Sepheni Tal

Sepheni stood in tall tower of the Jedi Temple. There in the citadel she looked upon zooming shadows of ships that went to and fro, unaware of what binds them all, The Living Force.
Sepheni was not thrilled to be there. She preferred Tython, or Dantooine, the former had been besieged, the ladder she was called from for a Council Meeting. Sepheni found the Jedi Council insufferable, all of them thinking themselves sages, when they shirked adherence to the Jedi Code when it served them politically or for other means. The point is they were clay, moldable by the times, while she was like iron, sharpened to keep the Jedi Orthodoxy.

The Council had her wait.. and wait. They did that. A means to make you feel irrelevant. At last she was called and as she entered the Council Chamber, she was surrounded in brown cloaked sentients, all of who wore hoods to cloak their faces. This Council tried to retain anonymity, saying it helped them better adjudicate and serve the Light. Sepheni knew better, it was a means of control.
They spoke as One with a voice changer:
“Sepheni Tal.. you have been called before us to accomplish a mission of import to the Jedi Order.”
Sepheni roller her eyes.
‘Like you know what best serves the Order?’ She thought.
The Council continued.
“You are to hunt down a Sith Lord, named Saavage. You are to eliminate him.”
Sepheni now was unable to keep her peace.
“Are you taking out a hit on a Sith?!”
The Council nodded as one.
Sepheni hissed, saliva filling her mouth.
“That’s not the Jedi Way!”
The Council shook the room with a thunder.
“We are the will of the Force, the Council, we decide what is the Way of the Jedi!”
Sepheni ignited her cobalt blade and shouted.
“The Code is the Way! And this violates it! We are not murderers!”
Sepheni was thrown to the floor and then levitated upward.
The Voice of the Council spoke,
“You will obey or be expelled. A Jedi you will no longer be.”
Sepheni was released and she rose to her feet, her pointed ears stirring like attenae. Her eyes full of rage, not of a vengeful kind, but righteous indignation. She bowed her head and left the chamber, inside wanting to immolate the heretics. But she did not embrsce the emotion. She cooled it.
Outside the Chamber A droid gave her star charts and data to find this Sith Lord. He hadn’t hidden his routes, and his travel was frequent.
Sith were the sworn enemy of the Jedi, and the Code, so Sepheni boarded her Starfighter to hunt the only thing worse than a heretic, an apostate.
