Don't Stop Me Now [First Order Military Ball]

"What do you think of the party?" [member="Harley"] asked Konrad. Re-entering reality, he smiled to mask his true feelings from the woman.

"This is a fine party and I am grateful to have been invited by our allies, the First Order," was the High General's answer to the question. The longer he stayed at this party, the more uncomfortable he felt. A ball was not somewhere he felt he belonged. After he had given his answer to the woman, he waved down a passing waiter and had the man bring him over another non-alcoholic beverage but not before turning to Harley.

"Would you like another drink?" He asked the woman out of courtesy not wanting to offend her a second time. Although he did not know much about her beyond her name, he had no desire to offend her as he did not know if she could had ties to other powerful members of the One Sith who he did not wish to offend by extension.

This was probably her fifth drink, or was it sixth, arw doe not matter it's a party. Yeah I think I will.She replied to [member="Konrad von Grimmelshausen"]
A the wait came she finished her other brandy, she then asked So what is it like on the council? She was stuck for conversation, and she really just wanted to dance again.
As tomorrow was decimating some planet for the glory of [member="Darth Vornskr"], or making sure he had his night cap.

Cameron smiled pleasantly at [member="Raph Tritum"] as their conversation drew to a close. "It's been a pleasure, Mr. Tritum." Casually, the Sith Lord patted [member="Amorella Mae"]'s arm as they bid their goodbye to the Tapani Noble and angled towards the bar. Leaning in slightly to Esmae, Cameron posed a playful question. "Need a drink? We can go somewhere...private." The brief wiggle of the large Sith's eyebrows conveyed the true nature of his jest. Interestingly enough, Amorella's heritage was not typically a point of comedy for Cameron. He could only imagine the reality of having to stay ahead of a baser need that was entirely genetic, unavoidable.

At the same time, he really didn't want her to have to resort to...well a last resort. Not that it hadn't been mildly amusing to watch her drift around a wedding reception in a light fog. In true form, Esmae rather always presented a dignified aura. However, there were subtleties that Cameron could pick up on without even looking at her, and on the day in question, she'd certainly been...slightly under the influence.

"Nice fellow," Amorella remarked quietly as she followed the lead of the Master of Ren, whimsical and amused all the same, "If the First Order's men are anything like him at all then the galaxy will be in good hands."

Blue eyes drifted upwards at the jib and at once her smile failed, "No..." she gave her husband a glance that might've been incredulous were the features not so soft and instead came across as something closer to concern, "I'm fine, thank you." Since relinquishing her claim to the Kuatian throne those baser needs had found themselves less easily sated. While heiress enjoyed access to her mother's store of Blodwyne in order to keep that lust in check, this was no longer an option and Amore was not trained in the methods and skills required to create it.

Merovign was learning and, she was certain, Cerusia knew the rituals too - but mother was not making it easy for them. The handouts had ceased the moment they neglected to be under her control. Such was her right.

"Who do I get to meet next, hm? That fellow over there looks important," smile returned, wry this time, she gestured across the hall to where [member="Ludolf Vaas"] stood entertaining a small group.

[member="Cameron Centurion"]

Cameron piqued a brief curious eyebrow at [member="Amorella Mae"]'s response. Though his comment had certainly been in jest, the reality of her response, while not entirely unexpected, spoke to a deeper issue that Cameron would never really understand completely. He'd never been one to have the benefit of living under the protections of his parents for very long and even then...it had not been exactly an existence of luxury.

Still...as always he felt for Amorella. The reality of the depth of their connection meant that he...could certainly feel the roller-coaster of her emotions. However, that certainly did not mean he always understood. Before he offered Amorella a response to her inquiry, the Master of Ren planted a soft kiss to her forehead. No words of apology, but she would be able to feel it all the same.

Lifting his silver-green gaze to finally look in the direction Esmae had indicated, Cameron replied simply, "General Vaas. I've not had the pleasure myself, so it will be a first for both of us." Redirecting their path, the Corstris native guided the pair towards [member="Ludolf Vaas"]. When they were within earshot, Cameron's deep voice reached forward towards the man. "General Vaas." Drawing within a few feet of the man, Ciardha Ren nodded his head slightly and extended a hand. "I do not believe we've had the pleasure. Ciardha Ren."

The use of his legal name with Raph and Ren identity with the General had both been purposeful. Shifting to indicate his wife, Cameron provided the introduction. "This is my beautiful wife, Amorella Mae."

Before she knew it he had led her down and out to the balcony and she sighed contently. It was truly beautiful and she was having so much fun. He said something to her then mentioned a surprise.

"For me?" She was surprised because she didn't know that this was even possible. Nobody had ever gotten her anything ever. She looked at the datapad then back to Viktor.

"What?!" Jia gasped,looking at him as he said she was,free and he asked,what she wanted to do. He ran a hang through her hair and Jia shivered. "Thank you." She attacked,him with a huge hug.

[member="Viktor Alexander"]

Viktor wrapped his arms around [member="Jia Zhu"] when she attacked him with a hug.

"Your life is your own now Jia." "To do with as you see fit." "All you have to do is say it and it can be yours."

Viktor didn't pull back or move rather enjoying being this close to her letting the embrace linger as long as she wanted it to.

Momentarily freed from any social obligation, Ludolf would not wander the ballroom alone for very long. His thoughts were presently entranced by the rather riveting encounter he'd just had with the singer and actress, and it took a voice from behind to whisk him out of his brief stupor. Hearing his name called, the General pivoted on his foot and turned his glacial blue eyes to find [member="Cameron Centurion"] and [member="Amorella Mae"].

"Indeed we have not," Vaas replied, meeting Cameron's extended hand with his own, the black leather of his glove gripping Cameron's palm tightly. Ludolf did not know this man, but the man evidently knew him. Though he had an idea as to the man's identity. "Ciardha Ren, it's a pleasure." And then, towards Amorella with a smile and a slight incline of his head, "And a pleasure to meet you as well, Ms. Mae."

Ludolf motioned to a nearby server to bring three more flasks of champagne to the small circle where the three stood. Perhaps the two of them had been drinking all night, but there was still yet no reason to stop.

"Admittedly I orefer to keep out of the loop of the Ren's most secret inner workings. Being one without the Force, it is a religion in which I'd have no frame of understanding. Men come and go without me ever meeting them sometimes," Ludolf explained. "But it is good to meet you. Have the both of you found the evening to be to your satisfaction?"

Cameron retracted his hand with a shallow nod after greetings were exchanged. "Ah but you needn't be gifted with the ability to feel the Force's presence to understand, General. Indeed it is an increasingly disturbing trend that even those born with the gift...understand little." Waving a dismissive hand, Cameron managed a soft smile. "I digress." There was certainly no reason to bore the General with the reality of inequities in training across many of the force sects littering the galaxy. "We do prefer to be a shadow much as we can, and the pleasure is all mine, General. You have a challenging duty - assisting in the leadership of the Supreme Leader's militant forces. I do not envy the weight resting upon your shoulders."

It was just as well to come off as one unfamiliar with the position of the General. "As for the party, I myself am having a great time. A little drinking, some dancing, fending off the throng of admirers that Amorella here seems to engender at most social events."

He'd partaken in none of those activities. But again...reality was merely what one constructed around them out of the inherent grayness of life. "Yourself, General? Enjoying the festivities?" The Master of Ren's silver-green gaze tracked in the direction of [member="Marzena Choi"] rather purposefully for but a moment.

[member="Ludolf Vaas"] | [member="Amorella Mae"]

Konrad gestured at the waiter to give [member="Harley"] another drink before he answered her question. "Having a position on the Dark Council is nothing special, just more responsibility." The High General was first and foremost a man of the army at heart and never did think much of his new position. True, it did allow him access to more resources than he had previously had access to but at the same time it would also take him away from the army - something he was not fond of at all. Finishing his second drink, Konrad placed the empty cup on a nearby table before grabbing a cup of coffee of a passing waiter. It seemed that this was going to be a long night for the General.

[member="Konrad von Grimmelshausen"]

Oh okay, I hate paper work. She replied to him as he said about it just more responsibility, she was wondering why he picked up another glass. Though he was down his drinks quite fast, she had not realized it was only water. She trying to keep up with him, so she drink at a similar pace. She also wonder what she had to do to at least get him to dance with her. Though she was also hoping he would slow down soon, as she was what or sleventh drink.

"Paper work is not the worst of it. It takes me away from the army which I must admit, is something I do not enjoy however, power is power and one can never have too much of that." Keeping a conversation going was not one of Konrad's fortes buthe still kept at it despite not having much to say to [member="Harley"]. Perhaps, he thought, he should ask her some questions. "Are you currently studying under a master?" he asked trying to appear interested. The more she spoke, the less he would have to which was his goal.

[member="Konrad von Grimmelshausen"]

He asked her about herself, it made her smile though she did really just want dance, she did not get many days off. Her ind was getting a little blurry, now the alcohol was kicking in. She then answered his question, Erm not really do get the odd lesson, but no actual master. Unless you count the Zambranos, as I am one of there minions. Her speech was a little slurred as she spoke, but eight double brandy's would do that to her. She was wondering where he was putting it all, which made her ask a stupid question. Do you have hollow legs, as I am trying to work out where your putting all your drink? She was thinking please just ask me to dance.

"I do no not consume alcoholic drinks as it impairs my abilities." Konrad answered Harley when she questioned why he was unaffected by his drinks. "As a soldier, I prefer to be able to constantly be alert and on guard. Plus, I have never met a woman who is so fond of alcohol." he continued. "The night is coming to an end soon and you have drunk quite a bit. Are you going to be able to return safely? Or should I contact someone for you? If there is no one I can contact, perhaps, I can try and organize some type of transport to ensure that you return home safely." The High General had noticed the slurring of [member="Harley"]'s words as she spoke and started to worry for her safety as it was dangerous, in his opinion for a woman to return home late at night in a compromised state of mind. As painful as the death of his beloved was, he was grateful for once that he did not have to worry about her consuming alcohol and it consequently negatively affecting her state of mind.

[member="Konrad von Grimmelshausen"]

Oh she replied to one bit as he said he was not drinking, know she felt a bit of a fool. Then he said something about the army, it still was not asking her to dance though. He then he said she was found of alcohol, well dur it was party, know ask me to dance you fool. Then he asked if she need a lift home, well that was going o be no unless he was going ask me dance first. I that's little forward you, I have only just met you. She may have the wrong end of the stick, she just though he offered her lift to his house.

"What do you mean?" Konrad asked confused. "When I asked whether you needed assistance in returning home, I had no intention of entering your abode. At most, I would have seen you to the door to ensure you arrived safely but more likely, it would be one of my men escorting you home." The Sith Knight began to worry a bit about [member="Harley"]. To misunderstand him in such a manner, she must be quite drunk.

"When you wish to return home, come find me and I will arrange for one of my men to escort you home. Rest assured, they are well trained and are more than capable of protecting you from any unsavoury individuals you may come across." Standing up, Konrad headed to the buffet table and loaded up a plate of gourmet wedges and a dipping sauce. Then, quickly returning to his seat, he handed the plate to the woman. "Eat. It will help you sober up. It is quite unbecoming of a woman to be this drunk in public." Had Harley been in a better state of mind, Konrad would have left by this point but it would be rather unresponsible of him as a man to do so due to her current condition.

[member="Konrad von Grimmelshausen"]

As he went away to get her food, she wonder why did he not ask her to dance was she ugly?
He came back with food and told off for having a drink, he was not her master, not her other half.
She did ponder why he said it was unbecoming for a woman to be drunk, and wonder why was okay for a man to be drunk.
This made her little angry, but she was trying to be on good behaviour, after all he was a member of the dark council.
Though she was had little tendency to be emotionally unstable, so she had her food.
Though he knew enough to give hot food, as cold food a drunk stomach was not good.

After having it, she asked him When are you going to ask me to dance?
That was meant to be in her head, but came out of her mouth instead.

"It appears it is your turn to be forward Miss Quinn." Konrad said in response to her question almost smirking. "Unfortunately, as a result of personal reasons, I do not enjoy the act of dancing and truth be told, I have forgotten how to dance with a woman." Athough the first half of the statement was true, thr second hald was a lie. He did not forget how to dance. How could he? He remembered ever move of the dance he danced with his deceased love at their first ball together. He had spent countless hours practicing and preparing for that one dance. It was their first dance after all and Konrad had wanted it to be nothing less than perfect for the one he had loved so dearly.

"Perhaps you should mingle with other men and find one more suited to your age." The High General suggested to [member="Harley"] . "I am sure plenty of young men would be more than happy to humor you with a dance."

[member="Konrad von Grimmelshausen"]

Only one word that he uttered stuck in her mind, may be one of other men would humor her.
She decided not to put that cake into his face, as it was to nice of cake to waste.
She just said Whatever, tomorrow I may die in war, all I wanted was last dance before then.
Almost in strop she got up and started to leave, harley however was not use to highheels.
As she was drunk trying to strut away, her heel snapped, well she did get cheap shoes.
This was because [member="Darth Vornskr"] did not pay his minions very well, and she never had time to g shoe shopping properly.
As she feel she turned and hit the floor hands first, this was instinctive as otherwise she would broke her nose.

Konrad did not know whether to catch [member="Harley"] as she fell when her heel snapped or not. He may have been a high ranking member of the One Sith Army but he still did not know how to behave around women. To him, women were a whole other beast. His fiancee may have died but he remained faithful to her and did not wish to do anything that may appear as if he was straying. He felt a pang of guilt as he watch Harley fall, arms outstreched to break her fall. He could have helped her but did not. That was not very chivalrous of him but he did not have much time to think through his decision. When in doubt, he would rather not assist a woman rather than making the wrong decision which would be like a stain on his record.

Bending down, he extended his right hand to the woman on the floor in an attempt to help her up. "Are you alright Miss Quinn?" he asked with a slight tone of concern in his voice. It was partially his fault she had fell after all.
