SPECIAL FEATURES

• Spider Transformation: Through the power of the Darkside and arcane powers associated with Dathomir magicks, the wearer can call upon the spirit of a spider; transforming their body {physical make-up} through metamorphosis into acavern spider.

Strengths:

• Spider Power: When in spider form, they are granted all the abilities associated with the cavern spider; such as size, ferocity, aggressiveness, web weaving, and poisonous bite. The potency of the bite varies on the species being bitten. Humans suffer the worst.
• Mental and Speech: Whilst under the transformation, the transformed retain their mental capacity such as the ability to reason and solve problems. They also retain the ability to speak but with some effort.

Weaknesses:

• The Force: When in spider form, the wearer cannot call upon the Force or use any Dathomir arcane powers.
• Species: When the wearer takes on the form of a spider, the wearer loses all abilities associated with the species; i.e. Epicanthix loses their mental shielding.

DESCRIPTION

The shamans of the Nightsisters first created the Talismans of Transformation, giving only to the Nightsisters that reached Witch Elder status and proved themselves a loyal and true Sister. Throughout the centuries, the talismans adopted the ability to channel various spirit animals for the Nightsister clans; each clan adopted their own animals. It was the shamans of the Spiderclan that forged the first set of talismans that allowed their Elders to transform into a cavern spider; an arachnid emulated by the Spiderclan sisters.

By the year 678 ABY, these talismans were diminished to only a handful through clan wars and other outside disturbances.

The ring, Domine Aranea, is one of a kind; created specifically for the witch Via Dolorosa. It allows her to transform in and out of spider form at will, though it takes at least five minutes to complete the cycle. Whilst in form she adopts all the abilities of the spider, in this case a cavern spider, but also suffers the loss of the Force and associations of her species. In spite of the arcane power, the transformation process is painful; to and from.
