  • Canon: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: N/A
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Dokkaebi
  • Origins: Atrisia codex Atrisia wookiee
  • Other Locations: N/A
  • Classification: Flower
  • Average Growth Cycle: Usually growing within a small handful of months. The pollen grows int he water and latches onto rocks stretching up out of the water and when there is enough heat the flowers bloom sending more into the air.
  • Viability: Humid and rocky areas, usually hot springs that are either natural or artificial.
  • Description: interwoven and vine like across rocks with small tendrils in hot water. When it is hot enough small jade colored flowers open and release a sticky pollen that clings to the skin and causes trace like visions.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Average Height: .33m
  • Average Length: .25m
  • Color: Shades of green that different based on the heat of the waters where it is found.
  • Nutritional Value: Eating is not recommended
  • Toxicity: Ingested: Eating can cause severe vomiting and constriction of the internal muscles around the heart.
  • Other Effects:
Vaporized Contact: The pollen when moistened and heated creates a semi induced state of euphoria and allows a deeper connection to the force itself.
Addiction: A byproduct of the sensation created by the plants vapors that it can become addicting. Seeing visions, being able to feel a sensation that you are one with the force is enthralling and dangerous. Example Barriss Offee's addiction to bota making her achieve oneness with the force.
  • Distinctions: Grows in hot water and rocky surfaces instead of dirt. Blooms in steam.
Strengths:
  • Force Visions: The sensation created by the steam is calming and sends one into a force vision that is able to expand their minds.
  • Resistance: A benefit and problem of the pollen clinging to the skin is the body does build up a tolerance to it. In the short term this could mean other mind altering effects like pheromones could be resisted from other worlds but it is far to easy to tip into an addiction as your body becomes dependent upon the feeling and euphoric feeling.
Weaknesses:
  • Very Specific Conditions: Requiring scalding hot water and stone that it can get far enough out of the water with. The kudzu like flora is easy to destroy and contain.
  • Fibrous: While generally durable enough that a bed of it can be made the flowers stalk vines are thin and easily torn.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
There is not much known about the Dokkaebi itself... it was discovered by one of the Royal Botanists of the Kitel Phard empire... they found it in the mountain retreat of the Iris Empress and studied it. The records mostly showing that it was opposite most other plants not needing soil but instead growing from pollen spores in hot waters until it could find a surface and cling to it. usually a rocky surface and then it would grow a few centimeters a day into it stretched out and the flowers on them matured. The botanist was considered one of the more special and held in high regard but died later under unknown circumstances leaving his island that had been gained fromt he royal family at the time to fall to ruins. His daughter noted as the only survivor later being put to death.

Sicne then the flower as it blooms mostly has been cultivated in remote areas, by shamans and charlatans as it does have a sort of hallucinogenic effect on the mind when the pollen clings to the skin. Several hot springs artificially control the growth by purposefully having the beds in colder areas that will contain the spores from growing out of control. The royals and most groups on Atrisia do not show it to other people but with Gumiyo Murasaki reclaiming the island it was grown on the Anshin for the first time to let more distinguished tourists who wanted to experience a rarity of Atrisian culture. The limited knowledge of it made it seem more exotic and the few documented sites of it on the world were set to be preserved in case samples were needed to or wanted to grow it in other locations.
