugs and has the potential of destabilizing or destroying specialty shells when active. Requires a power cell to operate.​

Agnostic Cylinder: Specialized containment fields allow each (rather large) chamber to fit smaller rounds than the chamber itself, enabling the weapon to fire a variety of handgun slugs and shells from multiple manufacturers.​

STRENGTHS

Extreme Power: With the oversized accelerator toggled on, each high-caliber shot can punch a fist-sized hole through all but the most resistant (or very thick and dense) materials. Even with the accelerator off, each revolver has stopping power that outclasses your standard high-caliber slugger.​

Surprise Parry: The songsteel casing - while very beautiful - helps each revolver withstand extreme heat and lightsaber strikes, being able to effectively block and parry the latter in talented hands.​

Savvy Shooter: Specialized containment fields allow each revolver to chamber a variety of slugs and shells, as long as they are designed for weapons of a similar size or smaller.​

WEAKNESSES

Wrist Breaker: The oversized accelerator may provide extreme stopping power, but not without equally intense recoil. Only incredibly strong organic arms, cybernetics, and particular Force techniques can allow each to be fired without outright destroying bones and soft tissues from the kickback.​

Downsides: The accelerator is great for solid slugs and not much else. Shells and other specialty ammunition are liable to be prematurely activated or destroyed unless the accelerator is toggled off.​

Low & Slow: The revolver design is simple and effective, but comes at the cost of reduced ammunition capacity and rate of fire than that found in blasters or more contemporary slugthrowers.​

DESCRIPTION

Down and Out are the rather uniquely named pair of hybrid slugthrowers owned by Arris Windrun. Their name is a reminder of the infamous cyborg’s origins as a lowlife shockboxer, and a promise to anyone daring or reckless enough to find themselves at the end of her barrels. Each is a mastercrafted weapon, designed and manufactured to exact specifications based on her preferred weapons and fighting style.

Their creation is due in no small part to the network of contacts she developed under the employ of Mauve du Vain, including rare alloy dealers and legendary weapon makers within the Underworld. Most notable in their design and creation are the beautiful songsteel casings, with their names finely etched into the material. Other noteworthy features include oversized magnetic pulse accelerators, which allow each weapon to “punch up” in stopping power, and ammunition agnostic cylinders to chamber a variety of slugs and shells.

Of course, the revolvers were designed only with Arris’s cybernetic strength in mind, proving on the verge of unwieldy for even her, and delivering bone-shattering recoil to anyone of lesser strength. To assist in dampening the severity of the kickback, the barrels are made from a condensed-matter composite to absorb some of the excess energy. There are also small tungsten weights distributed within each weapon to provide counterbalance and improve "the feel" of holding them.
