Shuttle 9978-B was a public transport vessel like any other. It had been in the heart of Galaxy, the Deep Core, and was in bound for the Expansion Region headed towards Janara III. Chi'no, of course, had made this trip many times. The route from Janara III to her home planet of Sacorria is the one she always worked, tending to the wealthier travelers who frequented the over-priced restaurant aboard the shuttle, the aptly named MY Deluxe, the higher end branch of McYoda's. It had the presentation of a fine diner, but was really just the McYoda's menu prepared with higher quality foodstuffs. Sometimes, however, traffic was slow, and Chi'no was reassigned to be a flight attendant.

To say the job was dull was putting it mildly. Chi'no was bored half the time and frustrated the other half. Travelers could be rude, uncleanly, and snobbish. They'd take out their frustrations when she couldn't change something, leave messes when they assumed that flight staff would just clean it up later, and on and on and on. If she didn't hate getting into conflict she might give one of them a piece of her mind. But the thought of lingering in a negative social situation literally made her skin crawl, so there was none of that.

Fortunately, today seemed to be going off with little trouble at all. MY Deluxe was slow, so she was a flight attendant today. There had been no incidents, no early stops to kick off a rowdy traveler, nothing. Now, with the mid-flight amenities handed out, she was back to her seat with little issue. That was until...

"This is your captain speaking. Due to a minor error we'll be dropping out of hyperspace. Estimates for this lull are twenty minutes at most. Just a little patience and we'll be back to cruising speed in no time."

A stop made sense. With all the rerouting of hyperlanes after that weird whateveritwas that messed everything up, navicomputer failures sprung up here and there. Chi'no sighed, settling into her seat. Hopefully this wouldn't take long. She really wanted to cruise through the next two shifts so she could get back home.

Little did she know, that was the catalyst for one of the worst days of her life.

OOC: Hey all! Different sort of thread, this is a civilian focused adventure. Preference for normal, non badass folk just getting by day-to-day. Force sensitives are cool if you aren't a trained one, but I wanna keep Force stuff on the downlow. If you got a regular old joe, this is the thread for them. Be prepared for impending shenanigans. LFG with info is in the link provided. Thank you.

Yaeger had been around the block when it came to public transport. He'd been a driver himself for a time, he'd taken it plenty in his off hours, and today, he was doing it to get to a job. Normally, he'd fly himself, but that was the catch today.

Old Glory was in the shop.

And yet, he still needed to get paid. Some haul over on on Janara III had promised him big metal to take some creature from there to Corellia. While he couldn't pick it up until his ship was back in service, he could at least do the paperwork.

That was the plan at least.

The sudden stop had caused Yaeger to let out a groan, as he looked around the transport. Plenty of folks of all shapes and sizes, and yet he was sat across a twi'lek girl who seemed to catch his interest.

"Ya think we'll be delayed too long?" He asked, looking to the girl with a tired smile.

"Without me, there is no force." - Darth Valor
Darth Valor stepped from the shadows, his crimson blade humming softly at his side. The unexpected halt of the transport was a minor inconvenience, yet it presented an opportunity. He observed the civilians, their mundane concerns a stark contrast to his own. A faint, almost imperceptible smile touched his lips as he considered the unfolding 'shenanigans.' This was precisely the kind of chaos he found... stimulating. He moved with a predatory grace, his gaze sweeping over the unsuspecting passengers, searching for any flicker of potential, any spark that might be fanned into a useful flame. The Force hummed around him, a dark symphony of anticipation. He was a shadow in their midst, an unseen hand ready to guide their fates. The captain's 'minor error' was merely the opening act to a much grander play, and Darth Valor intended to be the director.

Staying in my seat, I just enjoyed reading from the datapad. Some story of a young man in times of old who wielded a bow and fought for a kingdom as a kind of ranger. It was quite enjoyable. Even more so because the individual was an orphan and was excelling at his job as such a ranger. Even becoming one of the more influence and tactical minds of their little group. However, I stopped reading and looked up when an attendant was about to hand me some kind of free snack. My hand on it when an announcement that we would need to take a small pit stop to fix some problems with the vessel.

This was normal. Taking public transit time and time again, you got used to it. Sometimes it would be very smooth, and others would be weird or awkward. Rarely would they be attacked by bandits or something. Even then, seeing these massive and powerful Jedi or whoever was rare. Taking the snack, I heard the voice of someone in front of me talking to someone else. Asking about how long they think this would take, I just answered quickly before the Twi'lek across the way from the man could speak.

"Its normal for this to happen. Ships don't live forever on just raw will. They need maintenance. Sometimes in flight. Shouldn't be long."

I didn't even really look at them. Just taking the little snack bar, opening it up and taking a bite out of it.

"May I suggest light reading or watching a holo-flic to pass the time?"

"I don't imagine it will be very long," Chi'no relayed. "I'm sure it's just some navicomputer update. These new hyperlanes have been a little messy, so they told us to expect stops like these."

She wasn't very fond of the delay herself, however. Given how long her day had been, and knowing she had another shift incoming for the return trip, Chi'no really would have liked for the ship to get moving so she could just get home. The less she had to think about work any given week the better.

"I-"

The young woman was interrupted by another message from the pilot.

"Looks like we're due for some extended complication. We've rerouted to Ghorman and will be finishing the journey sub-light. Alliance aid is inbound to escort us into the system. Apologies for the inconvenience."

A little pout came to Chi'no's face.

"That's never happened before," she muttered.

Luke was startled awake, sitting up in his seat. He rubbed his face- his engineering bag shuffling out of the seat next to him. He blinked a few times, taking a deep breath, gathering himself. Waking himself up. He elected to stand up, catching only the tail end of the announcement.

"Sub-light? That's gonna take forever..."

Luke said- to no one, and everyone in particular. Moreso venting his frustrations outloud as he gazed out the window.

"Poodoo."
