Born the eldest boy of the von Ascania family Dominic was groomed to become the next head. His life was an easy one, if perhaps too sheltered. Where Marcel had a heavy hand for the eldest daughter, he treated his heir the opposite. Gentle, kind, loving. Dominic wanted for naught, and if not for the involvement of his dear mother Luciana he very well could of grown to be conceited and spoiled. Instead, he was given all the love of his siblings parents and learned only how to be kind.

The official story was a tragic death of her husband in an accident and her retreat to the core worlds her attempt to sooth her aching heart, but even as sheltered from the darker side of nobility as Dominic was, he couldn't avoid hearing the dark rumors. Murder. It was the first time he'd heard his father yell at him, when he asked if there was truth behind such horrid claims.
Dominic was to drop the subject entirely. He chose not to. There was freedom to be had as the heir as he was, and now an adult of eighteen, he left from home to find the answers for himself.
