CESTUS SYSTEM, ORD CESTUS
CESTUS CYBERNETICS FACTORY

This factory had been specially renovated to facilitate the construction of the Protodeka. A difficult task underground, but now the actual construction was well-underway. From a glasteel viewport, Tyrin could see clearly into the gargantuan underground chamber the Protodeka was being constructed in. It was a very large droid, and the equipment needed to construct it competently necessitated even more space.

In truth, it was no longer going by that name. As dictated by the lead designer, whom Tyrin had little to no desire to contradict, this new model would be known as the Padomay-1 Destroyer Droid. The P1 Destroyer Droid. It sounded pretty innocuous that way, which Tyrin admired greatly. Even despite the fact that it probably hadn't been intentional.

Just so he could finally prove he was contributing something tangible to their machinations, he invited many of the Hegemony's more prominent bigwigs to observe construction via holomail. Hopefully at least one of them would also like to purchase the thing. Despite that being his default chosen course of action as discussed with Zothustro, that left a lot of room for the droid to be acquired by a more unsavory government. Such as the Republic, or the Mandalorians.

Tyrin waited patiently for visitors to show up, in any event. If they didn't, he would probably just tour the construction site himself.

Casino work was feeling like it suited Marek. It was a bit easier to help people enjoy their time doing something, and losing money to him, than it was to sell products he was only marginally familiar with. Back when Sindy was working for him, that helped a lot, of course. Still, he had his hand in Haor Chall, and their new HYDRA Droid project was rolling out and being used by the System Authority. Not many other buyers, but they weren’t exactly advertised.

Not yet, at least.

Still, he needed to pace himself, should he get stuck in the Bright Star life, he wasn’t sure how well that would end for him. Whch was why he had Alana at the office on Hypori, and she was making sure the things he needed to do were sent to his personal terminal aboard Bright Star. And that was what this message was about.

After checking his schedule and debating whether he could be away, he figured it was probably smart. Heading to the executive hangar, the one reserved for the up and ups of the Hegemony and other states of the galaxy, he boarded his Vagrant Wind freighter and took off for the Ordinance world.

Once he arrived and disembarked, he made his way, via airspeeder, to the factory. What was Tyrin working on?

Well things were certainly quite busy, but Danger had a bit of a chance to be able to see what was going on so far. A thick brown cigarr would lay perched between her red lips as she reviewed the holographic transmission.

Intrigue would dance across her green eyes as she took a match, slid it across the box, and smelled the scent of sulfur in the air as it ignited. There was something about matchsticks that she preferred. Maybe it was just the intimacy of it all.

A nod would be cast at [member="Darth Janus"], and a small wave would start her greeting along with her usual honeyed, "Greetings ladies and gentlemen.."

The bigwigs wouldn't be the only one having a bit of an interesting view.

Siara was also observing things, as she was wont to do. But she worked for Tion in a way, so there shouldn't be too much of an issue for her.

Besides... she was testing their security systems. It was as much of a game as it was a reality.

So secret infiltration droids it was to be --- time to see how far she could get in so she can supply them a report.

It hadn’tbeen long since she started working for Bright Star, well not in the way she was working now. She was basically waiting for the right time, and rght place, and well, the order to do something. When word was that Marek was taking a trip out to Ord Cestus, she made it her job to follow him. She was using the Rassilon fighter that he purchased for her until her new ship was ready and followed the Corellian freighter out across the galaxy.

When she arrived, she was taking in the whole of the facility. If she was going to work as the arm, or hand, or will, of one of the CEOs, it was probably a safe idea to learn everything she could, right? She was scanning the world, and checking for entry points to the facility, all the while, working on extending her Force sense to grab at whatever she could find, people, ideas, thoughts.

It was as much protection as it was to get her feet wet. What could she find? And where could she land. Sure, she probably could get visitor access, but she wanted more. Taking another circle of the facility, she was working on selecting a landing zone.

It looked like everyone else was a no-show. Well, that was their prerogative. Sure, he could keep harassing them with invitations and e-mails (and Skype messages), but if they weren't here out of their own desire then it would just make everything uncomfortable. Tyrin would just talk to Starchaser and Arceneau. His new best friends.

"Ms. Arceneau, Mr. Starchaser, I am pleased you could make it." Tyrin greeted the two, oblivious to the fact that there were two trollops storming around his factory trying to make a mess of things.

He lead them over to the viewport, where they could plainly see the Protodeka undergoing the final stages of its construction. Durasteel was being welded into place, sparks flying everywhere as the droid crews continued their work on the behemoth droid.

"I figured it would be more prudent to share this little project with the rest of the Hegemony, as I've no desire to keep it all to myself."

Call it what it was, curiosity. Well, curiosity and and a bit of green. Marek liked to know what was going on with his allies as well as his enemies, and when he was given the invite to attend a sneak peak into a new droid unit, he was going to make sure he was there. Besides, he didn't want to host an event at his casinos and have no one show up. That just wouldn't do... Well, people would show, but their level of importance could be less than he'd prefer. Nodding at his favorite redhead, Danger and to his ... was Gerion a friend? comrade who wore many different masks, he looked around.

He wouldn't comment on the slim turn out, but he was still invested in Haor Chall Engineering, and that meant droids. That meant sister companies, even if this one, which he thought he recognized as Cestus, or at least inspired by, was doing his job worlds better, but he would keep on the unique units. Droid fighters, shuttles, and tanks. All automated, of course, and all doubling as mining equipment.

Still, that didn't matter here. He greeted both in turn. And to the holocron junkie, he spoke. "So, what is this project you're working on?" Did he have an agent around? Yes. Hopefully she was just scouting, but you never could tell. Cyber punks doing cyber punk things.The little project he was speaking of was a giant droid. And really, he was grateful it was on his side. Sort of.

"Quite simply, it is a large destroyer droid. It should be larger and of greater power than others on the market right now." Tyrin explained. "The Padomay-1 Destroyer Droid, they've designated it."

Tyrin did not involve himself in the naming schemes for these things. That was work for the designers and whatnot. So long as the product sold, they could call it whatever they liked. Besides, they seemed to have a pretty consistent naming scheme going on right now. Far be it for Tyrin to mess it up because he wanted to name everything after Tionese population centers. Although the changing of the company from Cestus Cybernetics to Hegemonic Automaton was his doing. It was non-negotiable. Cestus Cybernetics didn't sound like an intergalactic droid manufacturing company. It sounded like it was restricted to a single territory.

But we're getting off track here.

"It's based off an old Colicoid design, though the original schematics have been lost to time and the current owners of the Colicoid Creation Nest have no knowledge of it ever existing. No lawsuits to be had here, thankfully."

The buxom redhead would follow along side the two ( after the holorequest she came personally to speed things up) her green eyes observing as Tyrin elaborated on the droid.

"An old Collicoid design?" she'd murmur with avid curiosity. "Interesting." at the latter, she couldn't help but give a faint chuckle of laughter.

An auburn brow would arch, "Well... I reckon that few would try to wager on a lawsuit against Hegemonic Automaton." she came to a slight stop, torso half turning towards Tyrin.

"How long would production take per droid?" she asked.

[member="Danger Arceneau"] | [member="Marek Starchaser"]

"Not long in the grand scheme of things. One week to ensure that it's both built correctly and fully functional." Tyrin explained. "Though, that doesn't count configuring the facilities accordingly and the time it takes to ship."

It was, after all, a difficult thing to line up all the parts of a droid this size. Especially if its primary form of movement was that of a repulsorlift, with the added energy burden of both laser cannons and a forward mounted shield generator. Ultimately it was well worth the cost. The P1, with sufficient air support, could smash through even the most stalwart of defenses. Tyrin was looking forward to an opportunity to pit one against a swarm of Mandalorian basilisk droids. That would've been quite the spectacle.

[member="Danger Arceneau"] was asking the questions he was thinking about. Marek was the Overseer of the Technate for the System Authority, the spiritual evolution of the Foreman of the Techno Union, removing most of the technological bits of the job and replacing them with business and politics. The things he was better at. At least for that government. That was also why he took the redhead’s advice and branched out.

But his beginning was still in robotics. “These are the same basic workers from Cestus, correct?” Marek was not a stranger to needing a bug zapper to fire workers having a hive mind doing the work and figured [member="Darth Janus"] would maximize the efficiency. They were smart, and efficient. “How many are you building at once, currently?” These needed to be rolled out faster.

[member="Marek Starchaser"] | [member="Danger Arceneau"]

"The droids, yes. I didn't bring in any of the usual X'Ting workers. They tend to talk about the things they build rather excessively." Tyrin explained.

Besides, the droids worked faster. The X'Ting, however, did things with a little more finesse. A sort of artisan craftsmanship that he had come to admire. Unlike other Sith, Tyrin had little issue with aliens. He was more focused on Force sensitivity rather than species. Although he did hate Wookies. Mindless, walking carpets that they were. There was little love in Tyrin's heart for Ewoks, as well. Creatures that thwarted previous Empires were not fit to be taken seriously.

And don't even get him started on the Yuuzhan-Vong. More accurately described as the Yuuzhan-Wrong given their preference of disgusting, inefficient biotechnology over durasteel and electronics. Degenerates.

"Presently, only one. These are very expensive to produce, so unless a buyer is lined up prior, I shan't be producing any more."

[member="Darth Janus"] [member="Marek Starchaser"]

Danger gave a nod at that bit of information. "And where are you gathering all the ore from?" she would ask, curious to know what mining company he was utilizing. Was it one of Tion or perhaps elsewhere?

If it was that expensive to produce one droid, that would have to be a consideration if another client were to place an order. Perhaps if they could get the mining companies to do a bid war for such ore it would be to Tyrin's benefit so as to save credits in the long run.

[member="Danger Arceneau"]

Tyrin almost scoffed at the question. "Ord Cestus, of course." As if he would need to get it from anywhere else.

Labor and materials were cheap on Ord Cestus. It was part of the Hegemonic Automaton recipe for keeping the price tags on their final products low. Given Ord Cestus' low population and the total apathy of most of its residents, there was very little opposition to things like strip-mining and dumping industrial waste wherever. It wasn't as if Ord Cestus was a lush, fertile planet to be destroyed. It was a big, brown, rocky planet that no one had any emotional investment in.

"The purchases we made for the materials here were kept discreet, and I greased a few hands to ensure the records of it were destroyed or manipulated a short while after. No one will know it was constructed here, save for us."

[member="Darth Janus"]

Danger gave a smirk. "Well then...looks like you got it all covered." she said with an appreciative skim of her eyes from Tyrin over to the droid.

"I'm anxious to see just what kinda damage this big boy can do." she'd say as she would slowly walk a bit closer to the prototype, pausing just under it to admire the view.

Marek, part of the Haor Chall leadership, even if it was part of Santhe Corp, was more than excited for this unit. Listening to Danger, who seemed to ask the perfect questions, and Janus, he was taking it all in. "Making sure that everything is clean is always important." He nodded.

"When should this prototype roll off the floor?" He wanted to see what it could do, and it was starting to open a few ideas into his own head from Haor Chall.

"This one should be finished by tomorrow and ready to leave the facility by the day after. Quality tests and all that." Tyrin explained. "I've half a mind to offer it to the Moross should they decide to take military action against Yuuzhan'tar."

It really was no secret how Tyrin felt about most of the Yuuzhan-Vong. But we've already gone over that. If none of the Hegemony were interested in Protodeka, then far be it for him to press it on them further. He would offer it to others. The Moross Crusade and the Mandalorians were prime candidates, considering the latter's control over Hegemonic Automaton's primary manufacturing world. If they didn't want it, Tyrin would tentatively offer it to the Protectorate. They were, after all, his next step in accumulating a large customer base.

Being the type of person who enjoyed droid soldiers as much as anyone, Marek smirked. "Yeah, I feel that it would be... best to offer it to anyone going against Yuuzhan'Tar. That world..." Just species that came out of there, Force dead and insane. He really wouldn't mind seeing it smolder a bit.

And not the good kind of smolder.

The kind where it was burning down to the earth, and the bedrock below.

That would be best, really. There and Myrkr.
